Another great addition to your series. So much of the Middlesbrough I loved gone.

Thank you Gary, sadly we've lost a lot over the decades.

Again I love this simpler and better times.
I'm only 54 so cannot recall too many of these photos.
Love to be able to travel back in time (as ridiculous as it may seem) to have a good scoot around.
    Thanks again Steohen.
I keep on spreading the word lol

Hi Ant I'm 65 but can remember pre Cleveland Centre when much of the town centre was still housing and there was certainly more of sense of community before it became more commercialised. Ironically now with the decline of the high street maybe the town centre will have to change again.
      Steve.

@BigMack1959 As a retired Geography teacher I couldn't agree more.
But not expensive or high rise hosuing
      Affordable homes for nor.al people.
      And definitely not university property.
They have wholly responsible for the influx of thousands ot Nigerian and Imdian people who then work in care and apply for citizenship
I'm not against immigration or multiculturalism.
However this influx has places huge pressure on housing and driven up rent costs.
Pressure on schools and health care.
And the centre of Middlesbrough s sense of Britishness has all but been eroded.
      Shame on Teesside University
Total greed on the part of then university as they charge upwards of 15k for Masters Degrees

Sadly Ant I think the town centre will become an extended part of the Uni's campus. The council seem to prefer this as they think this will become the new cash cow after seeing what's happening with other "University Towns".

One thing I have noticed is that even though new houses have been built in this area. When comparing the old and new photographs, it looks like there are a lot more houses in the old photographs.
