The World is seeing what Booker has always been. He will do whatever he needs to do to help the team win. He always tries to evolve his game. If he has a weakness in his game, by next season he wont have it anymore. If you let him he will try to learn and play every position. Thats Booker for you
its legitimately vindication for all of us suns fans who have gotten TIRED of defending Book against those stupid ass narratives that people continued to try and push
Gained so much respect for Booker throughout these Olympics, he didnt just take a smaller 3 and D role he did it effortlessly and without any sign of ever trying to have a bigger role. Also his defense was dang near Jrue and White levels, that 4th quarter against Serbia was a masterpiece of perfect team basketball
DBook was basically Klay Thompson on the Olympic team. Great on the ball defense; took the bigger guard so Steph could rest on defense; hit the open 3 and clutch shots! I was most impressed with DBook!
@gregoryharlston0602 Believe it or not, when he was drafted, former NBA player Jalen Rose compared him to a young Klay Thompson. So, hes always had these abilities
That pass he made to Steph on Steph’s second to last 3 was a thing of beauty. Booker was close to the basket and could have taken a short shot, but he kicked it out to the best shooter in the world that he knew was on fire. Great court and game awareness. It was the perfect pass at the perfect time - the golden assist.
I said the whole time: Dbook was a hit man out there. Quiet cold and calculated. He was sent out to do a certain job and he executed every game. He was consistently ready to shoot, make the right read, run the lanes and play defense with good ball pressure. Easily one of the main reasons we won
"you can argue they don't win a gold medal without Devin Booker"...I tend to agree....I watched every game and was amazed at his versatility on defense, playmaking, etc. This point can also be made about several other players on the team...it was a true team effort....and I am a Steph FAN!
I don’t know why Steve Kerr is getting so much hate online. He coached an outstanding team and made the right decisions at the right times. In my experience, when a bunch of top scores get together, for instance the 2023-2024 Kentucky wildcats, they don’t end up playing well together because some players try do play each others role. Steve Kerr kept his team under control let them to their 3rd Straight gold medal. That’s hard to do.
Well said! Kerr did a great job making the tough decisions that needed to be made. Nothing else matters but winning a gold medal and that’s what he did.
It's obivious Steve Kerr is overated but a good coach. The reason Kerr is hated is what he did to Jason Tatum. Mind you Tatum is a good player. Watching Steve Kerr coaching makes me puke. Just look at the rotation alone its horrible No wonder everyone Team USA roster is horrible except for 2 players. He is so lucky that he had both KD and Booker on the USA roster. This 2 players alone can adapt to changes in real life to compliment and cover Steve Kerr's mistakes.
@@patrickneilchan27we are spoiled if you think that was bad coaching. I mean did you see the women’s team? Now that is a coaching travesty. Incompetent coaching she didn’t even realize when they were in the bonus with fouls. Zero ball control among players. I agree, Kerr might have made some questionable choices but by no means he's a "bad" coach, it's just that we have too much expectations from him and our team. He got so much undeserving hate, but what matters is that he pulled off a win.
Yes he did but my only problem was his excuse on not playing Tatum more minutes. I’m a warriors fan and I can tell you Kerr is one dimensional coach all he knows how to do is play through curry. Doesn’t matter if Steph is shooting below 30% he will die by that, as evident in this Olympic Steph was pretty struggle until the last 2 games. My point is this 2024 team could beat teams in multiple ways but kerr is one trick pony. Popavich won gold with Durant and Tatum as the go to guys . We didn’t have lebron or curry, kerr would be lost without curry just like he was in fiba World Cup . We had the quality players to win that tournament but Kerr couldn’t get a medal.
Booker contributed to currys rhythm since he was not getting it in the first few games. Booker was very consistent and efficient... Salute to Embiid, AD, edwards, Adebayo, White and to the whole team! They had been great!!!
i'm glad steve kerr as well as others recognized him as the unsung mvp. his 3 against serbia to make it 73-78 was a huge drivin factor in USA's momentum goin forward, despite it bein one shot. he said he'd be the typa guy team usa needs after kuzma put out his tweet, n he stayed true to his wurd. shoutout dbook
People are seeing what we've always seen in Devin here in Phoenix. I could never understand the hate that I saw online, calling him overrated and a whiner. When?? He's a hard worker, never complained even when the team was horrible. No big ego ever, we love him here in Phoenix, we know who he is!
Always liked Booker's game a lot. At the Olympics he demonstrated his high IQ and dedication to winning basketball. Shame that his team was broken apart for KD and Beal, the future doesn't look too good for the Suns. Anyway I wanted to mention that I really don't understand the disregard for role players by some people. It doesn't make sense to me. Basketball is a team game and the whole team works together to form an efficient offense and strong defense. Being a scorer is also "just" a role in the team, they're the ones who finish attacks but it still is a team effort to create advantages, getting the best scorers open shots etc. Even the best iso scorers need to have teammates that spread out and give them the space they need, otherwise they wouldn't score consistently. Not even talking about defense here. So please more props to team basketball, no one plays alone out there. Thanks for the vid ;)
Booker has always wanted to play alongside a group like KD and Beal, so you feeling a certain way about the Suns future isn't a concern to him. At the end of the day what he feels is what matters and not ours
The reason Suns sucks last season because of their Incompetent owner & GM. Thank God to their new HC Bud put some sense into their brains realize both of them wrong to begin with. Watch out Phoenix Suns will be the underdog and most dangerous team NBA this season.
Durant trade was ok it was Beal trade that didn’t make sense . Also since book is a “I’ll do it” type of guy , he took the role of point guard , don’t get me wrong he’s a hood play maker but that’s not his way, imagine Kobe trying to play point guard like lebron, it just wouldn’t work. Now suns have a competent pg , booker can now score move off Val catch and shoot and play defense. He will be in mvp convo
Well said! Everybody is a role player and every role is super important, as shown by Team USA and guys who took pride in being the best they could be in their role. Book, Jrue, D White, Bam...people who talk down on the traditional "role" players don't understand basketball OR they don't value winning.
I never saw Devin Booker as an elite defender, but he definitely proved me wrong in these Olympics. Obviously, playing at this level for 82 games in the NBA would be a huge ask, especially since he's the go-to guy on his team.
Exactly. It would be really cool to see him on a team where he's the third option behind two superstars. Don't think we'll ever see it though. Him playing with KD and Brad Beal is probably the closest we'll get and he still is option 1b generally.
I just was surprised how versatile he was. Defended the best guard so Curry didn’t have to. Did spot up threes. Passed the ball to the open players. Rebound. He did a little bit of everything.
Thinking about it now, it's probably not a coincidence that Booker's most successful season was when he was with Chris Paul still playing at a high level. He had someone else yo run the offense so he could focus mainly as scoring and defense, as his def rating was way better in the 2022 season than any other. In this KD-Book era, the Suns are asking Book to now run the offense as the lead guard and while he's played admirably, they might be spreading him a bit too thin.
That's awesome articulated Bro with out bias on these elite players how crucial it was for role player to execute at the right timing, the unselfishness, D Book and just like giving Steve Curr credit for have role sub-in his subbing at impactful minutes. Fam, i love this video! I was telling my lady how book was solid during the whole Olympics. He was hitting shots from everywhere, assisting. Playing great defense. He did everything lebron did during every minute he had on the floor. 🫡 to Booker.
When you have this much talent on 1 team and you have alpha dogs everywhere, there’s a real chance of ego clashes. I wonder if this is what happened with Kawhi. There was a surprising high level of maturity. LBJ and Steph are great leaders who have big egos but are smarter than their egos are big, they set the tone and everybody followed. Book was way more mature than I thought he would be.
I never realized just how good Booker is until I watched the Olympics. He impacted the game whether he touched the ball or not, and, when he did get it, he always made the right decision. It was beautiful, high IQ basketball.
I was very impressed by Book. When he tried to get into Luka’s head a couple of years ago in the playoffs he got seriously embarrassed. Since then he seems to have dropped the b.s. and just plays how the game should played.
@buffalosoldier7360 Um no. Booker will forever trash talk. Thats who he is and thats what he will always do. However, if something doesn't work out, he is willing to make changes. He's no sore loser. He will accept defeat and try again

Can someone share this video with Jason Tatum’s mom and fans? They are complaining about JT playing time ignoring that team USA basketball is a TEAM sport. I don’t care who you are, if you’re shooting 2/12 AND a defensive liability you shouldn’t get playing time. Players need to get their ego in check. Devin had a great team oriented mindset and that’s why he excelled.
Hate dbook during reg. sea. loved having him on team USA. he was top 4 on team USA (lebron, AD, ANT, Curry). shot at high percentage, was full court pressing on ball handler. we don't win w/o him.
And they say "'Tantrums should be playing over him and argue he didn’t get enough minutes, They don’t even wait for him to heat up" 🤣 Man, that’s not possible when you have 10+ other All-Stars on your team. You have to come out ready all the time. Well DNP was a deathblow and I admit It was unacceptable.
Smaller court = tighter shots. Everybody getting doubled. Team game. Harder shots. They don’t medal and has gas without Book. Serbia, France, Germany medal with length, 3 and Ders, and team dominance.
I agree, arguably the best perimeter defender in the world. He was a big part of this group and another excellent "role" guy. Defend and make open perimeter shots.
At the end of the day, Tatum wasn't needed. We won gold. And who saved team usa? The big 3 plus embiid, booker, AD, and Bam. If we lost, then yes the conversation would be very different. Tatum is only needed if KD was out. If Tatum is mad about his playing time shows his immaturity. He didn't win a chip until he got white and holiday and they played better than Tatum did in the finals. There is a reason why JB won fmvp over Tatum Book was willing to do all the dirty work to win a gold. Tatum wasn't. That alone ends the conversation.
Devin Booker will be tested for the next Olympics where if curry, Durant, and LeBron no longer plays, and the opposing foreign teams get hungrier for gold. people saw the teaser taste for serbias hunger when they almost beat usa and easily beats Germany for bronze
and if you ask me France just got lucky they didn't fought Serbia or USA in semis, because strength wise, US vs Serbia should've been the gold medal match
The truth of the matter is when the NBA sends five of its top 15 players to the Olympics no matter what happens they should win goals I don't care who's playing what role who's getting what minutes if the NBA sends five of their top 15 players a gold medal is the expectation. People like to blow this s*** out of proportion because the NBA likes to send b grade teams to the FIBA games but when it comes to the Olympics we usually send a pretty decent squad that should win gold regardless. The last Olympics the team had half as much talent and gold was still expected and achieved. I'm not sure what the purpose of this video is because I've never really watched the Olympic basketball and said to myself those guys are out there being selfish.
Yes, obviously the US “should” win based on the talent they have. But it’s not that simple. Chemistry matters and these guys only have a couple weeks to develop that. Meanwhile a lot of these guys who play for other countries have been playing together since they were kids and you can see how much international competition means to them. The fiba rules are an adjustment for American NBA players, you could even see guys on the US team calling for goaltends, forgetting that they were playing fiba rules. The spacing is different with no defensive 3 seconds, WAY more physicality than is allowed in the NBA, and these players and coaches are also paid a lot of money to do what they do. It’s the best in the world. So end of the day, you can be the most talented, you have to go execute with limited preparation, with a different style of basketball, and against the best coaches/players in the world.
@@VisionDrivenBasketball bro I've been hearing this crap about the world catching up to the United States in basketball for the last 20 years of my life and it's just not true. it's been proven when America takes basketball seriously there is no competition. the myth of the world catching up it's like the myth of voting Democrat would lead to change most countries might have like one generational talent on their roster half of the USA's roster are generational t talents and the only reason why I'm not saying the entire roster is because they are not going to send all the guys. In the armed forces training and chemistry matters just like in basketball but do you know what is even better than training and chemistry in the armed forces overwhelming Force just like in basketball.
@@TheRealMRGG85 did you watch at all? Or did you just look at final scores and box scores? The US was losing going into the 4th quarter against Serbia in the semis. They got outscored in every quarter but the 4th. Before Steph Curry lost his mind at the end of the championship game, France was within 1 possession. Almost lost to Germany and South Sudan in the exhibitions. Explain to me how that’s “no competition”
@@VisionDrivenBasketball they played Serbia three times blew them out twice one game was competitive. Because the US shot the ball poorly and they still couldn't beat them. In my opinion the USA didn't even really have its best starting 5 out there. They wanted to win but they wanted to win highlighting Stephen Curry LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Lebron James average like five turnovers a game in the Olympics. In the game against France he turned the ball over like two times in the last minute. Steph Curry shot the ball like s***in all but the last two games and the exhibition a game against Serbia. In my opinion the older guys should have gotten less minutes, but I understand why they did what they did. it's about the photo op, it's about saying they're The avengers, it's about having those dream team redeem team comparisons.
@@TheRealMRGG85the American basketballers' have something that the Europeans will never have, it can't be learned it must be in one's DNA, it's called, 'Attitude,' Jordan had it in spades
That’s cause every game in the Olympics you’re expected to win in single play elimination games vs 82 game seasons , the intensity is down significantly
I don't know which games you guys watched but Curry did it himself. All passes to Curry were just normal passes where Steph still had to get rid of the defender by himself, fake take a dribble or two. Nobody was setting up Curry for anything especially not wide open shots.
You twisted saying Curry did it himself. Team sports, Curry against 5 who would win. Curry hit some big time shots at crazy moments. What if the U.S. lost earlier in the round when Curry wasn’t scoring. In reality a lot of people could have gotten the award.
@@thehulk1177 Losing earlier, even 2 games would have meant nothing. You were guaranteed to go on if losing 1 game, you could advance even with 2 losses and only 1 win in a group. Had they sat LeBron's ass down and let Curry play the point in every game ( like he did in the final 3 minutes of the final ) he would not have had those bad games anyway. It is painful to watch LeBron and his slow stupid ass hog the ball for most of the game. Curry had that one bad game because he fell asleep watching him, like most of Lebron's teammates during his 22 year career. It is truly painful watching LeBron cluelessly dribbling out the shot clock every possession. No wonder D.Rose checked into mental institution after just 1 season with Cavs and Kevin Love also spoke about mental problems. Kyrie got outta there maybe in time.
Steph DID NOT DO IT HIMSELF! Those "just normal passes" are the right play! For example, that sequence with Booker (3:00) is a perfect! Book could have forced up a shot but instead he drove to the hoop, drew the defense in, and kicked it out to Steph! All Steph had to do was a slight pump fake, one step to the left and open jumper! That was just a normal pass but that was the right play and DIRECTLY contributed to Steph's shot! Just because that was a simple pass doesn't mean it wasn't the right play or that it didn't help Steph! Also, the very first 3 that Steph hit in the final 2 minutes was off a pick AND behind the back pass from Lebron. When Steph caught the ball, the defender was trying to recover from the Bron pick and Steph used a quick ball fake to freeze him. Steph dribbled to the right and hit a pull up 3. Lebron's PICK and PASS directly contributed to Steph's easy jumper! Steph rarely saw wide open shots but those are two examples OF NORMAL passes that directly contributed to Steph getting relatively easy jumpers! Of course, Steph STILL had to knock them down!
The World is seeing what Booker has always been. He will do whatever he needs to do to help the team win. He always tries to evolve his game. If he has a weakness in his game, by next season he wont have it anymore. If you let him he will try to learn and play every position. Thats Booker for you

Can you make a video on how to become an elite defender? God bless!!
Book’s dimes to Steph = 🤑
Bruh, your insights are also 💸
booker was AMAZING
Dev was in his Momba bag all Olympics 🔥🏀 💪🏾
Can you start up your nba player workouts again, preferably SGA
Can someone share this video with Jason Tatum’s mom and fans? They are complaining about JT playing time ignoring that team USA basketball is a TEAM sport. I don’t care who you are, if you’re shooting 2/12 AND a defensive liability you shouldn’t get playing time. Players need to get their ego in check. Devin had a great team oriented mindset and that’s why he excelled.
I used to think Booker as inferior and too sassy from the Luka era, his performance in the Olympics gave me a new perspective of him.
Hate dbook during reg. sea. loved having him on team USA. he was top 4 on team USA (lebron, AD, ANT, Curry). shot at high percentage, was full court pressing on ball handler. we don't win w/o him.
Dru and Book were the glue!
facts!
Im a book fan now!
And they say "'Tantrums should be playing over him and argue he didn’t get enough minutes, They don’t even wait for him to heat up" 🤣
Man, that’s not possible when you have 10+ other All-Stars on your team. You have to come out ready all the time. Well DNP was a deathblow and I admit It was unacceptable.
He is as good as prime Klay Thompson...excellent defense and shooter.
DBook played Klay Thompson's role on the Olympics!
Booker show his utmost respect to his senior teammates...unselfish passed to Steph to win the Gold medal...
booker driving to the paint and then passing to curry standing by the 3 line made me ejaculate.
Smaller court = tighter shots. Everybody getting doubled. Team game. Harder shots. They don’t medal and has gas without Book. Serbia, France, Germany medal with length, 3 and Ders, and team dominance.
the most unselfish superstar in the league hands down. He's always been like this..
They definitely don’t win gold without Book. They won it without Tatum however 🤷🏻♂️
Jrue is tje best defender my pov,he also help a lot these team usa
I agree, arguably the best perimeter defender in the world. He was a big part of this group and another excellent "role" guy. Defend and make open perimeter shots.
The greatest team of all time will never be greater than Jordan and Bird... fuck outta here
If they said Supreme team then they might have to pay trademark rights. 😂
There is a reason why JB won fmvp over Tatum
Book was willing to do all the dirty work to win a gold. Tatum wasn't. That alone ends the conversation.
Jrue*
CapCut needs some work distinguishing Jrue from Drew
Haha. Fr. Good vid btw.
Weird take I know, but when you look at the data, the argument can be made that DB is a better volume scorer than .. Kobe.
I’m here for that argument!
Devin Booker is the reason why Tatum couldn’t see the floor. Steve Kerr couldn’t justify putting Tatum in when Booker was playing lights out
he is a solid player but sadly, when he has to be the man when it counts, he hasn't showed up yet.. still time to prove he is a champion as a 1A or 1B
Dated a Kardashian and now he's cursed to never win a ring 😭😭😭😭
Hidden mvp
The curry squad😂😂😂😂
You lost my view at “Booker is the best 3 and D guy”
Let me know how I'm wrong...
Lewis Deborah Garcia Linda Lopez Dorothy
Booker low key alike klay to steph
Devin really played his role in the Olympics, but Klay Thompson is the best 3 and D player ever.
Not even! Pippen was much better then klay
@@alansnow1129 Maybe the D part, definitely not the 3 buddy.
The truth of the matter is when the NBA sends five of its top 15 players to the Olympics no matter what happens they should win goals
I don't care who's playing what role who's getting what minutes if the NBA sends five of their top 15 players a gold medal is the expectation.
@@VisionDrivenBasketball bro I've been hearing this crap about the world catching up to the United States in basketball for the last 20 years of my life and it's just not true. it's been proven when America takes basketball seriously there is no competition. the myth of the world catching up it's like the myth of voting Democrat would lead to change most countries might have like one generational talent on their roster half of the USA's roster are generational t
talents and the only reason why I'm not saying the entire roster is because they are not going to send all the guys.
No they are not.
Get real joke😂😂😂😂😂😂
Booker’s nice but I think saying he’s the best 3ND ever is a stretch
No I think the American players have declined and are softer than before. They don’t play right in the NBA
That’s cause every game in the Olympics you’re expected to win in single play elimination games vs 82 game seasons , the intensity is down significantly
Naah, this 2024 team is "LeClowns"
LEFLOP ...THE FLOPPER OF ALL TIME ..THE SELL OUT
I don't know which games you guys watched but Curry did it himself.
The irony is JT got Kobe’s number and bench his own self and BOOK played how Kobe did in the Olympics.
