As a german watching I am realizing that we have impressive vegan menues. At burger king you can get every burger with a vegan patty and alsl vegan sauces. They also offer plant nuggets etc. There are also options at McDonalds and KFC😊
I'm from Poland and each time I visit friends in Germany I make a point to try all fast foods chains I can find, lol. I once planned weekend trip to Berlin just to try new vegan burger in Burger King :( I'm soooo jealous you have all these options, we have one vegan burger for each fast food chain and it's the same one for years (still better than US though).
See THAT is what we need. The option to switch the vegan patty/cheese/sauces to other burgers! Like it's that hard? You have to read the order slip anyway like omg just let us live 😂
The impossible whopper is THAT GIRL for me. I add extra veggies (all of them - lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles) and BBQ sauce. Always hits the spot on a road trip.
@@MerleONeal this has nothing to do with burgers Merle but yesterday I went to corelife eatery with my mom, and they had a dish with tofu, ginger tumeric Sriracha sauce it was called, (don’t quote me on that), I believe, and carrots and dried beets. I wish the specifically vegan fast food places would expand beyond places like LA to the east coast and not just big cities. I want to try all those burgers!
I feel like the problem with Carl's Jr was they call it "Beyond Burger with Cheese" as just the name of the burger - regardless of if it actually has cheese. So the AI was never going to not say "with cheese" because it's just the name of the burger. 😄
What suprises me the most is that the US has so much more fast food places/chains than we in Germany but still every single place over here (also normal Burger restaurants) has vegan options (cheese and sauce also vegan), and this was in L.A. which seems to be a good place for vegan food. So yeah i don't get you over there.
Same here in the UK. Every major chain has at least 1 or 2 options for vegans. Like even KFC has a vegan chicken burger despite their fries not being vegan, though they do have other vegan friendly side options like rice, corn on the cob etc...

a note on the prices at the bigger chains - they sell less of the vegan burgers than a restaurant that is dedicated to an all vegan menu. This likely means they buy in smaller amounts and won't have as much of a bulk discount and this is likely why they are slightly more expensive.
I always use the app to order my impossible whopper. Generally you can add a second patty for $1 and on Whopper Wednesdays its $3 for the burger instead of $9. The app has deals on fries too sometimes to make a low key meal. And it earns points and eventually i use them for a free impossible whopper.
Don't forget your survey on the back of your receipt (at least in Canada?) where you can get a free Whopper when you buy a small soda and fries. Technically it's only supposed to be a Whopper, or Whopper Junior or some chicken thing but the servers always let me have an Impossible.
Extra pickles for the win! I’m so impressed that you were able to get the Beyond and Impossible burgers at a place that serves real meat and not question if the gave you the right burger. I spend about 10 minutes questioning what I was given every time I get an Impossible Whopper 😂
Impossible Whopper is our go to! My sister and I are vegan but my Mom and brother aren't. We always take it to go and add vegan mayo at home. But the Beyond Burger is my favorite to make at home!!

Yeah, the McPlant was actually trialed in America and Australia (where I live) but they removed it from the menu pretty shortly after which was a sad day, by the sounds of it they had set their sales targets based around some of their meat eating customers opting to go the plant-based option instead which was a pretty silly outlook and so it was doomed to fail in those markets from the start.

I learned a few years ago that McDonald's french fries in the US are not vegan. Plant power is my favorite, the only two complaints I have are that a. Their newest beefy patty formulation is not great and b. I'm kicking myself SO HARD for not trying Mr. Charlie's when I was in L.A. last year. My friend and I literally walked right past it when we were on our way to dinner.
Wendy’s HAD a veggie burger, but that was in like 2018(?). It was only available in the Columbus, OH market, only available for a short time, and they haven’t brought it back since. It was a black bean patty. I tried it and really liked it, not sure why they gave up on it after such a short time and limited run. McDonald’s was in collaboration with Beyond meat to create the McPlant, but it never was rolled out. After years of R&D, they gave up on it. Not sure what happened there exactly, but they have since clarified that bringing a veggie burger to their stores is just not going to happen any time soon if ever.
I can’t believe you didn’t go to Monty’s or Doomies! Monty’s is my favorite fast food burger in LA, with Mr Charlie second. Doomies is like OG vegan fast food.
you probably had issues with the carl's jr AI because you said no cheese. their beyond burger doesn't come with cheese, so whenever it hears the word cheese it thinks you are asking for cheese. the burger king person did the same thing. love the video ❤
I love Mr. Charlie's (always get it while I'm in LA), you should come to NYC and try Neat, PLNT Burger, BETR Brgr, Superiority Burger, and a bunch of other great places.
Okay, it is wild to watch this and see that they have an AI at Carl's Jr. I don't love it lol. Plus with the distance between the car and the voicebox seems like it would be harder for a computer to understand!
Our Burger Kings in Germany serve only the vegan mayo. Maybe in LA too? Non vegans are not aware of it here. Btw they in Germany they grill them on the same grill the real meat patties are grilled on, that’s why I don’t choose to eat there. One time I did and I tasted like it for sure. Great video! 😊
The Carl’s Jr restaurants around me did the beyond burger sooo good and they stopped serving them in January! I live in NorCal and I feel like it was popular so idk why they discontinued it so early
I’m more of a flexitarian but I CRAVE the Carls Jr Beyond Famous Star. Like it’s all I want when I go there over the traditional famous star. If they really are discontinuing it I’m devastated 💔💔

I have grown to like impossible whoppers. Their morningstar burger is quite good too
Wendy’s HAD a veggie burger, but that was in like 2018(?).
Definitely a pt. 2 sounds needed! 👌
if you ever deicde to do a brrakfast sandwich version of this, you should really try the plant powered sandwich from philz coffee!
you probably had issues with the carl's jr AI because you said no cheese. their beyond burger doesn't come with cheese, so whenever it hears the word cheese it thinks you are asking for cheese. the burger king person did the same thing.
love the video ❤
I love impossible Berger!
You have to try plant power fast food!!! They have several locations in socal
✍
Carls J is my pick for my area. I love Beyond patties
Wish we had a hart house in NY, FL or GA 😂😂 so anywhere I am regularly
I really wish Hart House would open up more locations (east coast, pls)!
I'm really hopeful they will!!!
The Impossible Whopper here in Ohio is less than $6, and I always get extra pickles it is a must
It's $6 where i live, too!
The Carl’s Jr restaurants around me did the beyond burger sooo good and they stopped serving them in January! I live in NorCal and I feel like it was popular so idk why they discontinued it so early
I get the whopper and mustard to replace the mayo and it’s great
condiments were definitely what was missing
More Merle✨
Soon there will be more (gonna start posting twice a week semi-consistently hehee)
It’s so dumb because Hellman’s vegan mayo tastes exactly like nonvegan. They could just buy all vegan mayo and no one would know the difference.
THISSSS
I ALWAYS order the impossible whopper with extra pickles!! You get me
I’m more of a flexitarian but I CRAVE the Carls Jr Beyond Famous Star. Like it’s all I want when I go there over the traditional famous star. If they really are discontinuing it I’m devastated 💔💔
tried the Burger King Impossible burger about a month ago. Been wanting to try it since it came out. Sorry, but I was disappointed. wasn't sure if they put on same grill as the meat patties
Also domino’s has vegan pizza in Australia Ireland the uk etc
we have mcVegan and Vegan mctasty here in Sweden, theyre really good actually. not impossible or beyond, its apparently their own soy based thing I think.
Oh really? In Germany it‘s now Beyond, also nuggets.
@@Schneva89 yea I dont think beyond is particularly good, I enjoy the soy based patty at mcdonalds more. I dont think we have nugs..why is mcdonalds so different. its supposed to be identical everywhere
In-and-Out Burger had a veggie burger a long time ago, I remember when I was in college one of my co-workers got one. But I am old and apparently this is no longer the case.
We have a local spot here called Atomic Burger that does Beyond smash burgers and OMG its so good.
Impossible whopper doesnt even compare!!
Damn.... ahora solo tengo antojo de una hamburguesa vegana.... En México Carl's Jr tiene una llamada "Veggie Star" que es super llenadora! jejejeje
The Beyond burger at Carl’s Jr is the only plant based item I consistently get. And I’m a carnivore lol. Beyond is just so sooooo good 🤤
