Not only are CCR one of the greatest bands ever, but they flourished at at time when the predominant sound was psychedelic and they went against the grain and still had great success.

@@QUINTUSMAXIMUS, psychedelic music or psychedelic rock is a style of music popular in the late 1960s that was largely inspired by hallucinogens or so called "mind expanding" drugs, such as marijuana and LSD, that reflected drug-induced states through the use of feedback, electronics and intense volume. There is a lot of info on this kind of music, you just have to look this stuff up. Good luck.

That is because people back then didn't bother to try to categorize and divide rock music up into 'gendre's'. We loved rock music and all of the different expressions and styles that grew out of the early 3 chord rock n' roll. There were only really 3 or 4 different styles of music that were played on radio in the early days of R n' R. Country, which was referred to as Country and Western, Contemporary, and Rock N' Roll. Classical and Jazz had there place too but weren't played on the radio very often. Things stayed that way until 1963-4 when it all changed because of a band called The Beatles! Rock music grew exponentially from then on and meshed, incorporated and inspired so many styles that categorizing them wasn't really important. Just listening, being inspired by and enjoying all of the different bands and their own interpretation of 'rock' was the norm. In fact The Beatles were CCR's favorite band and their main inspiration!!!

@@patriciakeith6755 that was a lot of words to not answer his request. He asked for examples of the genre not a definition. @Basil Maz some examples would be the Doors, the Who, the Byrds, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Pink Floyd. there are a whole lot more. hope that helps.

The band initially consisted of Lead Vocalist, Lead guitarist, and Primary Songwriter John Fogerty: his brother Rhythm Guitarist Tom Fogerty; bassist Stu Cook; and Drummer Doug Clifford. These members had played together since 1959, first as the Blue Velvets and later as the Golliwogs. Ramble Tamble, Pagan Baby, It’s Just a Thought, are a few great songs that didn’t get radio play back in the day probably due to their length. Molina is a fun little song.

You guys really need to listen to Blood, Sweat and Tears, "You've made me so very happy." I enjoy watching your reactions. God bless you both.
