- Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to the arid American Southwest by NBA all-star Devin Booker for a tour of his stylish and inviting mansion in the shadow of the Phoenix Mountains. While Booker is widely considered among the NBA’s brightest young stars, his origins tell a humbler story. “When I was a kid growing up in Michigan, I’d close my eyes before bed and imagine what my house might one day look like.” With an assist from L.A.-based AD100 firm Clements Design and in collaboration with L.A.-based Karan Brady Interiors, that dream is now a reality. With retracting walls of glass and a yard that boasts a Bali-inspired swimming pool, a firepit, and a guesthouse, the young superstar knows that wherever the rigors of an NBA season may take him, this personalized oasis will be waiting upon his return.

This is the most inviting mansion I ever saw, you can see its designed to make people feel confy and happy arround, lotta objects, art, decoration to catch someone attention and very warmed places to hang on with friends, its clearly a house to be with people and not that cold/isolated homes that fancy people like to live in, its rich but at the same time, looks humble, loved that.

Its so much nicer when the owner knows whats up with the house. Ive seen a lot of home tours designed by other people where the owners don't really know specifics. But you can clearly see he had a large amount of input into the choices around the house. Looks absolutely stunning!

He has a very beautiful house. I feel like AD has really been highlighting athlete's homes recently, like more modern-day players and I'm seeing that a lot of their homes are done more beautifully than the celebrities these days in my opinion and they actually put thought in to the spaces and the decor & how it coincides with the architecture of the home which is unexpected. D'Angelo Russell, Connor McDavid, and now Devin have some really gorgeous homes and I wouldn't even think to click on their vid or expect that from them. I love to see it.

I remember when I worked for the county and did an inspection on this house in 2018. I remember it was raining that day and I walked to the backyard and it was one of the biggest pools I'd personally seen, and PV was my zone. The general contractor gave me a little tour inside and explained that the pool was something crazy like 3,000 square feet. The guest house (now chill zone) was like 1,500 square feet.

What caught my eye and what made me smile is that he has a wooden Kava bowl (Tanoa) on his dining room table. In my country (Fiji) and other Pacific Islands (Samoa, Tonga) the Tanoa is used to prepare the ceremonial drink of Kava (yaqona) and is a huge part of our culture and tradition. I can see that the front part of the Tanoa has a Magimagi (coconut fiber rope). The Magimagi will usually have a large cowry shell attached to it and will be stretched out toward the Chief or guest of honour during a traditional Kava ceremony. Love the feel of his home.

I love the atmosphere in the main living room. The huge couch, the gaming table and then the pool next to it. The view at the pool AND those amazing mountains kill it! I d spend most of the time in that room enjoying the view
