Peach with an almond cookie crust instead of the pretzels.
My cousin has Celiac, so I made my crust with 2 cups of ground pecans and a 1/2 teaspoon of salt, instead of the pretzels and followed the instructions. Everyone loved it and I am making it again for our family 4th of July get together.
I’m celiac too. There are Schneider’s gluten free pretzels. Yummy they are.

Brilliant! We are keto so I will make a pecan crust and use another subscriber’s idea of using sugar free Jello and replace the regular sugar with Swerve. 🌹
Did this with blueberries/blueberry jello...it was even more amazing because the berries pop in your mouth!
Haven't looked at the Jello shelf in the grocery store lately..... didn't know they made blueberry jello! I'll bet it is pretty!

There is a dessert called banana split,using banana crushed vanilla wafers,cream cheese blue berries strawberries crushed pineapple topped with whipped cream and the top sprinkle with nuts and a drizzle of chocolate. Great for Fourth of July..Red white and blue. Absolutely delicious. Also love strawberry pretzel 🥨 salad.

totally id use sugar free jello the regular has so much sugar in it... then id substitute the sugar with sweetener!!

Yes, good tip! Personally, I think you can altogether cut the added sugar from the pretzel crust, which is supposed to be salty by design. The next two layers are already sweetened.

This is an absolutely delicious dessert! Refreshing sweet and salty, but not overly sugary.

Try this with orange jello
2 cans of mandarin oranges
1 can of pineapple
This version is also delicious.

I am making this for 4th of July. I also have a easy excersize for strengthening your fingers. Take a wet dish towel or cloth holding each end and twist until you cannot wring out anymore water. Love you and hope all have a wonderful 4th of July.🎉
This looks delicious. I love jello and desserts that are cold and not real sweet. I love that old recipe with lemon lime jello, pineapple, cottage cheese, cream cheese
and nuts. I haven't had it years but you made me think of it.
My aunt makes something similar with lime jello, pineapple, cottage cheese, pecans, mini marshmallows, and cool whip. She calls is seafoam salad.

The green spinach at the bottom is the perfect "garnish" to this strawberry salad!!

My mother has been making this for years. Always at Christmas time. She has also made its with raspberry. It can also be a dessert.

So good...I’ve used raspberries and raspberry jello or mandarin oranges and orange jello. I always pop a bit of cinnamon in the crust too! A MI favorite ❤️
I remember this being a big hit in the 70's at Christmas gatherings. It was so yummy. I am going to have to make it to bring the memories back. Thanks Paula. Your the best!

This looks absolutely delicious and like you said your mother made A jello strawberry dish with a banana salad my mother did too she would put bananas and pineapple and she poured half of it down and put the refrigerator to set and then she put some sour cream on it and then poured the other half in it was absolutely delicious and it went over real big with our family gatherings. So this I will have to try to see if I can add something else to our little jello salad row

My kids love jello. They’re all in their 30s but they love it any way or how. I make a rainbow 🌈 layered salad for the holidays and I usually double it cuz they love it so much. My moms aunt made the strawberry pretzel salad a lot. Love 💕 it
This looks really good but I'd strongly advise y'all to NOT ever put anything steaming hot in your fridge (or freezer) to cool it off - you'll steam up the inside of your fridge and warm up the rest of your food in there, potentially even to unsafe temperatures. Just be patient and let it come to room temp first, THEN put it in the fridge or freezer to cool further. In the case with the hot liquid here, the first best option is to pour it in a new bowl and remove it from the hot pan. You can even set a fan on it.
My family really likes this with orange jello and mandarin oranges.

Have been making this since the 80's. I semi-firm the jello in fridge with the pineapple and strawberries in it, then put it on the cream layer. I use a 10 oz container of frozen sliced (yes, it has sugar) and some fresh. May be geriatric to some, but I still get requests from the young ones.

I've got a "good"supply of sugarfree jello in my cupboard. My son opened thr door and was shocked! "Mom! You think you need some more jello?" LOL. But it makes wonderful snacks and desserts for my diabetic husband. By the way, I make pretzel jello salad with sugarfree jello. Even though the rest isn't low carb, the jello at least can be less calorie-laden.
I think I could use my monk fruit for the sweetener in the crust.

Paula, I have a special gizmo that opens soda bottles on one end has a little hook thingy on the other end that will open tab top cans like a dream! It's the bomb! I have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis both in my hands and I couldn't live without it!
Actually, it just occurred to me that for Christmas, you could layer red (strawberry or black cherry) and green (lime) jello. And, for the 4th, layer blueberry and strawberry! 🤩 Thanks for the inspiration!

My Mom loved to put fruit in jello. We were crazy for fresh apples, bananas and chopped walnuts in ours!
We have made a similar recipe using raspberries ( frozen ), and did not use any pineapple. Always use 'real' whipping cream. Delish !

We make this every year for Thanksgiving. We make it with raspberries and raspberry Jell-O. It's delicious! I would like to try it with real cream like Paula does. 😋

im sure they do: but Paula lives in the south so this time of year it could easily reach 100 degrees or more and most of the time very high humidity... thats brutal even with ac sometimes

You can also sprinkle walnuts on top and more fresh whipped cream when it cools and is ready to serve.
Jello was a staple at my grandma's house with cocktail fruits in it. That was our dessert.

I make something with peaches like this and it’s gone in 3 minutes I don’t get any because my family is like vultures LoL! It’s fresh and salty and it’s the best of both worlds I am the cook of the family Thanksgiving and Christmas it’s all me I cooked my first Ham and Turkey at 10! I had a slight variation on this one. The jello/fruit was the first layer, then the cream cheese/whip cream layer , then a light sprinkling of crushed pretzels on top. It looked easier to make.
Yes, that's what I was thinking that I remembered. I think if her layers were reversed, it would give a nice clean cut. She was saying that it needed to set longer, but I think it was the way that it was assembled. 🤔
