    Culling is such an important aspect of any line breeding project. And it's something most breeders don't like talking about for fear of ridicule. But other new breeders don't learn how to properly do it if successful breeders don't talk about it. Thanks for sharing Mark.

    "I never kill my shrimp..." Okay, yeah, it took me awhile to make the connection as to why so many guppy breeders have a tank of axolotls somewhere in their fish rooms. I thought what a strange thing that all these guppy breeders love axolotls.... :-/ THEN I realized...they are "culling facilitators!" :-0

    Great video as always. I actually watch your videos while sitting in my shrimp room and then I stare at my tanks for an hour. Lol I’m picking up some yellow Neil Cara Dina‘s this evening. My breeder tells me that two or three of the girls are already Erin so I will have babies anyway. A few months ago looking forward To having some shrimp in it.

      The ones I have tried have all been hard akadama , the names are triple red line,double white line and ibraki but I am not sure if the last one is the right spelling , I think its the name of the area the soil comes from.

    Mark I need your help!
    I’ve had a taiwan bee tank for 7 months now, about 40 shrimp with a mix of red panda, black panda, and blue bolts. A few amanos as well. There has been ZERO breeding so far.
    My tanks parameters are:
    130-135 ppm
    0 ammonia
    0 nitrite
    5ppm nitrate
    6.2-6.4 ph
    20-21 deg C
    I used to feed them 2-3 times a week but started feeding them a small amount daily after seeing your video on that. What gives? Seems like something is off since there’s been no breeding at all but I don’t know what it could be. Thanks, love the channel

    • @MarksShrimpTanks
      @MarksShrimpTanks  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kepp up with the small daily feeds and they will breed soon enough

    • @Cleeon
      @Cleeon 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Excuse me, maybe you need to ask the breeder about his or her water parameter.

    • @ShrimpVault
      @ShrimpVault 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Could be your GH or KH being too high. The recommended parameters for bee shrimp are GH 4-6 and KH 0-2. In the wild, bee shrimp only breed when the KH of the water is close to 0. You can try Salty Shrimp GH+ mixed with distilled/RO water for future water changes. Also, your temperature is too low. It should be closer to 23-24 degrees Celsius. The lower the temperature, the less inclined shrimp are to breed as their digestive and reproductive systems slow down the colder it is. Your PH seems to be a tad too acidic, PH should be closer to 6.8. Salty Shrimp GH+ with distilled/RO water should solve your PH, GH and KH issues.
