  • When a Texas homeowner pulled into his driveway, three men jumped out armed with guns and tried to smash in the windows of his car. Fortunately, the driver and his son were able to drive off unharmed. The victim, Mark Gardner, believes the thieves followed him home from an ATM. The terrifying follow-home attacks are becoming a shockingly common occurrence across the United States. Now, cops say now more than ever you have to be vigilant. Inside Edition's Steven Fabian has more.

When I was about 10 years old, my mom was driving us home and noticed someone behind us that had been following us for a while. When we turned onto our street, they turned as well. She ended up driving right past our house before leaving the neighborhood, with them following us the entire time. She drove straight to the police station after that, and they of course stopped following at that point. Because of that specific situation, I always pay attention to who is behind me and how long they've been there.

This is why you don't "stay in your own world" I've avoided at least 3 instances that could have ended up badly for me.. one time, I was walking home from a 24-hour grocery store at 2 in the morning and noticed a truck pass me and my brother and turn around on the street behind us.. as we walked around the corner, the same truck suddenly pulled into the driveway right in front of us, and than his reverse lights were on.. I stopped my brother and said " let's go back to the store".. as soon as we did, they pulled out the driveway and sped down the road.. clearly he was planning to back over us

But the miraculous thing happened as I completely let go of my purse… my wallet flew out as he yanked really hard and they didn’t notice. Thank you god! I had $2500.00 in my wallet that was needed for a friend. All I can say is it was a horrible incident I still have flash backs of. But it was also a miracle my wallet flew out the way it did. This happened in 2016 and the lesson I learned is …I no longer carry a purse or wallet & I no longer take out large sums of cash. Always Always be aware of your surroundings.
