If you’re staying at one of the “Grand” hotels on property, you can visit only the other grand hotels - not “luxury”. If you’re at a luxury hotel, you can visit all others on property

That’s exciting! I would say try to snag a pool or beach chair as early as possible, book your ala carte restaurants early in your trip - we liked all the restaurants in the Las Olas beach house, especially the Indian restaurant, and the ocean is a bit more shallow if you go right on the beach towards Esmeralda 👍🏻

When staying at Bavaro, you only have access to Punta Cana facilities/pools, but not their buffet. Yes, the Las Olas beach house is accessible to Punta Cana and Bavaro guests!

@@gregfreeze8649 mexico is newer and a little nicer but DR was fun though. You can walk the entire thing. In Tulum you need the shuttle to get to the other resorts if you want certain restaurants. The beach is also better in DR. Tulum has a lot of rocks in the water. We stayed mostly by the pool. Also we found the atmosphere at Coba on the same property more lively than Tulum is n Mexico. Hope this helps and enjoy. You won’t really go wrong either way.

BP Punta Cana is closer to the beach, but it’s an older resort and has mixed reviews. BP Coba is a great resort, but farther from the beach - about a 15 minute walk. It’s tough to compare bc they are quite different.. but overall the beach at Coba is better bc they don’t have much of an issue with seaweed which is a huge issue in Dominican. The beach at Coba is a bit rocky though, so bring water shoes 👍🏻
Some villas of grand punta Cana are closer to the beach, and some are farther back next to aquamarine. Since you probably can’t control which villa they put you in, I would still recommend Aquamarine. It will have better rooms, buffet and grounds.
Honestly, we are not experts at this 🤷🏼♀️ we’ve had upset stomachs on vacation a few times in the past and it’s hard to know what it’s from 🤷🏼♀️ just in general, make sure whatever meat you are eating is well cooked and try not to have anything that looks like it’s been out for too long. Also, don’t drink the tap water 👍🏻
The sounds of a great vacation ☺️ some of the pools in the middle of the resort between Punta Cana and Bavaro are usually a bit quieter during the day 🤷🏼♀️

No, only Fantasia guests can stay at the Fantasia pools and go to the restaurants. If you stay at a Bahia Grand hotel, you can only visit and eat at the other Grand hotels on the Bahia property 👍🏻
I would recommend the other Bahia Luxury hotels on property over this one. Those hotels have extra perks and amenities 👍🏻 we have not been to Occidental Punta Cana, so we cannot compare 🤷🏼♀️

If you can afford to, I would 100% recommend Fantasia. The rooms are definitely nicer, and everything is geared towards children! The splash pad and pools are perfect for kids 👌🏻

So my family (14 & 12 yr old) have stayed 2 years in a row to Luxury Akumal (Tulum) resort. We are contemplating trying another Bahia Principe resort to explore more locations. Punta Cana is an option, but I see the Luxury portion is adults only, so our kids will prevent this. We can do the Grand Punta Cana, but I know that puts less options on our trip. What would you suggest?
I would recommend the Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda. This one is family friendly, and gives you access to the other Luxury and Grand resorts on property (except buffets). This resort is nicer than the Grand Punta Cana and gives you access to more. Hi there! This resort is all-inclusive so all meals are included! Most liquor is included as well - but some of the premium alcohol is an extra charge. The Premium Level is a time share type of deal that gives you access to a special lounge and some premium drinks.

Just spent a week here. !! NOT ALL INCLISIVE!! only their own brand of alcohol is included! Wich is cheap and garbage Regular alcohol is NOT included! U have to pay for drinks. It was such a disappointment ! Food was ok but NOTHING SPECIAL compared to better resorts, lots of things are like ordered from microwaveable food sources. Management changed we stayed here 7years ago and it wasn’t the same. Service is not good. I practically had to argue with bartenders in the pool to get a tiny cheap drink. Very few selection of their cheap drinks in the pool anyway. My room had a few things not working and the engineer came like two days later. First night I waited to 3 hours and they never came. Waiters are very helpful. Management did nothing about issues they just pretend to care and do nothing. Roaches everywhere at night. The place looks good but everything else is shit. The best pool by the pool was under construction and the beach area was awful. Lots of jack hammering sand was slanted can fall easily and it was the only hotel in the area that didn’t clean the seaweed. Water was like mud. New management really messed this place up.
How was the Marriott ? Do you have a video. I’d like to compare as I’ve been here and it’s super nice. But I’m willing to see Marriott too as I plan to vacation soon.
I would never recommend this hotel, bad service, the buffet food is terrible, there are 6 restaurants, but you can only go to two or 3 depending on the days of your stay. Maybe it was a good hotel in the past, but now it's crap, and with all the guests I spoke to, they felt the same as me.
Do not go here. I stay in Dominican Republic regularly and this is without a doubt the WORST hotel I’ve stayed in. Too big. Foods shit. Rooms are EXTREMELY dated. Stay at riu or ocean blue and sand for the same price.

Heading here on Saturday for a wedding. Interested to see how it holds up to BPG Tulum in Mexico. We were there in January and absolutely loved it.

How was the Marriott ? Do you have a video. I’d like to compare as I’ve been here and it’s super nice. But I’m willing to see Marriott too as I plan to vacation soon.
I would never recommend this hotel, bad service, the buffet food is terrible, there are 6 restaurants, but you can only go to two or 3 depending on the days of your stay. Maybe it was a good hotel in the past, but now it's crap, and with all the guests I spoke to, they felt the same as me.

Do not go here. I stay in Dominican Republic regularly and this is without a doubt the WORST hotel I’ve stayed in. Too big. Foods shit. Rooms are EXTREMELY dated. Stay at riu or ocean blue and sand for the same price.
