Your angles are so good it looks like I’m watching through your eyes 👏🏻
It's all thanks to @bmwselena She always goes above and beyond to get the shots. Thanks Edward!
@@ShopLifeTV @bmwselena thanks to the both of you for being awesome content creators!!
The most detailed and informative install video I’ve ever seen 👌🏻 well done!
Top notch camera work and love the detail you take to explaining everything, showing each component step by step, wish every how to video was this well done. Keep it up
this was actually a great walkthrough of how to remove and install downpipes. good job!
just installed DP on my car, great video, so many little tips in this video...appreciate you doing this
Appreciate the F80 DIY content. Your content is always solid. I'm doing this upgrade soon so this will be a huge help!
Thanks Jamiele, have a lot more F8x stuff coming up! Good luck with the install!
Thank you for this video!! You have no idea how much this video helped with all the difficult camera angles, it made it much easier. Tough job on jack stands tho 😮💨
Amazingly detailed install guys! Can’t wait to hear her roar!
Thanks Rich! The F80 sounds much better now!
Your tutorials are the best on you tube.Surprised you don’t get a lot more views. Best wishes from the U K
Excellent video. Helped out alot when installing downpipes on my M4!
Nah man I appreciate it for you showing a well structured video on installing Downpipes on a f8x. Always wanted to know how to do it.
Thanks man! Always love to put more info out there!
@@ShopLifeTV would you show how to do a down pipe on b58
Nice if much of your audience here have F80! Not so much so for E36, E46, or the many that follow! anymore, but thank you for what you have helped people with.
It's a DIY for anyone to use not just my current audience but future audiences as well. We still have all of our e46s and our e36 so there will always be content on those as well!
@@ShopLifeTV i love this actually, i have an e46 daily, and an F82 show car
You shredded those gloves. Thanks for the video!
Brother that was on point!! Excellent
This was like a video instruction manual if was great I’ve never done anything like that on a car before and it turned out great. Only took the whole day lol but I would have never done it without this video
Great install video guys. I missed the before and after sound clip ;-) . Regards Nico.
Thanks Nico! Next video has the full review. Should be live later this week
Superb DIY
very usefull guide how to exchange the downpipes at M3/M4, thank you for sharing. I am just planing to do this work. Please can you tell me if there is recomended some torq for screws which should be used for right tightening? Thank you, Richard
Thanks for the detailed video. How do you suggest I pass smog test after these are installed ? I currently have ARM downpipes and need to smog the car.
Could you do a quick short on how to lift the engine from the passenger side engine mount to install the OEM cats back up? Was about to get a DP myself but what you just said discouraged me in case I need to put the OEM back on :(.
I have been working on my exhaust lately and was told that I can empty my stock catalytic converter and will serve the same purpose as a downpipe.. It really didn't make any sense at first but then dug more into it and it seems pretty legit.. What differentiates a 500$ ER downpipe from an emptied Catalytic Converter? i just buy a 150 us cheap cat on eBay'
A few questions: Do I have to use the copper M8 nuts? If so then why?
Can I use SS or Titanium nuts instead? Thanks
Does the after market downpipes cause engine light? If so what you do to clear it? Thanks. Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
You'll probably get downstream O2 codes. I'm not sure how that's handled on the F8x platform.
Yes it will. You will get cat efficiency codes, which can be solved with a simple tune. We won't be tuning our F80 until we address the crank hub issue, then we can give the s55 all the boost lol Thanks man!
how long should it take to out back in verse down pipes with stock pipes in order to pass an inspection? thanks
Hey Is being a technician your main everyday job or is it on the side?
What a job for us northerners 😂😂😂 ive done so much stuff on cars, and this job really kicked my ass.... I did everything I could to get the downpipes out, but i ended up having to cut my downpipes out with a sawzaw... what a pain in the ass!! Now i cant get the damn seals out of the turbo housings 😂 heats always the answer, but id hate to hit my turbo wirh a torch lol
How long would it take for install and removal of old downpipes?
Hey great video! I’m wondering if there is a big difference compared to putting the stock downpipes back in? I had a shop put the aftermarket one for me for around $400. And couple years later I want to have the stock exhaust back on and went to a different shop because i have moved and they quoted me $1100 to put the stock one in. They said it’s way more difficult to change it to stock and they basically need to “rebuilt” the whole exhaust. Is that the case?
If it's just downpipe, it should be a direct fit like the video. The only thing I can think of for quoting that price is if you were replacing your o2 sensors.
I dont even own BMW but i watch these videos anyway.
Hahaha you never know what you might learn!
@@ShopLifeTV i followed your channels since 2017 since Selena's LS swap series.

would you recommend having a professional do this, or would this be something that anyone can do as long as they have some mechanical knowledge?
Any Problems with the DME?
How long does this job take to do?
Any downsides on using 4mm vacuum hoses instead of the 3.5?
If it doesn't fit tight, then there is a chance for a vacuum leak
Anyone have personal knowledge of resonated catless downpipes for the s55 vs a regular catless downpipe? Do these little 4 inch resonators do anything for the sound? Basically is it worth it for me to buy new resonated downpipes and pay for a new install?
Yes arm resonted is the best sounding donoipe
You’re supposed to say “this mod is for racing only and I ride with all cats”
What he said ^ lol
great video but... no sound sample?
Thanks! Before and afters with driving footage coming up in the next video where we review the new exhaust system!
Jeez after seeing all of the complexity of this engine bay I’ll just stick with my M54.
Same here.
Definitely much more complex, but so much easier to get more performance out of these newer turbo engines!
You should grow out a mullet like my friend rafay
Bolts are flat on front. Screws are pointy on the front.
All that work just to leave plastic charge pipes on that will crack over time. 😔
You boys think I got a shot with a 600 credit score ?
no dealer is gonna sell you a f80 or f82 with a 600 credit score...you will need a co-signer
Step 1, get a lift!
Damn it. Watched the whole video, waiting for sound clips at the end. 🙄
My bad man! Here's the video on the whole exhaust system with driving footage and sound clips: th-cam.com/video/2q2k1XO3hTU/w-d-xo.html
Where’s the before and after clips?
Coming up in the next video where we install the new cat back exhaust. We have driving footage to compare the before and after!
Just uploaded the full review video: th-cam.com/video/2q2k1XO3hTU/w-d-xo.html
Where’s the startup man?
I got you! th-cam.com/video/2q2k1XO3hTU/w-d-xo.html
My goodness everything is so buried on this engine..
Honestly it's not that bad. Everything comes apart pretty easily!
stunk lol
