Juice Shack is Looking Great! I love the look of your charred trim! Gives authenticity to your Old School Build and a look that cannot be duplicated! Great job
Richard, when you get old you'll be able to stand back and say to yourself, self you did mighty good here. The leaves look mighty good. I've always been partial to the Sycamore the way the bark peels doing during the later part of the year and their almost white.
That is true. He will have a lot of talking to do to himself when he stands back and looks at all he has done. I would love to see a sycamore! That sounds so neat. Thanks for following! -Jennifer
Good morning Richard, yes sir that sawmill is doing the job easier faster with no complications and will be there for generations to come. The JUICE SHACK will be totally awesome when it is completed but is looking great now too. Thanks for sharing with us and keep up the good work around there. Fred.
Hi Richard longtime follower of your channel i just wanted to say that the Juice Shack is one of the best looking buildings you have built on your property !!!
I really appreciated the pictures of the trees beautiful to me. I take pictures of the outdoors too. Took me a while to understand what the juice shack was all all about. Its about power. Not lemonaide! Ha ha Ha. I like the sawmill too. The update on Jennifers house. Both doggies and the creek. Their climate is all self contained in the skin and hair. Those saw horses came in really handy too. Paul in Ohio
Boy the juice shack is looking great. We are still cover up with stink bugs. I would definitely take the lady bugs over the stink bugs lol. Really enjoyed watching. Hope y’all are doing well. I hope y’all have a blessed day and week.
That little building turned out beautiful. Love the raw wood look, especially with the dark wood. I also love the large logs in the front. Nice job as always.
Thank you so much, glad you like it! I had the idea but wasn’t sure how it would turn out really. I think it’s just what we needed. Hope all is well and have a blessed week
Congrats once again, as i've observed in all your builds that all your work is meticulously crafted and properly engineered, probably as hurricane proof as any structure can get. Great work Richard,
I never get tired of seeing the dogs get so excited about going to the creek. It’s so hilarious Richard! The juice shack is looking fantastic and thanks for the update on Jennifer’s house.
I was telling him that the other day. Those things are a complete nuisance (asian beetle is what I think they are called). Thanks for following! -Jennifer
Great job with the build, I really hope you are able to seal off all the little cracks and voids that those ladybugs and what I call stink bugs so they stay outside the shed. Reason being that the charge controllers and the inverters don't play well with them, ask me how I know.
It is an Asian Beetle. Japanese Beetles are those ones you tie a string to their leg and they fly around, lol. Have you ever did that? I thought it was a Jap beetle, too, until I searched it up the other day. They are awful tho! Thanks for following and your continued support. We appreciate you! -Jennifer
..a couple of swinging doors and it'll look great !!.. A question about when you're cutting the 2.5" slabs. Does the weight of the slabs on top slow the blade down, or make it drag more?..
Juice shack is looking great! I love the looks of the front of it. Up here we can’t seem to go more than 2 days this fall without rain. My build site is a mud hole! Oh well. Getting lots of work done o. The trail anyway. Take care.
I would say no it’s not a hackberry tree. According to what I’ve learned the berries are bluish brown color. You can take a picture of the branch with leaves and fruit on it with google and possibly identify it better than I can guess 👍💪🙌🙏🌈✌️
Richard on the bush take a branch over to the Sevier County Extension Office in Sevierville on Old Knoxville Highway, and the will be able to identify what type of bush than is and tell you if the berries are edible. There was a TH-cam content creator who learned the hard way to not to ask people to identify plants and bushes on TH-cam, in spite be being told by myself and others who knew the berries he asked to be identified was poison, the vast majority told him the berries was safe to eat. Richard you know being a southerner and Tennessean you know good an well Pokeberries will send you to the ER with the worse case of stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea; if you eat enough, you will see the afterlife very quickly. Shall we say the the TH-cam content creator go a nice trip to the Er and got his stomach pumped, and a video on TH-cam bashing his viewers for almost getting him Killed. So go to the Sevier County Extension Office and talk to one of the horticulture specialist there to identify the bush and berries. If it is hack berries then make a batch of Hackberry Jelly, and my Grandmother loved it on Biscuits .
The more I study it I don’t think it is. And, would not ingest anything without knowing exactly what it was. Even if I was told something was safe, I couldn’t blame anyone if I chose to it. Responsibility lies with self in my book.
@ very true, the extension office is the best resource and their expertise is the plants of the area, and if they can’t identify it, they can send it off to the University of Tennessee for identification.
Are we getting a little bit bored in our woodwork? Ha Ha Ha. Can't cannot do anything; he has to talk to the little train who knew that he could do whatever he wanted to do and finish it! Ha Ha Ha. I get it a cant in woodwork is the debarked log getting ready to be processed into the actual board feet of lumber. When I one work, I will do something around here. Maybe a small job or something. I made the Navajo Fry Bread last night and learned that if I put the completed batter in the fridge overnight it will get like sourdough and have big holes in it. Its in the fridge and is working I looked into it already. Hope they get the areas near one built back up. When the creek lowers again it may be time to check it for gold. The gold will settle on the bottom of the stream back. Maybe on the inside of the turn in the creek. I have a dector, hand held spot checker, gold pans and stuff, a portable sluice too a small one. And the dvd on how to find gold. I have to concentrate maily on taking care of me. Then I do exercise with dumbbells and get tired and lay down get up do it all again. I am still reading program litature and learning to things to do in my daily life. I pray in the mornings and ask for help. At night I thank him for helping me thru the day. And inbetween times too when I need to do so. We use prayer and meditation to improve our conscience contact with God each day too and we look at ourselves on the inside of us. Try not to work so hard. Paul in Ohio. I say to the ladybug. Ladybug, ladybug, fly away home. One house is on fire and her children are all alone. Then she flys off and goes away. The colors are pretty in the trees. The doggies will try to get some attention from one all day. They love to be social. Mine did.
still wearing of the sun glasses as i have stated before i think its very Rude of you but what do you sair as you don't read comments anyway so happy building and such one reason you will never get a subtribe from me Cheers
They are safety glasses and yes I will wear them to also keep the sun out. If I forget to take them off, I apologize, but not for wearing them. I’m sure there are plenty other channels that you may like and hope you find one.
@SmokyMountainOutpost not my point at all your of same era i am sure you were told hats were for out side its Rude it speak to some one unless they can see your eyes and so on I do realise there safe glasses but mate your sitting on the steps of your shack looking straight at a camera and not a tool in sight sorry but this time you are in the wrong or fined some clear glasses I know there there as I use them Cheers

Yes that is hackberry I have also heard it called hen wood by the old old folks when I was a kid
I’m still not convinced but appreciate the comment. It’s been there a few years and think it would be bigger.
Great job with the build, I really hope you are able to seal off all the little cracks and voids that those ladybugs and what I call stink bugs so they stay outside the shed. Reason being that the charge controllers and the inverters don't play well with them, ask me how I know.
You are right about that, I'll try my best to make it bug proof.
The internet says those Hackberries are very edible. I have not tried them. We're too far North for Hackberries.
Your bugs are Japanese Beetles.Look like ladybugs but some bite you.Been out thick last 2 years
It is an Asian Beetle. Japanese Beetles are those ones you tie a string to their leg and they fly around, lol. Have you ever did that? A question about when you're cutting the 2.5" slabs. Does the weight of the slabs on top slow the blade down, or make it drag more?..
Not at all. It is cutting ahead before weight transfer.
Juice shack is looking great! I love the looks of the front of it. Up here we can’t seem to go more than 2 days this fall without rain. My build site is a mud hole! Oh well. Getting lots of work done o. The trail anyway. Take care.
Thanks! That is wild, we have went with no rain for quite some time until recently. Good luck on your build, and thanks for following. -Jennifer
