With tears, I am so grateful to have watched this. I desire and play with all of my heart for basketball, and this man has been Legendary in my household. My Dad has been a San Antonio Fan forever, and the Iceman is his favorite player. I truly believe that D and Q do things as such to embrace the youth and teach them that it is way better to work hard and push forward rather than turn to the streets and do dumb things and ruin your life.
I’m a 90s baby but I always did my history on the greats before my physical time. The Ice man has always been one of my favorite players . That boy was so smooth 🏀 a LEGEND
he looks like that uncle or close friend of your parents who's a retired doctor and is cool but still gives health advice every now and then at the dinner table.
This is classic "The Ice man" represented The D all day everyday. Q and D Miles hands down have the best platform and their chemistry and interview skills are second to none.
It’s something so cool about watching our heroes (figuratively speaking, I love Q and DMiles but I mean people you like in general) talk to their heroes. The look on their face every time they get wisdom from the OG’s is priceless.
I'm so proud to have watched Ice play here in San Antonio, and to still see him around town always puts a smile on my face. Ice, you can proudly wear those championship rings, because none of them were not even possible if you weren't around to put the Spurs on the map and to keep us thriving in the league in such a small market all those years.
I remember as a kid the ABA had stars like David Thompson Dan Issel James Silas Larry Kenon Dr J Ice Man Artis Gilmore George McGinnis John Williamson Mel Daniel's Roger Brown the league was good.
Knuckleheads great interview with the "Iceman." Grew in Michigan in the 60s,70s so I knew a lot about his feats but your interview enlightening me on "Iceman" the man. Keep it up!
I'm in my mid 60's and have been a basketball fan for as long as I can remember. There are 2 iconic shots that I can remember. The Sky Hook and the Finger Roll. Both poetry in motion but Ice was the coldest. Thank you young fellas for letting people in my age range stay young watching our idols. Flowers!
I'm 49 yrs young. Michael is the GOAT to me. As a little kid, all my friends were stuck on Dr. J, Ice Man was my dude, tho! Great interview & funny!💯😄💪
I Love what you Brothers are doing and I haven’t missed a interview. But George The ICE MAN GERVIN WAS one of my favorite players. All of the episode’s are GREAT and Educational Keep Doing what you’re doing.🙏🏾🙏🏾💪🏾💪🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
This was wonderful, Guys- god bless you all having this great man on the show, just great!! Man, I wish you two had really seen him play live..!! I saw him against the Sixers and me and my friends were psyched to see these two great teams play. So the game starts out and the Sixers are feeding Andrew Toney every time down and Toney's taking it to Gervin, scores the first 2 or 3 buckets and we're thinking, ohh shit this beast of a kid is gonna smoke the Spurs tonight, but George started to wake up and before you knew it he starts drilling shot after shot, it was a clinic out there, man, that incredible bank shot just kept dropping, then the Sixers pressing up on George allowed George to start to cut to the hoop, for dunks and layups, we even saw two or three of these amazing finger rolls, we were going nuts- upshot? Toney finished around 20, Doctor had maybe 25, and Gervin? Ohh he had 47..... never forget that game
I followed Ice his whole career from February 1973 all the way to the hall of Fame May 6 1996 I was his shotgun man in New York city and I look like James Silas want to say love you Iceman 47 years
"Cold as the Ice Man poster, before it started wrinkling!!"-Common Sense. Man, I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. I remember when that poster first came out. My cousin (which was more like a big brother to me) had it. He got it from a store (now defunct)called Athletic Attic. If I could get my hands on one today, I'd hang it like it just came out. Ice Man (Mr. Gervin/respect) is a real one. Absolutely love this podcast & where Darius & Q are going. I always end my post with this fun fact; I have a daughter that plays Varsity & AAU volleyball. Any time that she gets the kill, she taps her head like Q & Darius Miles used to after a dunk lol!!! Keep going...
this man averaged over 26 a game for his career! and over 30 with 50% fg multiple times! one of the greatest scorers ever. period. put some respect on the mans name!
Only brother my size and age 65 that can educate these yung guns. MUCH LOVE, from Gary, Indiana. YOUR PLAY WAS ICE!! Learned to call it off the glass,so guys would not think it was luck.

Fuckin A (& B & C)! What a beautiful interview. The master of the finger roll & so much else reveals himself to be a true gentleman, & a very wise man as well. This episode belongs in the historical archives, never to be forgotten. Thank you, D Miles & Q, for doing what you do...bonne continuation, & please keep it up!
"Everybody can dunk man, but very few can fingerroll. " 🥶... said with the coolness of the iceman himself. That phrase was the jist of this interview. #swag
Best sports podcast out man. These boys keep it professional, you get to hear great insight on the player they’re interviewing and it’s entertaining always!! Keep up the work fellas.
LUV the continued season of having some of the OGs of ball. Yung'ins need to know. Work translates to success no matter the era. Like the mentioning of grades too...not all players gonna make a living at this here. Luv the talk about NBA/ABA merging with players with something to prove.
These bros get better with each podcast. I was about to comment that this the best then realized I thought the same of the last one. Fabulous hearing the Iceman talk about the bump and grind of the old days.
So underrated!!!! One of the top 20 players to ever lace em up. When you rate them all pound for pound! I grew up a huge fan of ICE 🧊 Peace and love from Chicago!
I'm old enough to have watched 98% of Gervin's career, yet I don't know which I like the best, watching him play or listening to him talk basketball and life.
