Every fucking year even after his death thanks to the permission she (and Aphrodite) was granted by Zeus. Hades cheated only twice because there aren’t many myths about him. He was viewed as a narcissistic short tempered god of death. The greeks didn’t love him that much. That’s why there are not many myths about him. Zeus punished Prometheus because he disobeyed his order and because he challenged him by doing so. Zeus knew that the humans were not ready for the fire. That myth show that the fire brought knowledge,wars and deaths in Greece. Even if it was a gift from Prometheus...it still brought ruin to humanity from a certain point of view. Zeus is the god of justice. He didn’t participate in the war of Troy. He didn’t choose sides because it would have brought only chaos in Olympus (at first he sided like the other gods but then he decided not to and prohibited the other gods to do so too... because the other gods were being too invasive in a war between humans)and He also sided with ares when his daughter was raped by Poseidon’s son and ares killed him because of that. Poseidon went to Zeus to ask justice for his son but Zeus (even though he didn’t like ares) sided with ares. Zeus is more than an horny narcissist god as he is depicted in many fan fictions.

Hades was not viewed as a narcissistic and short tempered god, Hades was feared by the greeks because he was the God of Death. The only anger he has was that not many greeks prayed and worship him even though he was the God of wealth and riches(not just the ruler of underworld and the God of death). There weren't even much myths about him getting angry. Prometheus only helped humankind, he did not challenged Zeus. Zeus arrogance thought Prometheus challenge him because he did not followed his order. Zeus did not give human fire because he saw fire brought war, Zeus didn't give human fire because he feared that Man will be equal standing with the gods. Zeus believed that fire was one of the elements that allowed humans to stand in reverence of the gods. His belief was that as long as human remained in "darkness" (fire = light), they would be submissive to the gods' will. He believed that giving man fire would cause the gods to have lost some of their "lustre" in the eyes of man. In some respects, he was right, for once Prometheus gave fire to man, he also told them how to trick Zeus using fire and animal sacrifice. For his part, Zeus did not take too kindly to be ridiculed and punished both man and Prometheus in a very swift and brutal manner.
Only reason Zeus did not participate is because he was afraid of his wife, Hera. He was rooting for the trojans even though knowing they will lose. He agrees to let Troy fall so he does not face an uprising on Mount Olympus. The majority of the gods and goddesses detest the Trojans, so Zeus knows the Achaeans must win. The only good thing he did was sided with Ares for defending his daughters honor. The daughter who was raped by Poseidon's son, kinda ironic for Zeus when he raped countless woman. The good things his done was very little compared to the bad shit his done. No matter how you say it Zeus was narcissistic and a horny greek god. You can't deny that after countless of evidence he left behind in Greece.
One of the best scenes of this season hands down really felt that love.

I feel sad about the group of people killed after the giants body was found to be hidden. Was hoping the large amazon and the Thebans (who are the guys who defeated the Spartans) would make it instead of the usual "kill everyone but the main group"

They showed Zeus to be very flawed, but someone who tries to get back up. Hera is the one with anger (which is to be expected for the given circumstances), which shows in how possessive she is over Zeus, it turned her to blind hate. No one's to blame here, its a tragedy, though I think in the last moment he won her over. Well, they both lost their ways, starting with Zeus, but somewhere inside, probably, they loved each other very deeply as well, thus explains her anger, also his sacrifice.
The music is phenomenal.

@Nessie Flores Seriously, I understand her going after the women who slept with Zeus even though they know he is married and his real identity. However, she harassed even women who refused Zeus' advances and were forced to sleep with him. I'm not even going to talk about the children who were innocent and yet were cursed by her. There is still the case of hefestus and several others. Another case that I remember was a prophet who was attacked by two snakes and because he killed only the female (as if he cared about it in front of snakes 🙄) Hera turned him into a woman and in the future blinded him due to not having agreed with her. Hera can be as bad as Zeus and she has done other shit in the original mythology. Here they even made her less hateful. I think people just focus on the cheating part and forget everything else 🙄
Powerhouse animation is incredible. Both this and Castlevania are able to evoke such emotion through anime that it is unreal. Something very few traditional series can capture. It's a breathe of fresh air honestly.

Okay lemme tell you the significance of this scene. If you payed attention before Hera asked Zeus a question. " Did you ever truly love me " Zeus did not answer the question. Later on Zeus went to check on Heron and his mom and she said, " if you truly loved me you'd take us away from here but you fear Hera more than you love me " I believe this was said because the only reason why Zeus slept with her was because she was around and was in need of saving as Hera is independent and did not really ever need Zeus to begin with. This scene however answers Hera's previous question " did you ever truly love me " and the answer is Yes this all came back full circle.
Actually when she asks him if he ever loved him he answers "of course". Then she asks him if he ever loved Heron's mom and he doesn't answer to that question, and that's when she really gets pissed and decides to start a war lol.

I actually really like this analysis and it makes sense to me. He loved both women in different ways. But what really stands out is that he didn't hesitate in saying, nor deny that he loved Hera. Its definitely the most prominent (especially towards the end of the season). However, out of all his affairs he did fell in love with Electra. It's not just the hedonism he committed, but also loving another woman. And that's the part that really, truly hurt Hera the most. And when people are hurt, they want to hurt others. Zeus committed the ultimate betrayal that really sent his wife over the edge.

@Serron Serron everyone has a breaking point. The first season is about exploring anger and power and how it affects dynamics. Imagine being the goddess of marriage/ family that's constantly being betrayed and disrespected by your significant other for centuries. Plus, the gods have extremely heightened emotions and are as flawed as humans. So when a god is very pissed off, very bitter and deeply saddened, they go overboard. Hera was consumed by so much rage and bitterness that she went too far. That is her greatest tragedy. Especially at the end with her "Oh my God, what have I done!?"moment.
When you know the history, this can also be the jealous sibling dynamic.

Theory: When Zeus first rescued Hera from the tornado giant during the first war, it was the first time he ever blinked at her, and possibly the only time, until this scene. That is why Hera immediately remembers how Zeus rescued her from the giant, and it might've reminded her of the love she once bore for him, only to see him get destroyed seconds later. Which is why she suddenly seems remorseful, and grasps for his crown, as a desperate attempt to attain a memory of him.

I love how they did Zeus in this series. He is a problematic character as mythology describes, but he isn't an absolute villain. In the end, he loved Hera despite all the cheating and Hera seeking revenge. Good balance.
In all honesty, all the gods here are MUCH more sympathetic than they are in the myth.
In mythology, Zeus is defnitely the villain. And Hera is equally as bad.

I honestly didnt really think of Hera as a villain(or Herons half brother). Its not just Herons mother that Zeus cheated with. There are MANY women. Hince the quotes at the beginning during there argument. "Only because there were others". Also when Zeus brought Heron to Olymus among the chatter of the gods you could hear "This is the 7th one" or "He just cant keep it in his pants can he". Hes been un loyal multiple times, and that rage must have been boiling up overtime. Though I wish she didnt go as far as she did, I see why. Deep rooted anger from being lied to and cheated on built up for centuries can do that. But gotta applaud Zeus for still protecting her till the end. Shows even thoug she did all this he didnt hate her and still cares for her

She literally started a war in the heavens and lead to so many deaths. Zeus cheating multiple times doesn't excuse the thousands of deaths. She is a villain, and will probably be a villain in the likely season 2.

Paul Edward-Francis outdid himself with the score. This rendition of Zeus and Hera’s theme is beautifully orchestrated to convey so much in less than two minutes… you get profound love, redemption, pessimism, romance, heroism, liberation. The man is a genius.
(Compare the theme with the innocent romantic strings rendition in the first minutes of The Titans).

A beautiful, tragic, and inspiring scene. I'm really proud of Zeus when he took that step for Hera. A really powerful scene.

He'll be back, although maybe not in season 2. Gods can't die, only get displaced and their energy/essence can only be scattered. So he will be back, though it may take time for him to reform, so probably not in season 2, unless season 2 does a time skip.
I’d assume it’s gonna take some time for all his lightning particles to come back together but I’m fairly certain we’ll see him again.

When Blood of Zeus is better than most Disney superhero movies/tv series or Star Wars movies/tv series......we got a problem. In Blood of Zeus: the action was intense and had meaning, the villains were there to F people up..... true threats, the soundtrack/music was epic, the animation and voice acting was pretty much better than anything Disney and the story was solid and very well done. There is tons more this animation does better than anything Disney but that's it for now.

Finally a very accurate Zeus and Hera, normally both of them are portraied by being very good people, but in mithology both of them were trash, Zeus betraided Hera every 5 seconds, and Hera doenst even liked Hefestus her own son just because he was ugly.

Just read about the creators talking about the future of the series. Zeus isn't gone. Infact, the creators say the main characters of the second season would be the trio of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. Blood of Zeus, from a different perspective.

Through the centuries, Zeus always loved Hera. She was his Lady, his base, his anchor. All the others were intermissions. According to the Mythology he is our father. The "father" aka ancestor of mortal Greeks, and immortal gods. To do that he had to have many relationships but only the relationship with Hera is eternal.

I felt bad for Hera, but she misdirected her anger. Heron and his mother were not at fault. Hell, Heron's mother didn't know it was Zeus until after the fact. The show does a good job showing the flaws of the gods in parallel to mortals, because this does happen often. Focus on the cheater!
I thought Greek gods could not literally die. That’s why the gods themselves had to seal up the Titans in the first place. Cronos, just like the gods themselves could not be killed.
The way Rick Riordan explains it is the gods can lose their corporal, sentient form. The way Kronos chopped up his father into so many pieces made it near impossible for him to come back. Same for here. Maybe this form got incinerated as Zeus blew himself up and will now be unable to return, essentially dead.

This is best scene for me, I wasn't expecting this :( makes me sad, but the only thing I don't approved is the sacrifice explosion of Zeus. Damn! he is the strongest god and even sacrificing himself was not able to bring down one giant, what crap is that! The explosion should have killed at least 3 giants! Come on! he killed titans, where the giants came from! :(
The giant he was fighting might be Typhon. The giant who beated him in the original legends.
Zeus only beated him when he got a boost.
So it is a great feat of Zeus to bring the leader of the giants to the brink of death.

I just got done watching this show. The music was intense each scene, idk why I love mythology shows and movies but this tv show alone omg the animation, the story, and the way it grasp your attention so quickly. Idk why 8 fucking episodes, should of been more. Zeus the way he sacrificed his self for Hera was very intense I was not expecting that I thought he was going to redo what he done not to the extreme of giving his own life away. Man and the way heron used his power as Zeus epic.

In greek mythology God's can't die lol. Even if he somehow managed to die, he would just be in the underworld. Although Gods cannot die, they can be dismembered into a million pieces causing them to never be able to take physical form again. Zeus got BLOWN the fuck up so tbh, I don't really know if he'll ever be back.
