See Taylor had been dating Calvin who is very controlling, but in the beginning he made her fall for him. They dated for a while and then wrote a song for Rihanna together. He used a pseudonym for her name and then went on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show and some others saying that he and Taylor had not collaborated. That was the final straw for Taylor. So she skipped out on him and attending the Met Gala solo. This was her first encounter with Joe Alwyn and she thought he was hot, but they did not talk. She was seated near Tom Hiddleston (Loki in the Thor movies). They drank and danced together all night and she left with him in his car. (Hence she says in the song... “she wanted to leave him” talking about Harris but “needed a reason”. She found one. They dated for a short time and then she met Joe again and so she broke it if with Tom.... the part about stealing the keys and that was the last time Tom saw her because she traded for Joe. I love the metaphors and her lyricism on how she tells this story. She is such a genius songwriter. She finds ways to say things with out saying it directly! **Sorry this was so long. I’m new here.
