    Give me the Hummers analog gauges all day long over the Bronco. Big HVAC controls also a win. Never though I'd say this...but overall... I'd take the Hummer.

    I just sold my 2006 Hummer H3 Ive owned for 8 years and drove my cousins new Bronco the Hummer is waaay better. Love the feel of how the Hummer drives, and it's such a unique 2000's vehicle. Also even the base H3 for it's time came with way more. Didn't have to pay extra for skid plates, a leather wrapped steering wheel ect.

    I wouldn't trade my H3 Alpha (V8) Offroad package for any Bronco ever. H3 is the true goat 16 years later and is unmatched to this day. Maximum value, comfort, practical luxury, max capability, and no bs tech features. Perfect off-road tech specs. The perfect package. Like Nothing Else.

    Cool video and I like to see all the Hummer fans pulling for the Hummer, that's cool too. As a Ford fan, I do like my Fords, and 8 months ago, I bought a 2 door Bronco Badlands with a manual and love it. Super fun vehicle, I haven't seen many Hummers on the trails yet, mostly it's a sea of Jeeps and some others, not surprising. What prompted me to this video is a saw a Hummer H3 with a 5 speed manual for sale today on Marketplace and it also came equipped with both lockers, some interesting undercarriage stuff and 4.56 gears and a 4:1 transfer case. I had no idea they came that well equipped for wheeling. While it seems many Wrangler and now Bronco fans seem to buy them for mall crawling, it seemed that was particularily true of Hummers, of all types. Whether it be rappers or ball players, etc. But cool to see some outfitted for real wheeling. But even as a Ford guy, I'm no homer, this video, while great and nicely done, does compare apples to oranges in a sense. I mean 2021/22 to 2008. I mean if the Hummer was made today, it could look very similar, but it'd have a 300hp motor, all the gimmicks, LED's, no 4 spd auto, but an 8 or 10 speed auto (one would hope still available with a manual) and probably a sway bar disconnect, among other features, now on the Bronco and Wrangler.

    Hummer looks more bad ass and is just as good as the Bronco

    One thing I never understood is why GM didn't go with the 4.2 I6 that they put in the trailblazer or envoy. I think they were rated at 275/275 while still getting 20mpg's. Plus, the I6 is bulletproof and runs so smoothly like you would want in a luxury type of vehicle that the H3 was advertised as.

      It’s because with the I5 they would be able to keep the nose short, in turn having a great approach angle

    I have an ‘09 H3 Adventure since ‘11: frt/rear lockers, 4:1 t-case, 4:56 gearing, still solid, no rattles at 187k miles, fits 35s no lift. Hate that it has no aftermarket, 3.7L is slow and burns gas as much as the optional V8, but no serious engine/driveline issues except a computer, couple of axle seals, frt wheel bearing, starter and a radiator twice. Running gear wise, I like that the Bronco has more power, a better crawl ratio and larger frt diff but otherwise it really is no vast improvement over my H3 and could care less about the silly GOAT tech, hence I’ll be shopping for a Wrangler to go along with my H3….they are distant cousins anyways plus I do like that solid axle strength.

      You can get the H3 Alpha Adventure in 08,09,10 with the LS 5.3 engine. I happen to have one. Its twice the vehicle as that new Bronco!

    Now compare their prices. You can get ten low mileage H3's for the price of one Bronco. And that's if the dealership hasn't tacked on a huge market adjustment.

    I just bought a 2009 Alpha Adventure which has front and rear lockers, 4:10 gears, 2 speed Borg Warner transfer case and the LS 5.3 v8 motor all factory. I think the new Bronco is about half the vehicle is that of the Hummer I mentioned and I have been in a new Bronco quit a bit. The LS motor that came factory in the 08, 09 and 10 Hummers is a killer motor much more good history on that LS engine than the just they put in that new Bronco. The IH9 LS motor they used for the Hummer those 3 years is one that the turbo guys like to use with the factory bottom end. The factory bottom end on the LS motor is good to about 1200 horse in other words its tough. Look up what some of the gear heads have done with a factory LS motor, they are damn near indestructible.

    You wouldn't miss the struts, you would spend the $50 to install them (like I did) on the Bronco.
    The "35" tires on the Bronco are really 34.5", they round up trying to squeeze an extra 1/2" on us. LOL.
    That 4 door Bronco weighs more than 4600#, my 2 door was 4416#, it's closer to 5000#. If you look at the door sticker, take the GVWR and subtract the payload from the GVWR (6080 is the GVWR of the WildTrak = 6080 - 1101 = 4979).
    I love my Bronco, but she's thicc.

    I just have to laugh when people say the I-5 is underpowered in the H3. I’ve driven an H3 for several years and never have encountered a problem merging onto highways or quickly passing someone. People who say they are underpowered simply don’t know the amount of wind resistance or drag the H3 really has.

    • @philipvandervossen4597
      @philipvandervossen4597 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You seem to be saying two different things here. I've owned the H3 since 2010, which is also the same year I began covering automotive online. In that 12-year span I've literally driven. over 300 new vehicles and I can definitively say that compared to the market, the I-5 H3 for its size, weight, and yes wind resistance is an underpowered SUV.

    • @dawsonhhr
      @dawsonhhr ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@philipvandervossen4597 I fully respect your opinion, but people who claim that they are “underpowered” also have 35 inch (oversized) tires on the H3, which the vehicle wasn’t designed for. Any vehicle in that matter is going to feel a little “underpowered” because of the heavier tire weight and increased rolling resistance. I’ve driven several vehicles also, the H3 didn’t feel any different from other vehicles. The H3’s wind resistance is so much more pronounced than other vehicles above 70 mph, even the Alpha (5.3L) would struggle with the increased wind drag. You just can’t expect to drive 85-90mph uphills in the H3, your literally driving a vehicle with one of the worse drag coefficients of any vehicle. *Urban myth: I5 H3s are underpowered.*

    • @garrett1398
      @garrett1398 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn’t say the engine itself if underpowered but It does feel like that due to the 4l60. Over 70mph is grabs 3rd and just doesn’t have the acceleration

    • @cflip7452
      @cflip7452 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t get people saying it’s underpowered! It wasn’t designed for speed and has zero problem doing what does. Like the 3.6L Jeep is some power house lol! People dog the Hummer because they don’t know anything about it

    • @dawsonhhr
      @dawsonhhr ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cflip7452 Exactly, the I-5 does well in the H3. I get 20MPG at every fill-up, so GM knew what they were doing. I don’t know why people expect a vehicle that weighs 5,000 to do 0-60 in 3 seconds. Crazy.

    2005 and 2006 had a smaller 3.5 inline 5 cylinder engine that produced less HP and Torque. I always heard those were underpowered. 2007 introduced the 3.7 which gave it a little more umph. I have 156k on my 07 and no issues other than replacing the radiator and upper A arms. I'm on the fence about keeping it or trading it in for a Tacoma. 😂

    Interesting thought that someone would replace a good H3 with a new Bronco. Of course, there may be people like that...
    As the value of H3:s is skyrocketing, even here in Finland, let alone in the States, the best bet is to keep the H3 and buy a daily driver to conserve the H3 for leisure use.
    I have several cars and trucks, but the ones I will never sell are -79 K5 and the H3. They do not make trucks like that any more, so there is no replacement. Bronco is defitinely not an option.

    Pretty sad that people still try to compare the new junk out there in a vehicle that the Hussein stopped production on 13 years ago. I have 4 hummers and by far the H3 adventure is the best vehicle I have ever owned and probably will ever own.
