Only change PWM_INI_2D and PWM_MOVIE_INI in 100!!! Leave other settings at default (MID: 8, MIN: 0.) PWM_INI_2D effects Game Mode. PWM_MOVIE_INI effects all other modes. This is enough to stop dimming. Otherwise u can´t change your Backlight anymore. Full 100 is not good for dark rooms. :) Remember: Make a picture before you change any settings in service menu. Don´t change other settings without knowledge

Had to do very similar modifications on our MU6400 TV - and I couldn't get into that menu without using the Samsung engineer remote app on an Android phone which had an IR blaster. Infuriating!
Forced global dimming is criminal and you should be able to turn it off, to have it forced on even when all the normal user mode options are disabled is infuriating. Never buying a Samsung TV again due to this and a few other design issues (panel flashes and very poor backlight spread to name just two).
This works also for the issues with streaming apps? I would like to watch GoT or The Witcher without painting black all my windows. Thanks!

Hi Mahesh,
After rising the PWM values and then saving them by turning off the TV with the remote like showed in your video, everything works fine.
However, after unplugging the power cord and turning on the TV it dims all over again (does it lose some dimming/brightness parameters when booting?!?). I have already tried everything possible (turn off eco sensor in menu, disable ambient light, etc.) but nothing helps.
Worth to mention: this happens only with the dimming function (-->adjusted colours through ADC/WB keep work fine as tweaked when the power cord is unplugged)?!?
Did I miss a step before leaving the SM to save the adjusted “DIM” parameters permanently?

Doesn’t happen when when i unplug or power failure. Only after firmware update. Turn off auto updates.

this is just for auto dimming
I have read that Netflix displays their movies in Dolby Vision HDR technology and Samsung has rivarly with their HDR10+. That's why the picture is so dark on Samsung tv's, and we can't do anything about it right now.

Hello. Can you help me please. Changes were made on the samsung secret menu accidentally and afterwards I noticed too much lighting that was disturbing. I made a remainder and a factory remains but the problem still persists. The model of my UA55RU7100SXMV TV. do you have a secret menu copy for this model. Or do something to fix this ???
Updating the firmware usually resets everything- check for a software update

Hey bro just wanted to say thank you for this. It has been hell trying to find something like this! I have a TU7000, and whenever I’m playing a game on my series X I always have this “White fog” in normal to bright areas while playing a game and this “Black Fog” when I’m in lower light areas of the game. For example, Halo Infinite, it’s awesome tv with perfect blacks but when your in a area that’s not completely pitch black I get these “Fog” like clouds lol. I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about.
*** I literally just changed my TU7000’s PWMINI2D and PWMMOVIEINI. I believe that will help the issue.
The factory default setting for PWMINI2D was 15, I changed it to 50.
PWMMOVIEINI factory setting was 30, I changed it to 60.
- I know these settings are basically the dimming setting that Samsung used to have on the MAIN picture menu before they changed it, However I did not want to go to high so I chose 50 and 60. For now atleast. Is one of these for movies and the other one for games? I couldn’t find out the answer for which each they are.

Actually after three years the backlight started giving me problems on this TV and recently died out completely on one side. I gave it to a local shop to fix but they f*cked it up. So not sure if its because of these settings that caused the early demise of the backlight.

I may have an idea what happened to your tv,
Possibly depending on how high you changed one of the PWM options it may have affected its lifespan HOWEVER as long as you didnt touch the PWM MAX option which I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t because you know what that setting is lol, your tv should’ve lived longer. From my experience only thing I can think of is you had a defective panel to begin with and all you did was speed up it’s already short life span lol.
It seems most accurate because ALOT OF THESE PARTS are alll the same for several DIFFERENT MODEL TV’s, same type of model (Direct Lit LED Panel). I could take my TU7000 and make it a TU8000 just by the SVC panel, if I knew all the settings for example.

Ok so you know I already told you I changed the
- PWM_INI_2D from 15 default to 50
And I also changed the
PWM_Movie_INI from 30 default to 60.
Now I’m not sure exactly what those two do but I don’t think I see a difference, I know not to touch the “PWM MAX” setting lol however that just leaves the PWM MID and
PWM MID. Would you be able to explain to watch each of those PWM settings is/does? This way I know if I have change the PWM MID next?
I’d appreciate it if you can. This TV’s dimming has been driving me crazy for years now, especially with a xbox series X trying to play Halo Infinite and everything looks,runs, and latency performance is great for a 4K entry level tv but certain bright areas and dark areas are my only problem.

I haven’t messed with those settings in years and since I’ve already thrown away my tv i cannot check it for ya. I did lots of research on forums etc back when I made the video. Anyways I am done with backlight tvs gonna save up and get an OLED. Sorry about that.
@@MaheshWalatara lol no problem. From what I gathered only mess around with the PWM 2D & PWM MOVIE. Those are the actual settings the controls the dimming, everything else don’t touch.
And same here! I’m done with these TVs too. They have great blacks but QLED is next! Their becoming cheaper. I seen a Samsung 65” Q70 for $700, same price as my 65” TU7000 from 2021! So that’s the plan.
Can’t decide though on getting the Q70A or Q70B though, B’s newer but A’s still actually better. The B’s has become a little cheaper. It’s basically a entry level QLED! Like how when the TU7000 first came out in 2020, 4K entry level, HDR10 and the one thing you can’t beat on my tv is in game mode. My Latency is never higher then 25! Idk how a TU7000 can do that lol.

I'm just curious how you figured this out? I was helping my dad trouble shoot his new TV and we are pretty techy. He hated this feature and wanted to return it. Seems to be working better now but still wtf it's so buried and hidden.

I'm not sure why they add this PWM to their TVs and what purpose it serves, but it is really annoying, especially when trying to game, it makes dark areas even darker.. thank you for the fix!

i need major help. I have recently purchased a samsung TU8000 (50 inch) model and i just cant seem to access the advanced menu! i press 0000 with my remote, samsung BTW but that remote is from the ru7100. I think the scum at samsung changed the code with their crappy tizen os. please some respond!

I have TU7000 and for service menu I had to press Mute 1 8 2 POWER. For advanced settings 0000 worked just fine. BUT even with all pwm in 100 I can't see any difference

I try 0000 to access advanced settings but it doesnt work. I have a q90t and my remote doesnt have numbers so i downloaded a remote app. Is that causing an issue. Everything works accept advanced settings.

@@marcelo.caetano That works for bringing the service menu up, but later on you have to press "0000" to show the additional options to turn off Auto Dimming. That code does nothing on the new 2020 TV's.

Some people just don't have it for some reason.
B. You could try this. Mine worked this way. Mute button, 1 8 2 power. It will turn off the reload with service mode

Auto dimming is so stupid. I don't care if black is a little grey. The picture quality is better with no auto dimming. I changed only pwm in movie. So auto dimming is off only in movie and hdr mode. So I can select on or off..

I dont know if you still own this TV or read the comments,but if you do. Is there any possible way for you to give me the ADC/WB Results from the Service Menu ? I only need these damn numbers. I bought this Tv for couple bucks from eBay. Everything looked fine but HDMI Signal is messed up because of it. Already contacted samsung and asked for those ADC / WB Numbers and they really said someone has to come out and fix it for 270 €. So 270€ just to change numbers 🤣
