The mobile gaming industry is so dirty. It's filled with microtransactions trying to get the most money out of you possible for mediocre gaming experiences.
Clearly, Blizzard tried to get a part of the financial cake of that market with Diablo:Immortal.
I hope they learned their lesson and I salute to all men and women opposing a shift to mobile gaming.

having played marvel contest of champions for 2 years, i can say this is so true. it is a toxic gaming exoerience with micro transactions and new monthly updates with bugs that just happen to force you to spend more money, not to mention feeding off gambling addictions.

This is only a minor project - Blizz tried to kill the hype for this announcement from click-bait game journalists who were talking "Diablo 4"
"While we won’t be ready to announce all of our projects, we do intend to share some Diablo-related news with you at the show." - meaning they are working on Diablo stuff... but in typical blizz fashion, it'll be done when it's done. It took 12 years for D3. The mobile game is a different team, using Diablo IP. Blizz was well aware the core fanbase was likely going to be underwhelmed, but with Diablo 3 heading to the Switch they figured a mobile game could be neat.
Again, I am not making a judgement as I haven't played it yet, but to think this is ALL blizz is working on when it comes to Diablo is not true.

I feel like you don't get how "often" Blizzard Releases sequels to games... Starcraft came out in 1998, Starcraft 2 came out 12 years later. D2, again, was out in 2000, D3 came out 12 years later. So... it's not been a decade yet, it's likely too soon to expect a sequel.

All of these are AAA games, both costly and time consuming to make.
And that’s only 4 of 7 projects they showed. They too announced a mobile game, 2 infact, but are actually productive enough as a company and in touch enough with their audience, to not have it as the star attraction. I get that blizzard (traditionally at least) wants to make high quality games and that takes time, but for a company of its magnitude it feels like they barely release anything, at least when compared to a comparatively smaller company like Bethesda. We should have gotten WC3 announced last year along side BFA and Classic, and we should have got D2 remaster AND D4 announced this year, heck they could have thrown in the crummy mobile game like Bethesda. What do you do with yourself all day Blizzard??

They honestly could have just announced this in a twitter post and avoided this altogether. I think people wouldve understood if it was just like oh okay they're makin some little mobile thing. Instead they treated it like the big reveal of blizzcon to a group of pc players. hell even console players should be angry. Well yeah when you announce some cash grab mobile play thing as your keynote reveal to a group of hardcore fans that paid tons of money to come to your convention are going to be pissed.
They could have did what bethesda did...they made fallout shelter to tide over players until FO4 and it was fine. Why didn't they work on this as filler unti Diablo 4 was released. I read some reviews saying it was disrespectful. But what I don’t get is when so many people so obviously want something that they can do why don’t they just deliver it? Is that not disrespectful to the community who helped build the foundation that now carries blizzard. The reality is a diablo 2 remastered would have made people more happy than this mobile monstrosity and it would have taken LESS work and the sad thing is blizzard KNOWS this. This is not about keeping the fan base happy anymore. There is obviously some kind of altering agenda within the company not wanting to launch the game. I would like to think it was a business move based on “profits” but to me that makes no sense , if they made the next diablo something that someone had to be older than 3 years old to play it would make money...

I was 3 when Diablo came out. I played it, and it scared me shitless. I love that it scared me shitless. Guess what? I went back and played it years later, and each stairwell downward. Every door unopened being a potential death trap in a game where you literally decend into Hell itself. That game remastered would still give me a feeling of trepidation. I loved that game. Diablo 2 was a lot kinder, but it was still challenging there were mini bosses that were damn near impossible to kill depending on their traits. Diablo 3 I didn’t die ONCE. I said fuck it I’ll try hardcore mode. I have a Max Level Barbarian! Blizzard has shit on Diablo for over a decade. Taking years to develop a subpar dungeon crawler that is no where near its predecessors. Path of Exile is a truer sequel! Not even in the same universe! Now we’re making Diablo Mobile, and PG?! Fuck Blizzard they deserve to go under after what they did to Diablo, and the way they milk WoW.

I didnt get to play D1 and D2 in its glory years, but let me tell you: the moment i started playing this i was hooked, like, really hooked. In less than two months i already had a lvl 80 WW barb, and halfway done with other builds.
So to see what this legend of game came to be today is no short of frustrating, sad, and depressing.
Hope someone can fix this insanity!
