Congratulations on your new TH-cam Channel! As a long time subscriber to Agenda, I am so glad to see this development, and excited to see all the new features offered in Version 13!
Hey Alex! I just got to know the new channel of yours and I loved it! Finally a dev understands the need of users to learn more about their apps directly from the source 😁. Good job!
It would be interesting to have a video on the difference between say, Apple's Notes and the free version of Agenda. Also the same, comparing Apple's Notes and the Premium version of Agenda.
Great start! You did a marvelous ob with Agenda - as a long time user of the app (desktop and mobiles) I don't want to miss it a single day. I'm looking forward to the other videos - I'm sure I'll learn one or two new things - even after all this time of use.
We are not ruling out doing an Android app in the future, but for now the focus is on iOS and macOS. See also agenda.community/t/the-features-we-are-working-on-right-now/679
need handwriting option and an android app too. first day trying this app but doesn’t evernote have calendar/reminder features already? how much more organization features does this app have than evernote? and can you attach videos? sidenote: every app should use the same concept as this app in how premium features are sold. brilliant and fair.
Love the Agenda. A ++ would be something like Evernote has with its Penultimate integration - handwritten notes on the iPad as part of the total package. But love it as it is already.
Glad you like it so much! For handwriting we depend on what Apple delivers in this area but I think there's good hopes they'll push this area forward in coming OS updates, which Agenda can then lift along with. 🤞
Can you describe how to create a recurring calendar event and a recurring tasklist item? I can’t find a straight information anywhere on whether this is possible, and how exactly it’s done. An example of the recurring calendar event would be a daily meeting on weekdays. An example of the recurring tasklist item would be “I finished my workout” on selected week days, e.g. Mon, Wed, Fri. Thanks.
At the moment you can't create recurring calendar events and reminders directly from Agenda (as opposed to single events and reminders which you can create from within Agenda. However, you can just set these up in the Calendar and Reminders app, respectively, and they should then show up in Agenda for you to link your notes to. See agenda.community/t/dates-events-and-reminders/53
I use Apple's Notes a lot but I'm always looking for something better. There is one very basic feature that is NOT in Apple's Notes and it goes like this: Let's say I'm looking for a specific *folder* that holds one of my 8,000 notes. Yes I have that many;-). I use three languages every day for my work/life so things can be rich but confusing to say the least. So I use the Search feature and find a note that is in the folder I am looking for BUT it does not provide me with a way to climb up the hierarchy and hunt down the folder I am looking for! Like Finder on a Mac. Can your app do this?
Agenda's search abilities are still relatively limited, something we plan to address in the coming major updates. Having said that, it all depends on how you organise your projects and categories in Agenda I'd say. It's set up is slightly different from Apple Notes in this respect. Perhaps worth giving it a try. In that case I'd also start by setting up a new structure in a small way without trying to immediately import all your existing notes as that's better done once you have a good functioning system to move to.
Hi, I have a question about tasks. When I make a note with many tasks ( e.g. steps of a project that do not need separate notes), can I give them separate dates that will show on "Today"? I prefer to see just this one task I have to do on this day and not a whole note with all the steps/tasks.
Not at the moment, the way to think about it in Agenda is that events and assigned dates apply to the whole note (and as such you can only have one per note), while reminders apply to the text inside the note (i.e. you can have multiple per note). So in this case, you are probably better off assigning reminders to those tasks, and use the Reminders app (and the calendar in the related panel inside Agenda on the right) to monitor them. See agenda.community/t/dates-events-and-reminders/53#heading--reminders
Wow, well spotted, that's actually a "bug" in the video, the circle pops indeed at the mountain, but the settings/preferences trigger is actually the button on the left bottom side of the inspector, the one with the three sliders. I clearly had missed that, very sharp. Now regarding the keeping the videos up to date, this aspect has never changed (the bug in the video has been there from day 1) and yes, some things changed slightly (like Preferences changing to Settings), but in our opinion this doesn't warrant a complete remake or editing of the video because this has a number of big downsides as TH-cam doesn't allow you to change a video, you can only upload a completely new video. Which means you'd loose useful comments from other users, get broken links or worse, multiple versions of the video etc etc. Of course if anything major changes we'd redo the video, but these changes are too small to warrant the time and effort it takes, especially as with a two-man team it always comes at the cost of further improving Agenda...
You mean the step here right: th-cam.com/video/r-lSk1fU0Og/w-d-xo.html First, why you might want to do this is because a number of people decide to not keep the samples when they go through onboarding, so if you skipped them and want to install them after the fact, this is how to do it: you simply go through the onboarding video again and now choose to keep the samples at the end. The video does show how to trigger the welcome tour again once you are at the settings screen on iOS.
It's currently only available for macOS, iOS and iPadOS indeed. We are not ruling out doing an Android, Windows or Web app in the future, but for now the focus is on the Apple platform. We've written more about it here: agenda.community/t/the-features-we-are-working-on-right-now/679
I use Agenda every single day and love it. Thanks for your hard work

Your best bet is to check out the agenda.community where you can find our roadmap etc. Glad to hear you like the premium features model too!

@@AgendaApp Thank you. That might be just the thing.
Please keep the videos up-to-date; clicking on the mountain does NOT bring up the Preferences, and they are now called Settings.

Also, step one does not show how to reload the Sample Project, and it doesn't tell you why you would want to.
