Hie.. great work. I wanted to ask if it's possible to swap my cr12de with a cr12de engine as mine smokes in the morning

Hi there, reading this you have mentioned two identical engine codes? If the engine has come from another micra of the same year and its the same capacity i cant see any issues. Problems might arise if you tried to put a 1.4 from a note into a micra. Im sure it could be done but you could face wiring and ECU related issues.

Great work! Such a shame that the customer didn't want to pay a little extra for a new clutch. I understand money can be you get but it's only a little more after the big cost of changing the engine and will cost more to do later than it would while the engine is out ...

I think the clutch that went into it having come from the lower mileage engine will probably last as long as the rest of the car, a clutches longevity depends more so on the style of the driver much more than any other factor.

How many hours has you spent to change the engine? Thanks in advance

Hi there, cant really remember. I took a few hours in the evenings/weekends after work and then was recording the process. Im not a full time mechanic this whole thing and youtube is just a bit of a past time for me outside of work so the how long does a process take question i am not great at answering.
If you went at it should be something that can be done in a day.

amazing work out there! What is your opinion about the timing chain on this model? do the timing chain needs to be replaced? I have 220 000 km and I still have the original timing chain. Is it designed to last the entire life of the car ? Keep up the good work!

I generally think with these engines is if they don't make a timing chain noise they are ok. If you keep on top of the oil changes then the chian should not give any problems. It will start to get clattery and rattle rather than suddenly snap. If it get to the point where it is a bit rattly then consider changing it.
I have never done a timing chain on these engines but it would not be uncommon for them to need it, but that is mainly on cars that have sludgey oil caused by infrequent changes.

    Good morning
Where can I purchase a bottom half AK 12 engine or cr12

I bought this whole engine from a local scrapyard, given these engines are fairly reliable your more likely to get a full engine than the bottom end.
