Idk if this is still relevant. That you can execute Steve's shoryuken from mid-range similar to any of his PKB's moves.
You should teach a course on how to play Steve. You play him so well, but crazy unique compared to most people. Its honestly mesmerizing. I watch these to inspire myself to climb out of red ranks with Steve.
Thanks Joe... I plan on making a new talking video soon about the mental aspects of playing Tekken / how to improve / etc. There are so many mindgames going on during a long set... and I realized there are mental concepts I use that not many other FGC players / TH-camrs ever talk about. Just wanted to say here: Wonderful match.
Limited combos. Rudimentary spacing. Both of these, in addition to beginning attack strings with an aerial or sweep, tells me that this opponent of yours was a student of Street Fighter. That would explain his Akuma preference. Anywho, it's nice to see how a side-scroller would adapt to something with three dimensions. Over time, you steadily adapted to his fighting style, to the point that you continually exposed his methods. Of course, that's always a cornerstone to fighting games -- contain your opponent in a constant state of vulnerability and susceptibility, leading them straight into your trail of setups. Granted, he was a couple Dans (experience levels, you get my point) below you, but that can only defend someone so much. I'm sure this was a wonderful teaching experience for him in terms of tactics and technicals. Keep up the great work, Yagami! 👍🏾
Excellent, excellent comment my friend. 👍🏼 This is one of the magical things I love about Tekken 7. It only took a few rounds to safely assume this Akuma player is perhaps a player with more Street Fighter experience than Tekken experience (or at least playing that way).
He even got some very Street Fighter style tactics to work on me... and it's when you're getting hit that you learn the most about your opponent. Once he began to show his limitations, I opened up and tried to show him some things maybe he's never seen. 😁 Thus, we had a fun set.
I love helping players from other fighting games get better at Tekken. I need to do some talking videos on this topic because I can go into a lot more detail. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration as always 24 Klassics!

Apologies for the inaccuracy, bruv -- educated guesses are still guesses nevertheless. I still feel as if your tactics are more suited for Street Fighter as they are now. Repeated projectiles as a spacing/zoning/measuring tactic is rendered relatively obsolete when it's realized that sidestepping is equally effective as jumping, if not aggressively more so. Worse off in regards to facing Steve, who can initiate Peek-A-Boo and advance further whilst ducking said projectiles. Tekken itself is a lot more specific, precise and dexterous with the flow of combat being combo-featured and thus available for tactical predictions. But I digress. Point is, there was quite a handful of 2D-fighter-themed tactics I saw here that would be proven wholly moot in a fighter like Tekken, Soul Calibur or even Absolver. In any case, that's all I have to say. Acknowledge this however you shall. Really good matches you two. c:

Yeah, it's me. Yagami. I change my playstyle depending on my mood sometimes. It's also known to change depending on how much caffeine intake I've had that day.

As a new Steve player I have some doubts.
1. What do you do if the opponent crouches when you do Duck? Or he crouch jabs you?
2. How do you pressure in Peekabo? Whenever I go near opponent in the stance, they throw a low and I am bad at quickly downbacking. And isnt the down jab from Peekabo slow?
3. I need some general advice on playing offence with Steve, I defend always. And I am scared of getting hit when going forward so I hold back all the time.
I play tekken 6 tho. Still there isnt much difference except 1/2 new moves
1. Low parry if you expecy a crouch jab.
2. Pressure with 1 or df1, but be sure to use mix-ups... going in and out of peekabo. If you mixup enough, your opponent will hesitate... that's when you pressure.
3. Movement is key. Punish properly and use lots of mix-ups and a variety of combos. Also, Steve has a lot more than 1-2 new moves compared to his Tekken 6 version.

I undertsand now the pressure doesnt work properly for me cos i play against bots🙁. I think I can do it well when I get Tekken 7 and play against real players. I know its stupid playing against bots but thats all I can do now. I am a Tekken lover who cant play it. So I make do with what I got. Thank you for ur amazing videos, we get to learn a lot of things. 😘
