Absolutely amazing. I could never imagine they could do this song "live" and sound so close to the original. One of my all time favorite songs. Wonderful job. Great video.
I saw 10cc live in St Ives back in 83 along with other acts, they played this song and it was a magical moment for me, in a field with the sun going down, holding onto my girlfriend at the time. Every time I hear this song it takes me right back there again.
In my life I met someone who had the wow factor but it wasnt love!!..Today I found my hope and love and its Debbie...Simply,,pure,,hope,,and us...One day and forever....Chris
One of my favorite songs of all time..brings me back memories from the summer of 1975 and I was 21 and had a crush on a girl named Bridget who my best friend Kathy always teased me about all that summer of 1975
Great comment 220773! I can only add that the crafting of this song; every ounce and fiber of it, is genius personified. I remember thinking to myself back in the 70's when I was first in love this song summed up every emotion I was wrestling with. This incredible forgotten masterpiece sadly has been swallowed by the the largely complacent pablum offered today. Gems still exist that are written even today, but sadly are not given quality airtime exposure (as in the past) by mainstream radio.
Know this song on guitar. Phenomenal chord changes. Cascading pre bridges, and a thoughtful bridge. Nice vocal arrangements. This song is top notch, in my book. Chord change facilitates a unique melody. Always sounds fresh.
10CC was played alot on KISS 99.5 FM San Antonio, TX in the middle seventies and late seventies. The program director at the time, whomever they were, was brilliant. The DJ's were brilliant. To this day I still have music in my head from those times. Unortunately I had to sell all my vinyls to eat. Thank God for TH-cam because Ido not know of another entity where I can go back in time and relive the greastest days of my life. I do not care what band members performed cuz it was amazing.
I went to see 10cc last night at the tunbridge wells assembly hall they were sooooo brilliant i was in aww just a fantastic band was well impressed with the performance !!! love to see them again soon i hope .
He's been playing for other artists so long, even touring with them, that I now state I'd love to see him and Gary Brooker - another fantastic artist - do some gigs together, they've got so much in common, they should do as Elton and Billy did.
I was not expecting this much from them being live, thinking it would be hard for them to reproduce they're great recording. But seeing them here reaffirms my thinking that they are genius. Doing their best not to disappoint And doing it well. Great band !
To be honest, i suspect there is more than a small amount of perfect pre-recorded vocals here, to be sure to be sure they sound tiptop. Still done well tho.
Yeah, we're all nostalgic and missing the original members. I get that - many of us grew up with this stuff. A better time when music was actually music and the world wasn't going crazy. The problems back then seem to dwarf ours now. But how can we not miss the old stuff when the new shit makes us puke?
the lead singer lef the band in the late 80's now you have graham gouldman(the lead writer) and only 4 members, compared the the 18 orginal. even though this is ture they still sound amazing in 2010. I have seen them twice in 2010 once in southen once in salisbury. 10cc need to keep going!
The thing that amazes me about this song so much is that the technique used to create the ethereal vocals was WAY ahead of its time for 1975 when the song originally came out. Nowadays nearly all keyboards and synthesizers have ethereal choruses and voices on them. As I remember reading, the original ethereal vocals were the work of one man's voice that was dubbed many times over and changed pitch to create the effect...similar to the way Enya creates her ethereal vocals. high tech for 1975!
Sorry but I have to disagree with all Eric Steward lovers this guy is just as good, I vividly rememmer dancing my girl friend around the floor in 1975 whispering this in her ear and 36 years later i'am still with her I guess I was in love really
Great live version. I didn't think it was the original singer but it is still a top-notch performance and if they ever tour over here around Fort Campbell, KY I would go see them in a second. This is a song I over analyze and think he was really hurt in love or something. I mean come on, "I keep your picture, upon the wall. It hides a nasty stain that's lying there?" that's just cruel lyrics. Lol!
Even though it isn't Eric singing, I think overall the remaining guys have certainly polished this song to the point that it still shines sun-bright in their set- for my money they beat the recorded version. Mainly because of the clarity of the bass and the smoothness of their live vocal performance.
Yes, Only bassist/ backing vocals Graham Gouldman of the originals. The lead vocalist can't reach the high notes as well as the original and incomparable Eric Stewart's McCartneyesque vocals. Still, the FEEL and the instrumental chords/arrangement are spot on as the original recording. Huge loving and sad memories of my former girlfriend in Boston, Mari, as we drove around Boston on Cambridge Street in 1975 or '76 and this came on the car radio...a revelation hearing it for the first time. Summed up my longing and loss for her perfectly, and still does...for all the women I loved who got away!
THIS SONG IS THE SYMBOL OF THE NINETEENSEVENTIES. It sums up every feature of that decade, from its early years onto the following ones, that this song actually ANTICIPATED and FORESAW. Ahead of its time. It's not just me saying this: Elton John, Bryan Ferry, Phil Collins, Freddie Mercury, Billy Joel, Sir Paul McCartney ALL SAID SO. :-)
Yes, 10cc used the Mellotron keyboard for much of that original recording. Mellotrons had been around for a while, event hen, but they adapted it especially well for the recording, to the point that when this one singe track was presented as a demo, they were immediately signed. Mellotron uses a cumbersome set of recorded tapes that "play" when a keyboard note is struck.
@fix135 I´m a big fan of Eric Stewart and no one can sing this song better that E.S but anyhow, I like a lot this version of nowdays 10CC. A lead singer is not bad at all. It´s a shame that Eric is not along with Graham anymore.
Look around on youtube for the story about how they recorded "Not in Love". There are a few different ones out there. Really interesting and technologically way ahead of it's time. Because of the recording technique, they had to lip synch to the video. But this video proves that it can be sung live.
35 years of technology provides the ability to perform this Live, to capture the 1970s studio magic.
One of the greatest songs ever performed. Everytime I listen to it brings back memories from the 70's best decade bar none. 5:36
Absolutely amazing. I could never imagine they could do this song "live" and sound so close to the original. One of my all time favorite songs. Wonderful job. Great video.
Well done boys, not the original team band but is 10 cc like in 70S
The lead singer is really amazing..
You boys are great
Always liked this song, its truly a classic, reminds me of summertime....
I saw 10cc live in St Ives back in 83 along with other acts, they played this song and it was a magical moment for me, in a field with the sun going down, holding onto my girlfriend at the time. Every time I hear this song it takes me right back there again.
someone agrees that this may be the most beautiful music ever recorded? they had a lot of work to make it, and it was perfect
Love this song... He does a great job singing...
Wilson does Eric Stewart justice. Great vocal.
You wouldn’t believe the feeling dancing a slow dance at my 9th grade dance when this came out. Thanks for those days Elizabeth wherever you are.
Well they are not the original team from 1975, but they are doing very good..
Well done boys
They sound as good now as way back then.....smooooooooooooth music...Love their sound!!!Thanks 4 posting :-)
In my life I met someone who had the wow factor but it wasnt love!!..Today I found my hope and love and its Debbie...Simply,,pure,,hope,,and us...One day and forever....Chris
I want to cry at how amazing this sounds. Thanks for posting!
I am too need to cry with😮 you 💖😭

Really enjoy the guitar part
We love Russia the best!)))
wow, makes the song even more impressive
Amazing live... whoever is lead singing!! 😘

i love this band since 1979.
One of my favorite bands..lots of memories here..and there of course.
19 ans en 1975 juste avant de partir à l'armée que de chemin parcouru depuis ce temps, des adieux sur des quais de gare ,Quelle belle époque
They do really still have it! Awesome!
"ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY SPECTACULAR"!!!👏👏👍👍
God, this song brings back good memories. Makes me smile. They are just as good as when they sang it in the 70's.
Woop Woop ! Great Band, more please !
But I am going in love with this beautifull song. Thanks a lot to 10CC and Justin
No one should sing this song except ERIC STEWART period!!
Amazing still to this day
Clássico dos anos 70´s imortal
I went to see 10cc last night at the tunbridge wells assembly hall they were sooooo brilliant i was in aww just a fantastic band was well impressed with the performance !!! love to see them again soon i hope .
Excellent song from the 75 and still is a classic....
saw this live great song a classic
Was this Ottawa Bluesfest?
He's been playing for other artists so long, even touring with them, that I now state I'd love to see him and Gary Brooker - another fantastic artist - do some gigs together, they've got so much in common, they should do as Elton and Billy did.
Sounds exactly as it did in 1979. Perfection.
1975
Most artistic band! Great they're still together.
The soundtrack of my youth...I miss you KFRC and Dr. Don Rose......
I was not expecting this much from them being live, thinking it would be hard for them to reproduce they're great recording.
But seeing them here reaffirms my thinking that they are genius.
Doing their best not to disappoint
And doing it well.
Great band !

This is my favorite song from 10cc:)
OMG....Awesome!!!!! Ahhhh, the Memories!!!!
The song still holds up.
2. Corona Winter und der Song tröstet einen immer wiedet
just like mary ford's multiple re-recoeding started a trend- 10 CC was ahead of their time--but--TIMELESS-
Trance music.
No drums, except the bass drum quietly thumping away like a heartbeat.
The Harmonies are priceless ...
This is how you sing live!
Love LOL &
ERIC 🇺🇸
I love this song excellent.
I remember giving my mom and dad money to stop at the record/head shop to buy this 8-track for me. Sadly it disintegrated several years ago.
La admosfera musical es grandiosa... cuando salio esta rolisima fue muy adelantada en su tiempo, vanguardia total...genios.
Provoca uma sensação muito boa... Incrivelmente linda! 💖
The best song I ever heard bar none
Música de verdade, linda !!!

Mick Wilson is incredible

Breathtaking !
He still has a very youthful voice.

Saw them in carlisle 1912. Cannot wait. Till the concert at kendal
watch the video documentary and see how much went into the backing tracks..this song cannot be sung live without it...
Still pretty darn good😊

me recuerda cuando yo era un chaval
One of the all-time worldwide most-played songs. But no Eric Stewart, and not sure where this fits into the blues genre.

saw them 3 times ,1st time with original line up,without eric stewart you can forget it
