I missed this fight because I was prepping to leave for college the next day. Thanks for posting this.

I’d be interested to see how a fight like this would be received by the general public. Scott wasn’t no 3 strike felon, he killed someone. I don’t know if the public would be pissed off about the boxer being a killer or the multiple broadcasts they did on national television featuring him.

The murder charge was drop against Scott and the robbery charge stuck it didn’t matter either way if took place today it still would have went on.

Scott made a serious miscalculation and his belief that he was a boxer was idiotic. Fact that he didn’t change his tactics after some rounds goes to show you that he was an amateur in every sense of the word. Yeah we’re gonna go to Yahweh state prison and watch you dance around when the only reason why people are tuned in b/c of his aggression and style prior to this fight. What a blockhead!

Yea i was wondering why scott didn't come with it in this fight too.. He was off in his fight with Jerry" the Bull" martin be fore he fought Qawi. He wasnt the same after bein stripped of his ranking. WBA weren't puttin up wit his ass cause he still had to go to trial for murder and he was still in prison.

@@oneindachamber I think because he was so well spoken and the fact that he obviously had natural ability it was intriguing to watch for most. There are promoters out there that are pretty disgusting when it comes promoting fighters of questionable character. I always bring up that dirtbag Ayala Jr. as an example of scumbaggy moves. His management team was able to silence one of his accusers, a family friend he sexually assaulted with money. You would think that if someone admitted being a rapist his promoter would acknowledge that there was a problem and he was a serious liability. There was talk that he was sleeping with Kathy Duva who was his promoters wife yet the guy still kept him on. With Scott he had a ally in the prison warden who believe in rehabilitation and after he left no one was willing to step up to the plate for him. I’m just glad that he lost everything based on his performances more than his prison sentence because I don’t believe that he deserved any of me publicity in the first place. Harold Letterman said he was the best light heavyweight he had ever seen even better than Roy Jones Jr.. can you imagine this day and age Bob Arum going to wherever they have Felix Verdejo locked up and putting they on a fight card?? Someone realize that that whole message is not something that should be glamorized.
