I always hated the "I like the Bad Brains, but I skip over or totally take out the reggae" Forget that! I dig those tunes especially off Rock For Light.
I don’t think they’ll ever get the recognition they deserve. They were even nominated for the RRHOF. Even if they won, their performance would be a disaster.

My Friend knows Bad Brains because of only punk but I only heard the Reggae part of it thanks to my Older Bros. I heard of their punk songs on the Skate Games and slowly listening to into the Punk portion still badass regardless and killed it on each Genre. Choas and Peace Bad Brains is the perfect mix 🤘🍃💨
The only band to combine speed metal and reggae with such expertise. I have been following BB since 1982, and their reggae tracks would make Lee Perry, Gladiators, Congos, Burning Spear, etc very proud.

18:20, this part of Long Time, reminds me of when I was working in the Caribbean, riding around the whole Island of New Providence on a motor scooter, headphones on, along the sea, overcast, intermittent sunshine, warm humid air, with breeze coming in from the sea, headphones on, I miss those days. Thank you God for giving me those days to experience, to remember for the rest of my time on this planet. Respectfully.

In 1983, I hired a new keyboard player from Paramus, NJ and she took me to see Bad Brains at a club there…was blown away.
