Man I was there last Saturday. Tide was in, high and slack for a long time. No movement in the water. No breeze either. Caught a rat, 1 keeper red, keeper flounder and broke off a big slot on my peddle drive. Back next weekend. Thanks for the great video Mark!!
I made another trip on top of the one in this video and didn’t catch but one small redfish … but did actually get about 6 trout on Topwater right in the middle of the main bayou at that first big curve just near the bridge on the East. Those trout will come out of that deep water and hit the Topwater some. Good luck next weekend!
Seems like I always find a flounder or two as well. Some days several. I don’t fish the west side as often, but do like some of the marsh on that side and a couple good dead ends. Good luck next time out!

Hello! I’m not too sure about Pensacola - haven’t fished there. If you’re looking to come down to South Louisiana, the best all-around spot is Grand Isle. Can stay on the island at many AirBnb’s or campgrounds. My 3 favorites are: BridgeSide Marina; Island House RV Resort; and Grand Isle State Park. You can even tent camp directly on the beach at the State Park and walk right out into the Gulf and wade fish the rocks. So easy and fun and productive for good trout. Also, there is a great kayak launch spot in the middle of the island next to the Wildlife and Fisheries offices. Can fish so many different ways and spots - Kayak, boat, Bay, Gulf, and even wade and pier fishing. Trout, redfish, flounder, etc. Beautiful place. If you’re fishing around Pensacola, I’ve always heard that Perdido Key is a great spot. Unfortunately I don’t know any kayak guides. That still seems to be an untapped market! Hope this helps.
@@justmyopinion6486 Choupique is off the side of Hwy. 27 heading south from I-10 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Exit 20. It heads down toward the Gulf through Sulphur and near Hackberry. This is still pretty far north in that fishery… lots of great spots as you continue south. All part of the west side of Calcasieu Lake. Recommend that entire area.
