My Friend knows Bad Brains because of only punk but I only heard the Reggae part of it thanks to my Older Bros. I heard of their punk songs on the Skate Games and slowly listening to into the Punk portion still badass regardless and killed it on each Genre. Choas and Peace Bad Brains is the perfect mix 🤘🍃💨

Anyone who says that never saw them live. Nor do they understand that the best punk was Speed Jazz: FEAR, DK’s, Black Flag most punk musicians parents were musicians and schools taught music, art, choir! All City, All State I was classically trained in the Pasadena Boys Choir. Slam dancing was based on Ska moves speed up and their Reggae just slowed the pace down like Trinidad/Jamaican skins and two-tone. They were adored from day one by everyone in the scene and their Gold and Yellow tapes are cherished possessions. I was born in D.C. and grew up from 9 on in Los Angeles. Our scene was multicultural, gat and straight, liberal, radical and only became “conservative” thanks to Straight Edge and some later Orange County goons. The NEWS and White Identity militias turned the idea of Skins into racist tropes after BASH got chased out of SF and Screwdriver opened their crapholes! Just saying… cause I was there!

I remember back in the 80s when I first started listening to the Bad Brains reading a story that HR was visited by Jah who sent him word that he was to carry the message of love and peace to the skinheads and the way to do that was by learning hardcore music

Loved the reggae. Was drawn in to it instantly. Although hardcore punk was main interest….They are the main reason I began to explore other reggae such as BMW Steel pulse, Burning Spear etc

18:20, this part of Long Time, reminds me of when I was working in the Caribbean, riding around the whole Island of New Providence on a motor scooter, headphones on, along the sea, overcast, intermittent sunshine, warm humid air, with breeze coming in from the sea, headphones on, I miss those days. Thank you God for giving me those days to experience, to remember for the rest of my time on this planet. Respectfully.

They should have released all their reggae crap separately. There's nothing I like hearing more than reggae when I buy Punk/Hc record. This is, of course, sarcasm.

I’ve seen a lot of what would be considered the best reggae artists ever. I put Bad Brains at the very top of that list.

I’m a huge punk and because of Bad Brain’s raggae music, I’ve gotten so deep into this genre of music.

I loved swinsons! Lost alot of skin there. If the waves sucked at Atlantic beach, or emerald isle we were there. J.b burger afterwards, and if you had the money Els. Miss those days. Early to mid nineties was the shit. Don't know those guys names but recognize half of them.

I love Bad Brains' punk and rock songs, but they also legit make some phenominal and chill reggae songs. Great mix.

I spent so much time there. Got dropped of there by myself in 88. I was 11 years old. Loved that place. By the time I was 16 if the waves sucked we were there. A j.b. burger afterwards if I had the cash.
