Thanks Bobby, it is nice little experiment, if it works than it opens more opportunities for dealing with nebari. Im curious myself.

If this method would work, it would be great cause it isn't a complicated process. Looking forward to see updates , keeping my fingers crossed for you🤞

Thanks mate 👍 it is easy and straightforward. If it works like it's supposed to, then it's interesting. I will report.

When I saw it a few weeks before, it was also new for me. I'm curious myself if it works. I will report.

hi maros, andrea melloni recommended a likewise routine to me for creating missing nebari on an acer rubrum. I really like the idea to add some root growing hormone to the process. So let's see how our trees will react to that routine. And thanks a lot for your video! Cheers, Christoph☺️👍🏻

Hi Christoph, It's good to know someone is actually using it as well. I read a few comments under Dan's vid confirm use of the method. So let's wait and see how it works. Thanks for following my channel and support. Greetings 👍

I think you will have a nice radial nebari. Another method seen on acer buergerianum it's cross roots like a fabric cloth. I asked an old man who had flat nebari like a pizza (I don't like it so much, i prefer see few big roots like nature does and not a pizza😂). He told me japanese ppl used to select and "create nodes" or intersect roots tied up (on buergerianum) that will grow and fuse themselves into a flat big nebari.

Thanks. There are many interesting techniques to manipulate the trees so they create desired shapes. I haven't seen the technique you are describing, but I can understand underlying logic of it. I'm not big fan of "pancake" nebari either, it is not according to my taste, but I know many people like it and think it looks cool.

Bonjour, très intéressant, mais pourquoi il faut boucher les trous ?

In case the drilled hole is not plugged by something, it would heal and close with callus before roots have chance to appear. So we have to create condition for universal young cells under the bark which could create any part of tree (bark, cambium, stems, roots... ) to be exposed to humidity, hormone and air which will encourage those cells to create roots.

I have seen the same video I'm very interested I'm very interested. I'm also wondering if succes it's species dependent

If it works, it could be very interesting and helpful. I would bet that it could work on species that generally root well in airlayers, etc. But too early to judge.
