Atta boy Sam, work smarter, not harder. Glad you're happy so far with the new mixer. Thanks for the step by step instructions on assembly. Take care and keep mixing.
Great video, this little friend will make you happy, or at least your back from not mixing in a wheel barrel ! I'm also enjoying the "Cleeman show"... Dude is SUCH a fun watch!
I've seen some people pour it dry & add the water on top. Can't imagine the concrete getting evenly saturated that way. Never tried it ! Have a great weekend.
What I mostly do is put the mixer in a fixed place (next to the palet with concretemix), dump the ready mix in a wheelbarrow and wheel it to the place you need it. It's also easier to dump the right amount of concrete. You can use the bucket of the front loader instead of a wheelbarrow.
This looks like something better rented. My concrete jobs are usually small - pads or steps destroyed by time or falling trees. I use a large mixing tub - easy to move around and mix the right amount. Plus, easy to move up and down the mountain.
@BlackMan614 If I didn't have so many jobs lined up, I would definitely agree about renting one. Moving it around is a bit cumbersome so if i put it on a pallet, the tractor can do that for me 🤠👍
@@BlackMan614 renting does have its benefits when it comes to houses and equipment and even cars. I’ve learned it saves Pennies in the short term and cost you dollars in the long run, but buying saves dollars in the long run but cost Pennies upfront.
Great idea on the kiddie slide. I’ll be on the look out. Also I like the pallet idea. My Kobalt mixer is a little awkward to move. Great thing about a brain, tools and a welder, you can always improve things.
I haven't used my own mixer for quite a few years, and it wasn't new when I bought it,, so it is OLD. But, as I remember, on mine it was possible to reverse the direction of rotation, and that was what one was to do when discharging (emptying) the mixer. The blades help to push the material out a little. Also, if you have a wheelbarrow that will fit under the tub wen emptying, you will find that a much easier way to get the concrete where you want it. I think you should reread the operating instructions as the ones I read on line said you were to add the water last, not first. Of course, it also said to add the dry stuff with the mixer turned on,, and that sounds like a disaster in the making (unless you plan to shovel it in). I know that you are willing to work hard, but I would sooner see you not hurt yourself. The wheelbarrow will help, especially when you use your mixer for mortar, or can't get next to the hole you want to fill. Watched a guy here on Utube used a mixer like yours to pour a slab for his garage,, one eight by ten section at a time. He just finished it a couple weeks ago. If you can find it you may get some ideas. Either way,, I'll be watching and cheering from the sidelines.
@@EdLeeper Thank you so much for the tips! The instructions definitely say add half of the water first. Seems to make sense to eliminate dust. Mine definitely does not have a reverse. If I mount it to a pallet, it will be high enough for a wheelbarrow. Lots of options. I'll check out that video you recommended 🤠👍
Take a Good Look at those Paddles are turned the right way I Bought a Mixer off a man down the street used it a few times kelp looking at it while it was mixing & came up with turning them Made it go to Mixing!
Harbor freight has concrete vibrators 45$. Another thing to keep in mind when doing locations vehicles drive on would be hardener. They also have fiberglass pieces you can add for strength
@ScrewdriverTUNING I saw the one at Harbor Freight. Good price for my needs. I will definitely add the hardener you mentioned when I do the barn floor. Thank you!
Concrete has actually come a long way. You can order steel grade concrete (with trucks delivered) we had trouble jackhammering threw it when I worked in waterproofing, the company had to switch from electric jackhammers to air hammers they spent about 200k in equipment when that concrete first came out. It is very expensive as you might guess.
Two observations, 1. That mix wasn’t too dry, more a bit on the wet side. 2. The mixer sounds rough, probably from badly meshing gears. It’ll be interesting to see how long it lasts. Good luck, can’t fault your optimism!
@Steve2024-y6h Thank you! Yes. It will be very interesting to see how it lasts. Thank you for your observation about my mix. I want to be consistent especially when I do bigger jobs 🤠👍
@gs19-53 Thank you very much for your input. I absolutely agree. Behind the scenes we've had a bit of bad luck with some nasty stomach viruses. I really wanted to get started on the block wall in the woodyard. That's why I bought the mixer. I have a HUGE winter project lined up. Hope you'll stick with me 🤠👍
Every piece of equipment that requires assembly should have a similar video! Well done, Sam!
@robertzapatka1082 Thank you so much! It was pretty straightforward. I really liked that the hardware was separated for each step 🤠👍

A good tool to add to the mix is a concrete vibrator. Help removing trapped air from the pour.
Thank you! I've seen some folks use a Sawzall without a blade, but a real concrete vibrator would be ideal 🤠👍

Great mixer did about 120 bags so far already paid for itself put up on 4x4 to dump to wheel barrel
@scottreynolds3148 Thanks! I figured it would have to be raised to dump into something. Way easier than moving it around when it's full 🤠👍
Good review. I have a few small projects where something like that would be handy.
Thank you! I wish I had one years ago! 🤠👍

Like the videos. I’ve had similar with yard max customer service. Any reason you went with yard max over a harbor freight mixer?
Thank you! It really just came down to customer reviews. Hard to say really. They're very similar. Hope I made a good choice 🤠👍
Just tip the concrete into a wheelbarrow it's far easier than dragging the entire mixer around the yard Sam

Question Sam, you indicated the electric motor casing was cracked and later said their was not damage, just missing parts. Could you please clarify?
