Chris, should you read my comment, the light of the Lord shines through you. I know our Heavenly Father loves you immensely. I know He loves your prayers, and songs of worship. All glory to God and may He forever continue to bless you with wisdom, a glad heart and spirit, a phenomenal voice, and use you to draw others to the promises of Heaven through Salvation from our Messiah, Yeshua. I did not mention blessing you with wealth as something tells me you are perhaps one of the richest, fullest Spirits alive today. Bless You.
My dad was a member of Glad. Back in the mid 90's-early 2000's... this was always one of my favorites even as a kid. Always happy to see their music continue to have an impact. I remember Be Ye Glad being one of my favorites and In The First Light being the other... they also had an a cappella arrangement of And Can It Be that was incredible... lots of good memories. Thanks man!
Your Dad's group ministered to me in a BIG WAY back in the day. This song they wrote "Be Ye Glad" still rings in my mind and heart. I just shared their original version on my Facebook page. I was in Christian radio back when their music came out and they were top of our charts. I'd love to know if they are still around and/or still doing music ministry. God bless...
I'm a true lover of metal. That was my battle music against evil. Deliverance, sacred warrior, these kind of cats. This is a whole different kind of strength. My knees on the ground and my head bowed before my king lord Jesus. Love it!
You need to hear the original lyrics and see how Glad got them quite wrong in a couple of places. "Giving hope IN a storm sea of night" and "Be a refuge amidst the slaughter FOR these fugitives in their flight." Ask Michael Kelly Blanchard. He wrote it.
Oh bless you Chris. What a comfort to those of us who are shut in, within our homes, within bodies that don't work anymore. I do remember the gladness, it fills me like my younger days singing in church. Thank you so much.
Hey there, Susan, just a friend u havent met yet...how r you? Keeping hands washed n keeping that 6’ thing going on? Pray the Lord is super close ! Hugs from FL. 👋😊
Used to listen to this song in 90s when I was a new young believer. Now it even hits home more after 30 years. Be glad for the debt Jesus has paid on my behalf.
Even with the possibility of a third world war, even with drugs destroying a million a decade, even with dementia in my mom, aunt, and mother in law, I be glad that their souls and mine are saved. Salvation is not from Washington, D.C. or even Sacramento. It is not in the DNC, or the Republican party. Tonite, I am so blessed that my debt is paid up in full. And it is so much past due and overwhelming.
I heard Glad sing this as the closing song for their concert, 30 years ago in Lancaster, PA. There was not a dry eye in the spell-bound auditorium! You have done a worthy arrangement! May God bless you and your ministry!
Chris - I found this song by accident. I guess you tube had it in the line up & I didn't notice it. Have been listening a lot to your song Movin On with Home Free. I love the version where the group backs you up. I'll be Movin On in a year or so. Your song made me cry at first, but now I feel more comfort from it. And then I found Be Ye Glad. Talk about comfort!!! It is a wonderful song & your version gives me lots of comfort, along with some tears. Think I'll have it played at my memorial service and hope that my family gets comfort from it too. You did an absolutely fabulous job on this song!!! THANK YOU.
Sandra Woodson , Sandra, how r things with u now, pray He has shown u what wonderful things he has made just for your homecoming...praying it will be sweet...look for your angels that will be standing by to usher you into His presence. Look for me soon... Mary in Florida 🥰🙏🏼💥
Love the music. You're a force to be reckoned with a-Cappella wise, even without your masterpiece that is Home Free. Hymns are especially great when I see songs that maybe aren't sung as much in my church as they used to be. Very uplifting, and a great message for a song about God's grace. Keep it up!
You are a blessing in a time when we can't sing for ourselves - at least in groups. I miss singing with our symphony and our opera chorus but I miss my church choir the most. Thank you so much for these.
Your music videos from Rise comforted my mother and me and her family and caretakers in her final months this summer. Even after she could no longer talk, she connected with the sound and the sights in the videos.
I just finished listening to a sermon by Charles Spurgeon and Followed up with your video, you did an excellent job, the praise and thankfulness of my Lord is the joy of my heart, be blessed B
Chris - That once again is a job well and beautifully done! Thank, you so much for singing the hymns that are so important and treasured by myself and I know many others!!! You continue to make me smile with your amazing voice and talents. I can imagine that you, one day, will hear the words, "Good job my faithful servant!" Thank you again, and keep up the great work!!!
Chris, thank you for another lovely song and video....this one really got yo me. Thank the Lord for his love and grace...Amen. God's blessings to you, my friend.
At the time Glad had produced this song, my sister (a Christian) and best friend took her life. Listening to this song saved my broken soul. I played it again and again. I actually like your version slightly better because the lead vocal (are they all you?) stands out a little more and makes the lyrics a little more distinctive. This may be played at my mother-in-laws funeral, who died in ass'td living shortly after COVID closed the doors. If this doesn't give a picture of heaven, I don't know what would... well done good and faithful servant.
This has long been a favorite of mine, and it's the first time I've heard someone do a solo multitrack recording. It also seems to be based on the original harmonies, which is an extra bonus. Absolutely wonderful!
I knew there was some Bob Kauflin (Glad) influence to both your and Homefree's music! I could hear the musical twists. You've modernized and improved on what was the most influential style of my youth! Thank you for doing this!!
I loved listening to Glad -- got to see them in concert back in '99 or 2000. Just wonderful music, and such a great witness. Thank you for covering it and doing such a great job with it.
Wow!! I just heard the original version and thought how could anyone ever out do this? Question has been answered. Beautiful, beautiful. I've never heard of this artist but I will look for more. Wow.
Just came across this and Thank you so much for this! This has been one of my favorite songs since Glad first released it in 1988. I have always wanted to sing it because the harmonies are so melodic and so tight. Unfortunately, back in my day multiple tracks by one person was not something I could afford. Bless God for technology! Your rendition is second to Glads original and probably even better. The fact that you preformed all the parts, says a lot for the truly exceptional artist that you are. Keep exercising that talent and that faith! God Bless!
I remember Glad! We had one of their old records (before the days of cassette tapes and cd's LOL) - and this song was on it. Takes me back a lot of years and it was such a beautiful song then and once again you've managed to make it even better! Fantastic video, thank you!
You're quite welcome - it's hard not to sing along with you on these songs - brought back so many memories of that group called Glad - we saw them in concert at our church back in the day (I'm dating myself now LOL), but they were fantastic and my dad just had to buy one of their albums. I wish he still had it. I think it would be fun to go back and listen to that album again. Thanks for bringing back some fun memories :) Did you ever hear of a group called Bondservant? I believe they sang WITH Glad at that concert but I can't recall if they were a capella or not. Either way - they were also very good, had some really cool songs. I'll have to see if those albums still exist :)
A beautiful version of this song. Great arrangement! I loved GLAD, too. So happy to hear how they inspired you. It's part of your story I hadn't heard before.
Chris...you guys are very good and I hope your new adventure is fruitful indeed...I liked what Glad did with instruments much better...saw them in concert many times. I met Michael at a friends house in 1980.
Once again Chris...beautifully done! Amazing vocals and my heart is filled with gladness. You have been blessed by the Lord with an amazing talent! Thank you for sharing that talent with us.
This is the best version yet in my humble opinion. Would be perfect if Glad had gotten their antecedent correct. Be a refuge ...FOR these fugitives in their flight. Ask Michael Kelly Blanchard. He wrote it.
Love the hymns. Your amazing vocal range was great in this piece. This is soul warming. Thanks for creating such peaceful and beautiful music! Just love this!
I just stumbled across this song during quarantine. It’s helping me to remember to rejoice in all circumstances. I’ve listened to it on repeat for a while now. Thank you.
I first heard this from the group group GLAD. The first acapella I listened to when I first became a christian. God used them and the group acapella to get me through some tough emotional spots.
I´m a huge fan of these many Chrises-videos. Never can decide who´s the best, the cutest and...wait...why must I decide? They are all awesome! :) And although I´m not the biggest fan of hymns, I really adore what you doing.
And it makes a lot of fun to discover how you will bring your own style in it. Sometimes it needs a few listenings more to get me, but in the end I love it.
Great video of a favorite song from GLAD. Your voice and arrangement is super for listening to. I don't know how it all is put together but I'm thankful that you do! Thank you and God bless.
Yes, it is. Michael Kelly Blanchard (the song's writer) is a friend and amazing person. All would do well to visit his music. He is not only a consummate musician, he is one of the best word-smiths I've read.
Love your rendition of this song and your relationship with your dog buddy. A man's relationship with his dog often tells me much about the character of the man himself.
Chris, should you read my comment, the light of the Lord shines through you. I know our Heavenly Father loves you immensely. I know He loves your prayers, and songs of worship. Thats awesome to hear! Yeah, GLAD was super influential for me, I've covered a few of their songs now - check out my Christ the Lord Is Risen Today!

This was soooo beautiful. What a beautiful voice and lyrics. Thanks for sharing your gift with us.
You are so welcome!

There are many different paths along the same journey!
@@ChrisRuppOfficial what do you mean
Pretty ballads, or metal music, all can take one along a spiritual journey in different ways.
Classic GLAD song. Can't go wrong with them. They're still one of the best.
You need to hear the original lyrics and see how Glad got them quite wrong in a couple of places. "Giving hope IN a storm sea of night" and "Be a refuge amidst the slaughter FOR these fugitives in their flight." Ask Michael Kelly Blanchard. He wrote it.
I play this often! It encourages me every time and brings me to worship. Also, skillfully performed! Thank you Chris!
An old favorite when Glad sang it. Thanks for reviving it such a great performance! Still true after all these years!
Oh bless you Chris. What a comfort to those of us who are shut in, within our homes, within bodies that don't work anymore. I do remember the gladness, it fills me like my younger days singing in church. Thank you so much.

My only source of peace and joy is Jesus Christ!!!
Blessed be the name of the Lord 💕
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am crazy for hymns in a cappella harmony by the incredibly talented and soulful Chris Rupp!
Thank you for this wonderful cover. It was my favorite by Glad.
Calming, relaxing scenery. So glad there is a God in heaven.
even more beautiful with a happy dog.
:-)
Be glad!

For today, and every day. Love.
Happy Easter 2022! This song once again brought me much joy as we celebrate our risen Savior today.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I so love when you sing gospel, you did an outstanding job as always!
I agree. It's not always easy to make Gospel sound sincere - I genuinely love your Gospel, you make me FEEL it.
God bless you Chris. Thiis song may take of love to many people. Excellant song with your voice. Thank you!!!!
you're welcome!
Wow! I was just browsing your music and found this new video. Such a beautiful, inspiring rendition. Great job, all "five" of you! Blessings, Susan

My pleasure!
Thank you very much, Chris. It's another blessing to treasure.

Almost perfectly spot on! I didn't even know that was possible!
One of my favorites. Well done.

Chris, I’d love to hear more with Tim Faust and Austin.
Great job. This one of my favorite Glad songs and influenced the style of groups I was in.
Glad you enjoyed it!
A wonderful rendition!
Thanks!
Love your rendition of this song and your relationship with your dog buddy. A man's relationship with his dog often tells me much about the character of the man himself.
Great job! Love your song....AND your dog! I have 2 blue Heelers!
Another beautifully video/song done. Always love watching the cloning videos!
Awesome song and I am so glad to hear all your religious music. It reaches into my soul. God bless you all.
