I can vouch for this book! If you're looking for a good book, especially if you haven't read often lately, but would like to ( like me), this book is perfect. It's a very easy read and I was inspired by it. Very similar to reading any of the good books on the lives of the Saints. Truly Fr. Kathrein was the 'Archbishop Lefebvre of the Redemptoris order'. It was so interesting to read about time and places known for True Catholicism in America ( SSPX) and how he helped preserve them for us... I was just a little girl when all this was happening and I hadn't even heard of the Latin Mass before.
Great interview! I can’t wait to read the book! Father Trummer told me the same thing when I first found the SSPX. He said the SSPX is only carrying out what the Catholic Church has always believed and taught, nothing more, nothing less. Thank God for holy priests like this one and Archbishop Lefebvre!!
I'm inspired to do my mother's bio... she went to a girl's school in San Diego taught by nuns...but she is the only one in San Diego of her time, who rejected Novus Ordo and worked for decades to help preserve true Catholicism here.
I very much agree. He led our recent church retreat. If the Novus Ordo had even half of the spiritual nourishment available through the SSPX, it wouldn’t be dying today, nor would they have to try to force people to attend it.
Mom here. I will purchase this book through Angelus Press. One comment. Catholics should read the Bible and can refute Protestants easily by reading the Bible passages they extract in context! Protestants lift Bible passages out of context and twist the meaning. The Bible is not hard to understand. Read the entire chapter, not just the Bible verse. I have gone on-line many times and refuted Protestant errors in this way. They cannot come back with any Bible passage to refute what I counter with. All they can do is repeat over and over. Then I give a definition for brainwashing & that they are holding their 'tradition' above the Bible! Some actually do listen. Tradition backs up the Bible, it does not contradict it. Women especially should read the Bible and think and not be immersed entirely in devotions! The Douay Rheims is excellent yet in the language of the 1800's. The Peshitta is the Eastern Catholic Bible and the translation by George Lamsa is very clear. It is always good to double check any questions with the Douay Rheims, however.

Thank you so much Father Alphonsus!!

Thank you, Andrew for featuring Fr. Alphonsus on the podcast regularly.
Our Video Director, Joe, has been interviewing Fr. Alphonsus and producing these videos - the thanks go to him! -A

BEAUTIFUL, thank you Fr.
What a treasure that is happening! Thank you!
Got to love Father AlphOnsus! One of the best retreat masters ever.

Thank you from one of the old Traditionalists.
It's so interesting that both he and Archbishop Lefebvre died on the feast of the Annunciation.
Wow...

Deo gratias
I really wanted to meet Fr. Alphonsus at his conference. Oh well. Will he be coming back?
Excellent interview 👍🏽🙏🏽 The book still shows as out of stock on the website. When will it be available for purchase? I've been waiting for a while!
Maybe your parish can have a Mission like our parish in Houston TX. Father Alphonsus was here and he had some books with him. I’m reading mine.
Fine, that the Novus Ordo Redemptorists were helpful for the research for the biography.
