    Jordan, excellent three tips on improving one's serve. Perhaps in a future video you could provide some tips or drills on how to put the serve into various areas of the court and use different serves -- all intended to be unpredictable to one's opponents. Thank you. Love your videos!

    Great vid as always. One thing I have noticed whenever I watch you in slow motion is that you have a well developed "whip" of the wrist which really quickens the speed of your paddle coming through the ball. I think you need the looser grip to do this. It seems like this whip action should have a separate video and be included in long shot videos like serves and groundstrokes.

    • @primetimepickleball

      You definitely need a looser grip. We hope to do a video on this soon!

    Hi Jordan , I notice your paddle is perpendicular to the ground when the ball contacts the paddle . As oppose to top of the paddle low for a low to high brush stroke. What is your input for the paddle position when ball connects with the paddle???? Thank you for sharing your knowledge .

    • @primetimepickleball
      @primetimepickleball  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not totally sure I understand the question but essentially, the bottom edge of your paddle will be pointed towards the ground and your paddle face will be slightly open (to the sky) as you swing low to high so that you can clear the net.

    What are the advantages of studying how pros play pickleball on TH-cam, and are there any disadvantages? Thank you very much!

    • @primetimepickleball
      @primetimepickleball  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Studying pros can benefit you greatly. I do it all the time. It will help you see how the pros hit and more importantly, it will show you the decisions that they make. A disadvantage could be you trying to replicate them, and your skills may not be anywhere near the pros. A lot of the decisions they make and their skill is worlds away from the average player. So even sometimes some of their shot selections aren’t exactly what the average player should do. You should always push yourself to get better, but you should also know your skillset and your limits as well.

      The one disadvantage is that sometimes pros use shots that are extremely athletic. If you do not have the athleticism to make such a shot; you may need to do something else to accomplish a similar outcome.

    Great video! Side note: someone was “sharing” their music during your recording session(2:20 or so, and on). Specifically their loud, bass heavy music. If you’re experiencing trouble with your audio compression, definitely check for low frequency content in the audio, it will make your audio compressor go a lil crazy 😜

    Thanks for your time, have you tried dropping the ball first to see if you can produce more speed and power? Curious to know the difference on power.

    • @primetimepickleball
      @primetimepickleball  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most advanced players choose not to drop the ball because they prefer to get as high a contact as legally possible and the drop serve doesn’t come as high as they’d like to make the highest legal contact possible. You can get a more aggressive trajectory going with the higher contact.

    Nice job Jordan. Don't forget to FOCUS on the ball as it drops from your hands. Also you really don't need a "hard" serve, you need a "consistent" serve. If you work on anything after that, it should be hitting a "deep" serve.
    Once you're at the "consistent and deep" level you're going to see a significant difference in your game and winning points..
    A "POWER" Serve in Pickleball is akin to the guy's who try to SMASH drives in golf. You'll get some in but you're going to miss a bunch as well...
    Ciao-

    • @dalevoigt8612

      Why are the pros doing power serves? Tyson started power serving because Morgen's power serve was effective against him. You may also want to ask yourself why is the best player in pickleball copying Zane's serve? At higher levels serving matters. Given whatever serve you use it needs to be consistent.

      5.0+ can do what they want. So, can you but it's not the best course of action. If I was in my 20's - 30's I'd probably do it as well.
      It's just not necessary for 95% of players..

    • @dalevoigt8612
      @dalevoigt8612 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SDPBALLCOACH The best players in the game keep trying to improve their games. When they copy what another player does and incorporate it into their game it becomes a new trend. While just get your serve in was common practice among pro players, more and more pros are serving aggressively. The pay back is weaker attackable returns of serve. This sets up strategies like the shake and bake.

      Pro golfers hit 300yds plus

    When serving, can you take *multiple steps* (running start) into your serve while falling all the other serving rules: Footing behind the service line; hitting below waist with an upward motions; etc.? Or must your footing be *stationary* when serving?

    • @primetimepickleball

      Yes you can as long as your feet are on the ground when you make contact.

Having said that, This is my first complaint about any of your videos. I actually hit a thumbs up and my first thumbs down ever. Here's my beef, for what it's worth. Your camera showed you, but didn't actually show what your serve looked like from the broader view. Would have been much better to have some of the angles showing the entire serve, including where it landed. Maybe having Danny or your wife on the receiving side, just to give us added feel of how this serve affects the guy (girl) on the other side. This would have given a better perspective to let us feel how powerful your serve is. Just sorta left me hangin'
