The guitar or bass tone on that song is so dirty and groovy
You definitely need to hear the full album to fully understand this band. The vocalist (who calls himself Vessel, that speaks for some kind of deity called Sleep) said once in an interview: "“Life is dark. Life is bright. Life is ugly. Life is beautiful. Don’t get lost in genres, they’ll only disorientate you. Music is for everyone.” So you'll be in for something pretty unique ;)

Literally their entire discography is incredible. The Offering, Say That You Will, Calcutta, and Jaws are all incredible songs
The drummer of this band is such a beast

It is technically worship music. Jaws is one of their best songs, drummer goes hard on that one. They have a ton of variety in sounds but they are usually kind of slow and proggy.

All of their songs are pretty different from one another. The only real way to understand their music and style is to listen to the whole album

I’ve been binging everything from them more and more in my car. I think those that like long build ups like tool can enjoy the mood they set. I also think ppl immediately think more metal bc their logo & song logos + the getup. I initially felt the same but realized I just made that up in my mind that they were full death metal.
Absolutely love these guys, but I agree, I definitely have to be in a certain mood to listen to.

Dude 1st time listening to sleep token on here and now I can’t stop looking them up. Yeah their music can get dark. But “HIGHER” to me, seems more up lifting. Beautiful music. I love the dreamy sway groove that modern metal does now days
Thanks for the content guys well done! Sleep Token is something very different, and a very emotive band. I get having to be in a mood for it haha. Personally I love it, it’s something new and fresh and I feel like it’s extremely well thought out and put together. Excited to see where they go ! I don't know what Worship music is, but I think of stuff like this as 'headphone music' where I like to just sit in a dark room with headphones to experience all the texture and nuance of the song.

This song started great, nice melodic vibe. To be honest i would have preferd it to get a little heavier but in the spirit of the song, instead it got maybe a little too heavy and the overall tone of the song changed too much. It kinda break it a bit for me.
