Dude. You are underrated as hell. The dedication you put in your videos is absolutely insane. Regarding AOT vs One Piece, to be honest i was very biased to AOT before watching this video because of how it literally blew my expectations of anime to see how an story with such an amazing narrarative, animation, characters, and plot points could even exist. However, after stumbling upon this video, I gotta say that I am honestly now interested in One Piece and recognize how revolutionary both of these animes are.

Damn this was a great comparison video. One thing I agree with was how different villains were used. Aot villains are insane man, and who is the villain and who is the protag gets mad complicated. In one pice though u know luffy is the protag thats the hero of the story.

Attack on Titan was so good from s1-s3. There was mysteries to it. But s4 just was meh. They made it too much complex and just made things up just they went. Meanwhile One Piece kept peeking for 20 years. I just hope One Piece ending doesn't disappoint us.

Truely underrated, Story plot, Music ost, characters belong to AoT (no filler). i am fans of one piece but , i have to admit rather than be a kid mocking & jealousy this anime because it's have rapid growth rating and worldwide fans, that AoT have MATURE storyline , plot, that far better than one piece, for those don't like thinking ofcourse them don't like the story plot. even i am at first hate this anime, but after i watch it, overall AoT win this time . no debate.
I love both, but I have to say this is a (very) hot take. These two aren’t even in the same tier of storytelling as far as I’m concerned. I can think of 20+ side characters in one piece that are better developed than Eren, Mikasa, and Levi. Plus…story line being better in AOT? C’mon now

You should’ve prefaced your bold claims by saying that it’s your opinion since you’re not into Shonen anymore. OP doesn’t exactly fit the definition of a Shonen either. I love Shonen but most of the anime I watch isn’t that. Levi is one of the coolest characters out there, and yet a character like Kin’emon from One Piece is better built out. One piece looks at characters’ entire lives and struggles - how they became who they became, which makes their shifts in character a lot more meaningful. AOT doesn’t do that as much and doesn’t even have to ability to given how much shorter is it. At the end of AOT, I still felt like I didn’t understand some key characters like Ymir & Mikasa because we didn’t spend much time on them. Mikasa’s motivations and her struggle with balancing the Ackermann gene versus her own ideals is something that Oda would have explored a lot more, for example. As is, Mikasa was a disappointing character because we barely heard any of her internal monologue through the series. She was just a killing machine who loved Eren and that was her main plot device. Ymir just spend 2000 years as a slave with little to no explanation. Her backstory was brutal, sure, but that doesn’t make it excellent. And at the end of it all, Eren justifying genocide by saying that “he’s just an idiot who was given a lot of power” diminishes the entire thing for me. It’s an easy way to shove things under the rug because they weren’t explored enough or properly. The difference between good writing and great writing is how it all connects at the end of the story, and Oda is much more consistent and thorough with that in my opinion. With that being said, the parallels that AOT draws between our own history and culture and it’s storytelling is truly awesome to watch. I still think it will go down as one of the best anime of the millennia. One Piece will go down as the best ever, however. And the numbers are backing it up.
one thing that I (ME, PERSONALLY) dont like about aot is its hummor. There is a thing called comic relief. like bro i do not remember a single funny momnet in aot, and a story CANNOT be tense all the time like aot was, or i will just get bored for some of it
Funny how it's exactly the opposite for me, the cut throat tension and dread that I feel going into each episode is a highlight for me, especially season 4
(Thanks for saying "personally".) Nah, bro. AOT has just the perfect amount of humour it needs. It's supposed to be dark, serious, and very sad. Think about a war in real life. When soldiers are fighting to their deaths, with their comrades they grew up with getting obliterated left and right, are you going to crack a joke? Think about the wars in U and I/P that are (still) going on today. Can you make jokes about them? If you analyse the tone of the show, you'll realise that after the time skip, Hanji isn't a goof ball any more (too stressed from the burdens fallen upon her), and after Sasha dies, it all goes downhill from there. It's INTENTIONAL that there isn't much comic relief. Because you're supposed to take the story seriously. Look at Disney MCU. That's how you destoy a story's tone (and that is exactly why I personally think it's really really cringe). OP is okay to have humour everywhere because it has been that way since the very beginning of the show. Also, Isayama's gags are not your normal kind of humour. They're pretty subtle and dry. In fact, there IS humour sprinkled everywhere throughout S4. It's there, but it's drowned out by all the misery and carnage that you forget that there was comic relief. It doesn't make you laugh out loud like OP's gags. It's not supposed to. BTW if you think AOT has too little humour, then please do not watch House of the Dragon (Sorry that it's not anime). Right now, Season 2 is airing, and it is a SUFFOCATING and PAINFUL experience. THAT is a show where there is hardly ANY humour. (Sometimes I think that GoT and HotD are for masochists. LOL)

@@yeagerist_4life yeah aot is like the perfect series from first to last episode, literally everything is on top, one piece may have a few little problems but the bond peaks are just higher than any other anime’s and the incredibly long journey bonds you even more to everything. And literally the 2 best MCs of a series I have watched by a mile (especially if I don’t include Sinbad from magi because he isn’t really the mc) both of them striving for freedom while luffy is the idealistic version and Eren just shows the realistic version. Both changed my life, I’m grateful for all these experiences Oda and Isayama gave me, AoT is sadly over but at least One Piece is just in it‘s absolute prime, manga as well as anime. At least I can look forward to that, I don’t know what I will do if One Piece also finishes 😭

@@YorozuyaPrince idk man, I swear I can’t imagine putting an anime on the same spot or higher as aot other than one piece, I mean I thought the ending was going to be bad as everyone said, so that one piece is waaay ahead of aot and aot waaay waaaay ahead of number 3, but it turned out to be the most beautiful ending I’ve ever seen and thus concluding it as the most perfect and complete piece of media I have ever witnessed, thus putting it no lower than one piece tied at 1 but not by 1 mile, by a whole lightyear. I mean one piece isn’t as perfect as aot but it has other qualities that especially shine because of its length, you bond with the the characters so much (btw the same goes for my fav characters of all time, Eren and Luffy way ahead of nr3). But just like aot, one piece will probably get a huge boost once it’s all said and done.I’d be glad to experience something nearly as beautiful as these series, but I doubt it, but it could be maybe even top 5 I guess, but I can’t say anything really before I watched it, so let’s see
I'll be honest I personally didnt like AOT, it started off really good but I started hating Eren as a MC, I understand his motivate, but his personlity just annoyed me after the time skip. I get it. but those type of characters are just not for me.
All was good, but story to one piece in my opinion. You missed out a lot of arcs which dont liberate a country or which are not about saving countries and defeating final villains eg-Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, Drum Island(wapol was not that serious of a problem but drum island focuses more on the past of chopper and stuff), Jaya, Long Ring Long Land, Water 7, Enies Lobby, Sabaody, Amazon Lily, Impell Down, Marineford, Post war arc, Return to sabaody, Zou, Whole Cake Island, and currently egghead. Someone would be crazy to think that all arcs are luffy becoming stronger to defeat final villain and liberate countries. And what surpprises me is u took out that one point just because u said story is luffy defeating final boss and stuff.

Read both mangas, One piece story is unmatched- world-building, character developments and the level of detail and intention in the story is so sophisticated and so well written. It is able to interconnect subplots so well, the lore is otherworldly and themes that weave into each and flow into each character's storyline so perfectly. Its just next level. Also the dark themes in one piece are shown in such complex ways many do not realise how showing gore and killing of characters or showing them in psychologically devistating circumstances is not the difficult part of making a story "dark" whats actuallyt difficult is creating the world and bringing it to life through layers and systems and reasons that are not mediocre. And One piece excutes it to sucha. good extent. Throught the lighthearted innocent characters that are so real and the illumanit govt and shadow elders that run the Navy.
For me as an anime one piece is better but as a show aot is a cinematic masterpiece and no other show can surpass its greatness. I have watched both , one piece is more fun and entertaining to watch but aot is a whole another emotion and i haven't seen a story better than this anywhere. Overall i think more of kids and teenagers will like one piece more and the matured people or adults will like aot more . Both are good cant compare them because they have different ideologies and story line . It depends on the taste of the viewers. I would rate aot a 10 and one piece a 9 just because aot doesn't have downfalls or bad epsiodes. One piece is overall a goat anime but it needs 1000 + episodes to get there and some arcs are trash 🗑️ ngl but it has the one of the best arcs in anime too. Consistency and pacing goes for aot here . For me a better show is which we watch it with the same interest from beginning to end . In that case i have watched aot with interest and curiosity because its becomes more peak epsiodes after episodes .
Eren is easily a better written character than luffy, even with the ending. So before the ending its not even a competition, so it's funny when you say that it would be a draw.

Any "basic" character would just try to beat bellamy to a pulp for mocking their ideologies For bellamy, the sky is just childs fantasy and a delusion. He mocks luffy for it, but luffy doesnt beat bellamy to a pulp. Instead he proves himself by not only reaching the sky, he also rang the golden bell. Thats why in dressrosa bellamy says luffy is the only man hes ever respected Theres also the situation with nico robin, enies lobby as a whole, the situation with fishmen, the whole celestial dragon hurting hatchan situation and the list goes on Luffy has basic personality. Being an idiot that loves food. But that is not to be mistaken with character depth. Luffy has complex ideals. Complex ideals dont neccesarily have to be leaning towards evil lol. Luffys idea of freedom is a bit complex. Luffys philosophies are complex. His themes ARE the core themes of one piece I could go on yapping for eternity about luffy. He is in no way a basic character.

One piece has segments where moms were forced to kill their own children, genocide, sex trafficking , slavery, truth about the world gov, and more. one piece can be pretty dark as well. I LOVE Attack on Titan and One Piece very much, but just one opinion on this video: Giving AOT story has to be the most biased (which there wasn't much bias in this video) point you've made. You made one piece a formula by listing out all the similarities between arcs, but AOT does the same thing in the sense that it reveals something after the fact that connects to something you've seen before (which we call "plot twists"), which to me became apparent after the first 2-3 seasons. Plot twists are expected in AOT as much as the 'similar' storyline per arc is expected in one piece, but the duality of it can be complicated so I see why it went overlooked. I just wish that was considered instead of letting emotional value take initiative for the story category instead of the world building and colossal story structure that one piece has. Also I know this video was 2 months ago, but in recent one piece manga we are literally getting older characters tying together into the newer story, that's going to tie into future story with much more depth, spanning over 20 years of buildup!! If one piece doesn't get story I don't know what does. All that's to say, amazing video with all beautifully valid points and comparison. Im surprised you're such a small channel, because this is QUALITY content. You deserve all the success coming your way +1 subscriber!
Foreshadowing is not a plot twist lol . Plot twist is a completely new change made to the storyline while foreshadowing adds to that , showing hints of that earlier n we don't know the storyline so we don't get it

First 3 seasons we follow victims , in final season we get to know they are isolated n deemed as devil's by world themselves due to some historic act . Plot twists every now n then , minimum plot holes , and better blend of dark seinen n shonen genre . When a show goes dark and gritty and involves real geo political issues , its story goes far beyond any shonen story . Aot might come in shonen manga but it's pretty much up to mark with vinland saga , a "drama" . Remember there are negligible funny scenes in aot that's how serious story goes .

Funny thing , i love bothe ?! Both startet of very similar , with a huge mysterious world , a big secret like the basement and the one piece, and bothe developed in to a mostly political anime ! I hold tham bothe at the same place as my nr 2 anime of all time ( nr 2 shows as well ) . Both are some of the best written stories , but convey 2 different messages with each having theyr own approach . I honestly dont see why anyone would fight over these 2 anime . All i have to say is that if you like aot , you are ganna love one piece when you catch up , and dont use the excuse " this show is not serious " or " its just a boring shonen " ! Just try to enjoy the hell out of both the stories , thats why we watch anime !

No animation and badly drawn still frames after time skip) filler that blends in with main story: long ring long land has a lot of unessasary anime only stuff, which is probably why most people say its so bad. also dress rosa and louge town has both been tampered with by anime regular filler: not as much as naruto or bleach, but still really anoying. out dated sound effects: theyve been useing the same shi for 30 years now 500 different directors: the storys art style changes too much and is inconssistant. makes a lot of characters more anoying: sanji more pervy, usop more cowardy, etc meanwhilst op manga: great pacing great expressive art work no filler uses manga to its advantage with great paneling a consistant style that evolves over time to fit with the storys tone better longring longland, thriller bark ( the "bad" or more worse arcs are all far far better than the anime) no bad or anoying characters better humor

Aot story had lot of plot holes that is not explained. Taking your own example. How did Eren control Dina's Aberrant titan? If he can control any titan at any time, why didn't he stop anyone doing anything that lead to this eternal conflict. Also why did Eren stop Dina from eating bertholdt? Dina is from a noble blood, who is also in align with Eldian's freedom and loved Grisha. Paradis could have got the colossal titan and the Marleyans wouldn't have any chance of winning the battles at that point. Aot has a lot of flawed storyline.

AOT is just a modern rip-off of what many animes already have achieved in the past in regards to story (Code geass is a good example). Newer audiences gravitate towards it because it's the least anime-esque. One piece is leagues ahead of it and a comparison is embarrassing
It was inspired by many animes, not a rip-off. Saying it's a rip-off just because it draws inspiration from other pieces of media is in my opinion harsh and disrepectful to the writer and everyone who worked their asses off in the making of the anime. And if you think AOT is a Code Geass rip-off, then you must have watched the finale probably with your eyes closed. Eren did not pull a Lelouche and fail like some claim. First of all their motivations are way different, and secondly, the themes that each show tries to portray are way different also. CG is very naively idealistic, while AOT is tragically realistic. Both have good endings, but of course I like the Code Geass ending more. Also, I am 1000 episodes into OP and in no way is it leagues ahead of AOT, at least so far. It might change in the future, but so far it's still lacking in terms of most things that AOT offered to me. They are both amazing pieces of fiction that I think both deserve the respect they have earned. Newer audiences gravitate towards AOT because it has something unique to offer and the most unique premise...being the least anime-esque might be one of the reasons but is that a bad reason to gravitate towards it?No.

Attack on Titan was so good from s1-s3. There was mysteries to it. But s4 just was meh. They made it too much complex and just made things up just they went.
Meanwhile One Piece kept peeking for 20 years. I just hope One Piece ending doesn't disappoint us.

You should’ve prefaced your bold claims by saying that it’s your opinion since you’re not into Shonen anymore. OP doesn’t exactly fit the definition of a Shonen either. I love Shonen but most of the anime I watch isn’t that. Levi is one of the coolest characters out there, and yet a character like Kin’emon from One Piece is better built out. One piece looks at characters’ entire lives and struggles - how they became who they became, which makes their shifts in character a lot more meaningful. AOT doesn’t do that as much and doesn’t even have to ability to given how much shorter is it. At the end of AOT, I still felt like I didn’t understand some key characters like Ymir & Mikasa because we didn’t spend much time on them. Mikasa’s motivations and her struggle with balancing the Ackermann gene versus her own ideals is something that Oda would have explored a lot more, for example. As is, Mikasa was a disappointing character because we barely heard any of her internal monologue through the series. She was just a killing machine who loved Eren and that was her main plot device. Ymir just spend 2000 years as a slave with little to no explanation. Her backstory was brutal, sure, but that doesn’t make it excellent. And at the end of it all, Eren justifying genocide by saying that “he’s just an idiot who was given a lot of power” diminishes the entire thing for me. It’s an easy way to shove things under the rug because they weren’t explored enough or properly. The difference between good writing and great writing is how it all connects at the end of the story, and Oda is much more consistent and thorough with that in my opinion. With that being said, the parallels that AOT draws between our own history and culture and it’s storytelling is truly awesome to watch. I still think it will go down as one of the best anime of the millennia. One Piece will go down as the best ever, however. And the numbers are backing it up.

If you analyse the tone of the show, you'll realise that after the time skip, Hanji isn't a goof ball any more (too stressed from the burdens fallen upon her), and after Sasha dies, it all goes downhill from there. It's INTENTIONAL that there isn't much comic relief. Because you're supposed to take the story seriously. Look at Disney MCU. That's how you destoy a story's tone (and that is exactly why I personally think it's really really cringe). OP is okay to have humour everywhere because it has been that way since the very beginning of the show.
Also, Isayama's gags are not your normal kind of humour. They're pretty subtle and dry. In fact, there IS humour sprinkled everywhere throughout S4. It's there, but it's drowned out by all the misery and carnage that you forget that there was comic relief. It doesn't make you laugh out loud like OP's gags. It's not supposed to.
BTW if you think AOT has too little humour, then please do not watch House of the Dragon (Sorry that it's not anime). Right now, Season 2 is airing, and it is a SUFFOCATING and PAINFUL experience. THAT is a show where there is hardly ANY humour.

@@yeagerist_4life yeah aot is like the perfect series from first to last episode, literally everything is on top, one piece may have a few little problems but the bond peaks are just higher than any other anime’s and the incredibly long journey bonds you even more to everything. And literally the 2 best MCs of a series I have watched by a mile (especially if I don’t include Sinbad from magi because he isn’t really the mc) both of them striving for freedom while luffy is the idealistic version and Eren just shows the realistic version. Both changed my life, I’m grateful for all these experiences Oda and Isayama gave me, AoT is sadly over but at least One Piece is just in it‘s absolute prime, manga as well as anime. At least I can look forward to that, I don’t know what I will do if One Piece also finishes 😭

I'll be honest I personally didnt like AOT, it started off really good but I started hating Eren as a MC, I understand his motivate, but his personlity just annoyed me after the time skip. I get it. but those type of characters are just not for me.
All was good, but story to one piece in my opinion. You missed out a lot of arcs which dont liberate a country or which are not about saving countries and defeating final villains eg-Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, Drum Island(wapol was not that serious of a problem but drum island focuses more on the past of chopper and stuff), Jaya, Long Ring Long Land, Water 7, Enies Lobby, Sabaody, Amazon Lily, Impell Down, Marineford, Post war arc, Return to sabaody, Zou, Whole Cake Island, and currently egghead. Someone would be crazy to think that all arcs are luffy becoming stronger to defeat final villain and liberate countries. And what surpprises me is u took out that one point just because u said story is luffy defeating final boss and stuff.

Read both mangas, One piece story is unmatched- world-building, character developments and the level of detail and intention in the story is so sophisticated and so well written. It is able to interconnect subplots so well, the lore is otherworldly and themes that weave into each and flow into each character's storyline so perfectly. Its just next level. Also the dark themes in one piece are shown in such complex ways many do not realise how showing gore and killing of characters or showing them in psychologically devistating circumstances is not the difficult part of making a story "dark" whats actuallyt difficult is creating the world and bringing it to life through layers and systems and reasons that are not mediocre. And One piece excutes it to sucha. good extent. Throught the lighthearted innocent characters that are so real and the illumanit govt and shadow elders that run the Navy.
For me as an anime one piece is better but as a show aot is a cinematic masterpiece and no other show can surpass its greatness. I have watched both , one piece is more fun and entertaining to watch but aot is a whole another emotion and i haven't seen a story better than this anywhere. Overall i think more of kids and teenagers will like one piece more and the matured people or adults will like aot more . Both are good cant compare them because they have different ideologies and story line . It depends on the taste of the viewers. I would rate aot a 10 and one piece a 9 just because aot doesn't have downfalls or bad epsiodes. I LOVE Attack on Titan and One Piece very much, but just one opinion on this video: Giving AOT story has to be the most biased (which there wasn't much bias in this video) point you've made. You made one piece a formula by listing out all the similarities between arcs, but AOT does the same thing in the sense that it reveals something after the fact that connects to something you've seen before (which we call "plot twists"), which to me became apparent after the first 2-3 seasons. Plot twists are expected in AOT as much as the 'similar' storyline per arc is expected in one piece, but the duality of it can be complicated so I see why it went overlooked. I just wish that was considered instead of letting emotional value take initiative for the story category instead of the world building and colossal story structure that one piece has.
Also I know this video was 2 months ago, but in recent one piece manga we are literally getting older characters tying together into the newer story, that's going to tie into future story with much more depth, spanning over 20 years of buildup!! If one piece doesn't get story I don't know what does.

First 3 seasons we follow victims , in final season we get to know they are isolated n deemed as devil's by world themselves due to some historic act . Plot twists every now n then , minimum plot holes , and better blend of dark seinen n shonen genre . When a show goes dark and gritty and involves real geo political issues , its story goes far beyond any shonen story . Aot might come in shonen manga but it's pretty much up to mark with vinland saga , a "drama" . Remember there are negligible funny scenes in aot that's how serious story goes .

Aot story had lot of plot holes that is not explained. Taking your own example. How did Eren control Dina's Aberrant titan? If he can control any titan at any time, why didn't he stop anyone doing anything that lead to this eternal conflict. Also why did Eren stop Dina from eating bertholdt? Dina is from a noble blood, who is also in align with Eldian's freedom and loved Grisha. Paradis could have got the colossal titan and the Marleyans wouldn't have any chance of winning the battles at that point.

AOT is just a modern rip-off of what many animes already have achieved in the past in regards to story (Code geass is a good example). Newer audiences gravitate towards it because it's the least anime-esque. One piece is leagues ahead of it and a comparison is embarrassing

It was inspired by many animes, not a rip-off. Saying it's a rip-off just because it draws inspiration from other pieces of media is in my opinion harsh and disrepectful to the writer and everyone who worked their asses off in the making of the anime. And if you think AOT is a Code Geass rip-off, then you must have watched the finale probably with your eyes closed. Eren did not pull a Lelouche and fail like some claim. First of all their motivations are way different, and secondly, the themes that each show tries to portray are way different also. CG is very naively idealistic, while AOT is tragically realistic. Both have good endings, but of course I like the Code Geass ending more. Also, I am 1000 episodes into OP and in no way is it leagues ahead of AOT, at least so far. It might change in the future, but so far it's still lacking in terms of most things that AOT offered to me. They are both amazing pieces of fiction that I think both deserve the respect they have earned. Newer audiences gravitate towards AOT because it has something unique to offer and the most unique premise...being the least anime-esque might be one of the reasons but is that a bad reason to gravitate towards it?No.
