Heartbreaking to watch. I remember it from my childhood in the 50s. Nothing left now, just a soulless wilderness.

I got the shock of my life when watching this, a total surreal experience of unexpectedly finding your parents wedding photo on here (Oct 67). My grandparents who are also on the photo long since past, combined with the fantastic background sounds made me brake down in tears. But then later on, the photo of the baby been held by the guy on the scooter is me ! As is the other baby photo , held by my wonderful lovely brilliant mam on my christening day (Granville road, June 71)

Yeah it certainly is Chris! As far as I knew them photos were stored away in shoeboxes, I was thinking how the hell was I seeing them on here?? My mam informed me that my auntie had took photos of them to put on her Facebook page!

I remember going to the middle house as a kid and listening to the juke box . I remember those grand churches and the old primary school . Lannies ice cream even recall a petrol station I think . Those buildings where all beautiful victorian builds . All gone . My earliest memories where growing up on Milton Road. Thry demolished that a long time ago

I was born in Eversham road in the 30s then moved to Vickers Street ( now long gone).
I remember getting an ice cream at lannies and the Lyric cinema that used to hold Sarurday mattanies for the children, and the Eston Granp9o
6ige farm where I spent much of my childhood. Moved to Middles rough at the age of 9, but still have fond memories

Thank you, All I can say or think is, "When I was young" and my family was alive. Why did the Rec go like it did that I cannot understand? unless more houses. No no football games to watch on a Sunday like it was, nothing just weeds.

This is so sad to watch, a whole communuty gone, buildings and people. And what is there now, nothing but wilderness. It's exactly the same with South Bank, the council demolishes and builds nothing. The area has been devastated by the council, WHY.

Hello and Thankyou for watching and commenting and apologies for the delay in replying. I do wish I had taken pictures in my younger years, the dramatic change stirs many emotions & memories. Nothing remains of my first Home, first School & Secondary school, first Flat after leaving home, fist workplace, beginning to think I'm a Jinx. Thanks once again👍

Good morning Chris. Sorry for the delay in replying. Thankyou for watching and Thankyou for all your kind words. Over the years i have saved pictures from all the different Facebook sites and hours of searching on the internet. I’ll Google certain words then see where it takes me.
