How can a show that almost 60 years old, lack the unprofessionalism of not telling the actors who play major characters that they are being written out? Makes me sick. Yes, people come and go on soaps all the time..it happens. But to have no regard for Freddie and Chandler by letting them or their agents know they are being written out prior to their last six episodes is disgraceful. Hopefully a web series or a quick return is in the future.

This was great. I just recently watched all of the years compiled on YT. I finally got the entire story. Nothing short of amazing! The passion and emotion pulled me in from the beginning and kept me there until the end. Hoping you two team up again soon.

when viewers stop watching, see what days doesn't realize or care how many of their viewers are BIG Wilson fans forever, but Chandler knew, sure Freddie does to. on their last episode Will's, Sonny's or both, apparently Chandler is on a CPL more weeks than Freddie, but we they're both gone, u just wait, ratings are going to plumit, and NBC will be losing that money, they'll have to ax it to avoid losing ANYMORE PRECIOUS MONEY.
I am heartbroken! I’m so upset. Days has made a lot of stupid decisions but this has got to be the worst. You are such incredible actors and had such a great story to tell. And watching this podcast, I just can see how much you care about each other and also your characters. It’s hard enough to try and watch the show now, but without Will and Sonny it will almost be impossible. Maybe you could do a web series. Lots of possibilities out there.
Ericka Hanson I agree; they’ve made so many STUPID decisions, like bringing people back to life in other people’s bodies, and other ridiculous crap. I know it’s a soap, so it’s obviously not going to be realistic, but when it’s so RIDICULOUS that you’re embarassed to be watching it? And to find out they treat two of their major players like dirt! I’m REALLY disappointed with them & would like to tell whoever’s responsible what COWARDS they were for not telling them properly!
Why would they even consider keeping characters like Lani and Eli whose barely been on the show but they want to get rid of the ones that we tune in to watch every day.

I applaud you both for being so respectful. Had no idea they let actors go in such a cheesy way. I’m not sure if I will be able to continue watching Days knowing how things behind the scenes are. Will & Sonny did have flaws, DOOL just didn’t exploit them. Sonny’s perfect disposition, is a HUGE flaw!!! And that could cause so many issues. Will’s insecurities, and self loathing from the past, could really create stories for the character. The writers, just didn’t go there.

Ashamed? They gave us the first LGBTQ supercouple of the show for 9 years. At least a little gratitude for this wouldn't kill you. It's not like they decided to go backwards in 2020.
They just made a big mistake by letting go of Will and Sonny instead of Xander Nicole and Sarah which I'm not sure what is the purpose of her being on the show at all.

Well the WilSon departure is just lousy news, and leaves me with that knot-in-the-stomach feeling. I could write a book about how much this story line has meant to me over these last however many years, BUT BUT BUT the fact that this story even existed at all is the overwhelming positive that I choose to focus on. First of all, a shout out to the writers who crafted such an extraordinary story, dialogue, scenes, situations, characters, you all got it really right and I know that because I have lived that life. And Freddy and Alyssa, I hope you will have some of them, and maybe the producers, on your show. I would really like to know a lot more about the process that led to the finished product, how it was created and how it was sustained. And then to the producers, who had the vision, the temerity, the confidence and the cajones to push for this in 2011 and to make it actually happen. WOW! Finally to the actors. How extraordinary that you and Chandler don't even need a second take when you are filming. How amazing that you nail the emotions, the nuances, the hopes and fears and trials and experiences and love of people who are different enough from you that you do not and cannot directly experience them as they do. How do you do that? How do you know, and how remarkable that you care that much, and that you're proud of your work, and that you realize how important it has been to so many people. I am now doubly glad that I flew across the country last November specifically to meet you two at Day of Days. I'll just say now what I told you each then, that in my now relatively long life I have seen things that I never thought I would live to see, but if you had told me in 2011 that two young straight guys were going to play two young gay guys in love in recurring roles on national tv, and make it work in spades, and have it last for 7, 8, 9 years and win awards and win over hearts and minds I would have immediately called bullshit. No way, not gonna happen in my lifetime. Too hard, too nuanced, to much societal backlash, too much sponsor regret, too many hurdles, etc.. And then you guys hit a home run. The rest, as they say, is history. Whatever comes from now on, we'll always have WilSon. Well done! And I hope your idea to get some more story out of this couple gets some traction somewhere. Thanks for all of it.
Just finished watching at 3.27 am malaysian time. The highlights that i love from this podcast : 1) Love that you guys still able to keep it cool and calm about the entire thing and even laugh a little about it. Alyssa said exactly what i personally thought too, that this could be a blessing in disguise for both of you. 2) I love Chandler's idea about if one of you wins the emmy this year, both of you will be up on stage receiving the award together. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY DO THAT. Coz you both deserves it. 3) And i also thought exactly the same about doing some sort of like a spinoff show just for Wilson (if you guys never get the call back). Heck, you guys can even make your own show with different names but it will be centered around the both of you. You guys should consider doing that! 4) Freddie's fan event idea is absolutely amazing about celebrating the fans! I just hope you will do it later in the year (say Oct or Nov) so that i will have enough money to save to go there! ;) I am from Malaysia so it will costs me quite some money but it'll definitely worth it to see you guys and spend some timewith you two. Meeting Freddie (And Alyssa & Eric Martsolf) last year was such a memorable moment in my life. I don't regret anything. It was worth every penny. Whatever it is, i love you guys and hope you know it.

Only just got round to watching this. While I am shocked by the news, like Chandler said, this will nudge you in different directions and we are all excited to see what's next. I just want to thank both of you for portraying Will and Sonny in the most perfect way. I'm from the UK so it's been very hard to keep up with the show but I have always found a way to keep up. I won't stop keeping up to date with whatever you guys do next and PLEASE get Chandler on the podcast again from time to time!

I may have accidentally discovered Wilson in 2017 but my lord what a discovery. I have had the privilege to come out to LA and meet you both and wish all the luck and adventures for the futures (London and the UK is a fun place to stretch the wheelhouse of acting *hint* lol) I’m glad you are at a stage of laughter of your treatment, I am not I am disappointed in the cowardice and disrespect that they have shown you both.
I remember first being introduced to Sonny and Will when I was about 16 years old. My mom has watched days ever since she was a little girl and related to Hope and Jennifer...I watched the show occasionally with her, but when the whole Will comming out plot started, I literally would not miss an episode anymore. It showed me that being different was alright. It showed me acceptancd and love. Sonny and Will are the very first tv couple that I got invested in and to this day, they are my absolute favorite. My heart is broken but all I can say is a huge thank you for putting your heart and your soul into these charactors.
Ok...I got to minute 55 and I can’t take it. I am so excited. HEAR ME OUT. I was thinking what you and Chandler JUST SAID. Go see a lawyer, entertainment-copyright-contract lawyer and continue the story in YOUR OWN FORMAT!! The reason I say this is that your story is VALID for so many people and the LGTB community, as opposed to the brain implant story, (that one isnt so realistic), and LITERALLY the fans will follow YOU!!!! Days will take notice. Also, if you politely toddle off peacefully, they could bring back a different Will or a different Sonny and that would be an impossible adjustment. You two were trailblazers with the gay theme, be a trail blazer with the fired theme. Fire them BACK so to speak, (peacefully, happily, politely, of course), and that will open negotiations. FURTHERMORE, Days has been doing so many new things like streaming, the Paris clips, the time jump; that this is not out of left field, it is not pathetic, it is not bullyish or a bad reaction, it is you and Chandler having FUN. In this day and age, ANYTHING GOES. Look how youtube yook over TV!! Your fans will follow. Monetize baby, monetize!! I’ll pay asubscription fee to watch you two continue. As a fan you two are warm characters and feel like “coming home” as opposed to brain chips and Prague and other weirdness. No offense toKristian but if I have a complaint, its the writing staff.

Totally heartbroken. So many characters that should be shown the door first. I have lived this storyline with you from the beginning and to have it leaving...too much. And I am totally disgusted that, not only the only gay couple on the show is being let go, but the best love story. When you two are done, I am done with Days. No reason left for me to watch. I for one will not be watching this after Will and Sonny are gone but I think that the writers of days of our lives need to reconsider writing Will and Sonny off because they are most likely going to lose viewers.
Tameka Swindle I like Xander and Sara, they need to get rid of Hope, she’s completely played out, just like Hunter Tylo in Bold and Beautiful, where both production and the actress agreed that the character Taylor had done every possible storyline that could be told and it was time to go, Hope needs the same talk.

I've been watching Days since 1977 and I was just curious where you saw these spoilers about older characters returning? As a long time viewer I think that's kind of cool. Obviously you weren't watching before Wilson. I may be wrong.
I started watching DOOL with my Mom as a little kid. Marlena was married to Don! Don`t get me wrong, I love the older characters, like Maggie, Victor, Doug, Julie and Marlena! I love watching the three of you interact. I was brought into Days as an orphan of OLTL and AMC and got drawn in by the WilSon story. Love the characters. Love that you guys didn't just portray noble sidekicks but really had a bit of drama in your story; as a gay man, I appreciate that. Also, I think that you guys seem to have a great rapport in real life--I hope you guys are really friends and remain so through your lives because you'll have some good memories to share. Guys, what amazing people you are! I think that is one of the main reasons your characters took off to such great lengths and became so loved and accepted. Looking in from the outside, it's quite easy to see reflections of both your real selves carry through in Will and Sonny. In listening to this show today, kudos to you both for you humor, your attitudes and your undying positive outlook throughout this blindsighting! After listening to all of your thoughts and anticipations (or not!), I was thinking, you will be back! For decades, isn't it true that Days been notorious for cutting top characters, often killing them off, (Will, Jack, EJ, Nicole... off the top to mention just a few...), only to bring them back again? Almost always right? I can't see that not happening for 'Wilson'. Actually, Chandler, you've kinda been there, done that already, so to speak, correct? I think the way they cut you both short was pretty shady and chickenshit, but hey, loyalty and gratitude are to some, sling talk and nothing more. We as a faultering society have learned to just roll with it, I guess. I want to mention, Alyssa, I always enjoy you as well! I'm sure that it is not personal. You two are the best and most popular actors on the show. No matter what the reason your producers have disrespected you both, even if it was not intentional. They have created an uncomfortable work environment which is not cool. They have made it uncomfortable for the cast members as well and it's just not right. They play mind games with everyone. The light at the end of the tunnel is that there are an abundance of opportunities for you. So get busy boys we can't wait to see in movies and other business adventures.

How can a show that almost 60 years old, lack the unprofessionalism of not telling the actors who play major characters that they are being written out? Makes me sick. Yes, people come and go on soaps all the time..it happens. But to have no regard for Freddie and Chandler by letting them or their agents know they are being written out prior to their last six episodes is disgraceful. Hopefully a web series or a quick return is in the future.

I am heartbroken! I’m so upset. Days has made a lot of stupid decisions but this has got to be the worst. You are such incredible actors and had such a great story to tell. And watching this podcast, I just can see how much you care about each other and also your characters. It’s hard enough to try and watch the show now, but without Will and Sonny it will almost be impossible. Maybe you could do a web series. Lots of possibilities out there.

Will & Sonny did have flaws, DOOL just didn’t exploit them. Sonny’s perfect disposition, is a HUGE flaw!!! And that could cause so many issues. Will’s insecurities, and self loathing from the past, could really create stories for the character. The writers, just didn’t go there.

Well the WilSon departure is just lousy news, and leaves me with that knot-in-the-stomach feeling. I could write a book about how much this story line has meant to me over these last however many years, BUT BUT BUT the fact that this story even existed at all is the overwhelming positive that I choose to focus on. First of all, a shout out to the writers who crafted such an extraordinary story, dialogue, scenes, situations, characters, you all got it really right and I know that because I have lived that life. And Freddy and Alyssa, I hope you will have some of them, and maybe the producers, on your show. I would really like to know a lot more about the process that led to the finished product, how it was created and how it was sustained. And then to the producers, who had the vision, the temerity, the confidence and the cajones to push for this in 2011 and to make it actually happen. WOW! Finally to the actors. How extraordinary that you and Chandler don't even need a second take when you are filming. How amazing that you nail the emotions, the nuances, the hopes and fears and trials and experiences and love of people who are different enough from you that you do not and cannot directly experience them as they do. How do you do that? How do you know, and how remarkable that you care that much, and that you're proud of your work, and that you realize how important it has been to so many people. I am now doubly glad that I flew across the country last November specifically to meet you two at Day of Days. I'll just say now what I told you each then, that in my now relatively long life I have seen things that I never thought I would live to see, but if you had told me in 2011 that two young straight guys were going to play two young gay guys in love in recurring roles on national tv, and make it work in spades, and have it last for 7, 8, 9 years and win awards and win over hearts and minds I would have immediately called bullshit. No way, not gonna happen in my lifetime. Too hard, too nuanced, to much societal backlash, too much sponsor regret, too many hurdles, etc.. And then you guys hit a home run. The rest, as they say, is history. Whatever comes from now on, we'll always have WilSon. Well done! And I hope your idea to get some more story out of this couple gets some traction somewhere. Thanks for all of it.

Just finished watching at 3.27 am malaysian time. The highlights that i love from this podcast :
1) Love that you guys still able to keep it cool and calm about the entire thing and even laugh a little about it. Alyssa said exactly what i personally thought too, that this could be a blessing in disguise for both of you.
2) I love Chandler's idea about if one of you wins the emmy this year, both of you will be up on stage receiving the award together. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY DO THAT. Coz you both deserves it.
3) And i also thought exactly the same about doing some sort of like a spinoff show just for Wilson (if you guys never get the call back). Heck, you guys can even make your own show with different names but it will be centered around the both of you. You guys should consider doing that!
4) Freddie's fan event idea is absolutely amazing about celebrating the fans! I just hope you will do it later in the year (say Oct or Nov) so that i will have enough money to save to go there! ;)
I am from Malaysia so it will costs me quite some money but it'll definitely worth it to see you guys and spend some timewith you two.
Meeting Freddie (And Alyssa & Eric Martsolf) last year was such a memorable moment in my life. I don't regret anything. It was worth every penny.

Only just got round to watching this. While I am shocked by the news, like Chandler said, this will nudge you in different directions and we are all excited to see what's next. I just want to thank both of you for portraying Will and Sonny in the most perfect way. I'm from the UK so it's been very hard to keep up with the show but I have always found a way to keep up. I won't stop keeping up to date with whatever you guys do next and PLEASE get Chandler on the podcast again from time to time!

They did the same to Bryan Datillo! Reading the script for his final scenes, was how he found out his character was departing the show.
I think the writer of this show in charge of the hiring and firing , has totally ruined this show! And to let people go in such a way. After 40 some years i think i am done! No respect shown to the actors, so no respect to watch it anymore!

I remember first being introduced to Sonny and Will when I was about 16 years old. My mom has watched days ever since she was a little girl and related to Hope and Jennifer...I watched the show occasionally with her, but when the whole Will comming out plot started, I literally would not miss an episode anymore. It showed me that being different was alright. It showed me acceptancd and love.
Sonny and Will are the very first tv couple that I got invested in and to this day, they are my absolute favorite.
My heart is broken but all I can say is a huge thank you for putting your heart and your soul into these charactors.
Ok...I got to minute 55 and I can’t take it. I am so excited. HEAR ME OUT. I was thinking what you and Chandler JUST SAID. Go see a lawyer, entertainment-copyright-contract lawyer and continue the story in YOUR OWN FORMAT!! The reason I say this is that your story is VALID for so many people and the LGTB community, as opposed to the brain implant story, (that one isnt so realistic), and LITERALLY the fans will follow YOU!!!! Days will take notice. Also, if you politely toddle off peacefully, they could bring back a different Will or a different Sonny and that would be an impossible adjustment. You two were trailblazers with the gay theme, be a trail blazer with the fired theme. Fire them BACK so to speak, (peacefully, happily, politely, of course), and that will open negotiations. FURTHERMORE, Days has been doing so many new things like streaming, the Paris clips, the time jump; that this is not out of left field, it is not pathetic, it is not bullyish or a bad reaction, it is you and Chandler having FUN. In this day and age, ANYTHING GOES. Look how youtube yook over TV!! Your fans will follow. Monetize baby, monetize!! I’ll pay asubscription fee to watch you two continue. And I am totally disgusted that, not only the only gay couple on the show is being let go, but the best love story. When you two are done, I am done with Days. No reason left for me to watch. I started watching DOOL with my Mom as a little kid. Marlena was married to Don! Don`t get me wrong, I love the older characters, like Maggie, Victor, Doug, Julie and Marlena! I love watching the three of you interact. I was brought into Days as an orphan of OLTL and AMC and got drawn in by the WilSon story. Love the characters. Love that you guys didn't just portray noble sidekicks but really had a bit of drama in your story; as a gay man, I appreciate that. I just wanted to thank you and Chandler for your honesty and candor. I respect you so much for your attitude and trying to see the positives. Personally I will miss your characters and I am sad. But you are both gifted actors and I know your futures are bright. I also know Days will ask you to return. I hope when that day comes you both are in a position to consider it. What have I just watched? Through the whole hour I was waiting for one of you to break the 4th wall & say “ KIDDING!” because you both are supreme pranksters. If WilSon is gone from Days, then I’m gone too. Your storyline has been a personal one for me & my kids, and I’ll forever be grateful to you both & TPTB for this experience. If you’re keeping track with hash marks, put me in favor of a spin-off with aliases or whatever you decide to do in order to keep this story going. WilSon has every reason to pop up anywhere in the world and continue a life together under assumed names. ALSO sign me up for an ‘addicts anon’ type fundraiser/event to help fund this new project. That was a crazy fun weekend & I’d pitch in again in a heartbeat.

Thank you Freddie and Alyssa for having Chandler on to discuss your departure in depth. I love the characters of Will and Sonny so much. (also you Freddie and Chandler as actors as well. You both are great) You guys shed light on what is was like to be gay from the characters perspective. Your story of Will and Sonny will help the LGBTQ community. Thank you for working as hard as you did to portray a gay couple that really loved each other and had their challenges. It really sucks that Days, your agents etc. didn't personally let you know that you were being let go. That's a really shitty thing to do. I loved watching Will and Sonny's lives unfold. I'm going to miss the characters and the two of you on screen. Good luck to the both of you on your future endeavours. Hopefully Will and Sonny will come back to Days.

Guys, what amazing people you are! I think that is one of the main reasons your characters took off to such great lengths and became so loved and accepted. Looking in from the outside, it's quite easy to see reflections of both your real selves carry through in Will and Sonny. In listening to this show today, kudos to you both for you humor, your attitudes and your undying positive outlook throughout this blindsighting! After listening to all of your thoughts and anticipations (or not!), I was thinking, you will be back! For decades, isn't it true that Days been notorious for cutting top characters, often killing them off, (Will, Jack, EJ, Nicole... off the top to mention just a few...), only to bring them back again? Almost always right? I can't see that not happening for 'Wilson'. Actually, Chandler, you've kinda been there, done that already, so to speak, correct? I think the way they cut you both short was pretty shady and chickenshit, but hey, loyalty and gratitude are to some, sling talk and nothing more. We as a faultering society have learned to just roll with it, I guess.
I want to mention, Alyssa, I always enjoy you as well! Your contributions really make this show complete and balance everything out just right!

I'm sure that it is not personal. You two are the best and most popular actors on the show. No matter what the reason your producers have disrespected you both, even if it was not intentional. They have created an uncomfortable work environment which is not cool. They have made it uncomfortable for the cast members as well and it's just not right. They play mind games with everyone. The light at the end of the tunnel is that there are an abundance of opportunities for you. So get busy boys we can't wait to see in movies and other business adventures.
Part of me feels like it's the writers not coming up with good enough material in order for the corporate folks to keep them on :-(

I'm surprised no call from Corday saying thanks for the great stories. He brought back Will from the dead in a huge story. I wonder what Deidre Hall thinks about this. And to be given a script and then just it ends with no call. Just no more contract. Horrible business.
