In Brazil, Toyota still build the FJ45, double cab, called Bandeirante. Toyota uses the OM314 engine, an engine that is known for endurance, from Mercedes-Benz. Know the old 508D truck, or older Unimog? Well, that would explain the reliability perhaps.
Yes, the 4.5 cannot tow as comfortably as the 2.8. With the manual transmission you have more control off-road, I agree. Which would you go for between the two?
Forget the 4.5. With todays economy why put yourself in a situation of shelling out more for feul just for vanity sake. Performance - you would STILL have to spend more on your V8 to enhense it's engin performance. Just way too costly and as it gets older your still paying too much for feul. I guess some people can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The single cab has 2 90l tanks which is equivalent to 180l....not 130l
Thanks for the clarity Sandile.
If I were to spend the money for a good truck I'd definitely go for the 8 pistons. Feels good thought
Definitely a beast.
Interesting. Here in Australia the single cab only has a single 130 litre fuel tank now.
That’s interesting to know.
I’ve been looking for this one ☝🏾

I wasn’t aware of this, thank you for sharing. Very helpful to know that reliability comes with years of experience.
Id definitely buy the 4.5 .. it being an emotional decision Ofcourse 😂
Auto and 6 speed ? Interesting …
There by safety , major major upgrade
Bro, that V8 is a legend man. It’s almost impossible to overlook it. Yes, nice safety additions definitely.
Torque is good on 2.8, am not a fan of auto transmission. I like the front indicators. 4.5 struggles with power to weight ratio

@@maxlodewyk_na I’ll definitely go for the V8, the engine just sounds good
@yctestdrive I agree.
The 2.8 is Tuned to the tits whereas the 4.5L has more room fro growth if you want to get it upgraded.
@The_Scouts_Code yes, that 4.5 is literally a blank canvass.
There’s no V8 at Indongo Toyota yet apparently.

Yes, as they say some people buy vehicles with their emotions.
Also less oil on smaller engine
@@omarnic2007 true.
I love this review but I’m gonna need you to do a review of that GR86 in the back 😂.
😂😂😂
I’ll try and convince them to let me do one.
حلم حياتي ان أشترى مثل هذه السيارة ❤
One day, remain hopeful.
I do not know towing power because the v8 I have saw it towing a truck with logs in mpumalanga province JTL transport in Amsterdam
Muhteşem ötesi çok güzel 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I was today years old when I found out this car falls under Toyota and why so many people dream of owning one.😅
I am definitely here to inform you. Did you know that this is Randy's dream car?
@maxlodewyk_na I did and never understood the hype until now. The 4.5 V8 is an upgrade from the 2.8, but shu, the 2.8GD6 remains such a beauty.
I want a news 1989 Toyota truck
Wish we had these in Canada. We have all the new crappy Toyotas. Poor quality.
The Landcruiser is definitely built to last.
