When I started playing, as a solodiver against bugs on 4 or 5, I took the normal mines for a while. The planet was a grey moon-surface like thing with meteor showers, so they were very visible. When pursued by bugs I would often retreat through my minefield, avoiding stepping on them (and succeeding most of the time).
Fun fact with AT mines unrelated to the video... Uhh dont walk over them while carrying a SEAF artillery shell. You can actually trigger them that way. Someone i was watching play had their friend find that out the hard way.
That's a combo I use constantly on bug defence missions, with a twist Napalm mines, then throw the tesla orbital on the final second. Some softeners like support autocannon/rocket turrets will help, but they can set off the mines, I recommend a gatler or mounted hmg to support
I just had an idea for my new loadout combo. Tesla tower and AT mines to protect it! Might as well use the fact that the tower is a god dam charger magnet! And the spear plus precision strike to take out the bile Titans. I DON'T CARE HOW BETTER THE RR IS THAN THE SPEAR! I AM A GIGACHAD WHEN I USE IT LET ME COPE!
Agree im a god with spear. Just took out 9 autom fabs. In 9 min running cross the map with light armor i dont care about RR because of range and accuracy. Btw the sentries are all charger magnets. They will always prioritize ur sentries infront of you. Dont matter if its tesla tower or wichever one ur using
It's still look useless. Other stratagems are just going to set it off, there is a chance that a charger might not set it off, and it's completely useless against bile titan
The Bile Titans simply don't seem to step on them because their legs are too thin

Idea: Throw down AT mines. Throw down tesla tower immediately on top of it. Charger will no longer kill it. Probably. Maybe.

The reduced aoe is probably to make them act more like a shape charge
The mines are best used with turrets.
A turret in a mine field is protected against chargers.
I want to like the arc thrower but I still see that it sometimes doesn't shoot at the enemies if a little piece of their body is behind a rock.

Theres alot of chargers from time to time so AT mines are good choice on high difficulty due to more chargers.
