I get out for a ride with my Portuguese cycling buddy David and he finally takes me to somewhere he has been wanting to take me for a while. I thought we was meant to go out on an enjoyable ride... but it seems he has other plans, taking me up the most steep and revered climb in the area. Its name is "Socorro" which directly translates to "help" and I really couldn't think of a more fitting name for this climb. It was brutal...

@@TheCyclingTattooist Some things link to English through latin, so socorro = succour = help and you can make that connection in your head.
Avozinha, has the (z)inho/a ending that adds a kind of "small" or "gentle" bit of meaning to the word it joins onto. Like sweet/sweetie kind of. That's used a lot.
There's a fair lot of little bits and pieces like that you can add to the "toolkit" and things will soon build up. David will enjoy keeping you right on the subtleties ;-)

It was a great opportunity for you to set a good example of a BMX rider using the skate park assuming that it was envisioned to be for skate boarders primarily.
I’d actually say that the skatepark was designed to suit all types… that’s what’s so great about that park 😁🙌

What size is your hi-mod? I remember you saying you went down to a size 50 on the Trek.
Did your Supersix come with the Knot/Save stem combo originally? If yes how have you managed to find a stem that doesn’t look hideous on it and actually fits well 😂

HAAAHAHAHA, local legend on that segment has 25 efforts in the last 90 days. These super steep short climbs are all I've got around me. Doesn't matter how fit I get, greater than 15% just sucks.
So you guys know, many cyclists, like me, changed their subscription to the grandfondo in Torres Vedras last month because of this climb. If you wanted to avoid it at the end of your race, you had to choose the Minifondo because the Mediofondo and the Granfondo had at least 8 climbs and 80+ kms before that. You should try one of these Granfondos, Tom! "It's fun!" 😂😂😂

Because that’s how I like it… I only wrap from the hoods down, and then no need for tape. Purely an aesthetic thing for me.

it's a personal preference kinda thing... no real right or wrong way. Just in my opinion I don't like the look of when aero bars are wrapped past the hoods. Some people disagree and hate it the way I do it, but each to their own... 🤪👍
