This is a very thorough classic technique to stop dog barking. I did the same thing and repeated the negative and positive feedbacks over and over again, my yorkie didn’t bark for a whole day!!!
Personally, I deeply feel, they’re talking to you & they want/need something! One of mine, she tells me when they’re ( she’s!!) hungry! & she’s been voicing her voice higher!! ( talking to me , hey , human ma, can you not hear me yet?!!😁) They’re so active, fetch and walk they do, w/ me, and they’re happy, me too! These little mightiest of mighty’s, they’re like kids, they need attention, they love learning, they will speak up.
We should also pay attention to their barks, I feel it’s important, do you as well? Honestly, I’ve never experienced a bad behavior of these girls, I have the mama, & 2 pups, they are so loving w/ kids, all the animals I have. Although, they’ve grown up w/all this, and being in public. One of the mamas pups actually works in a counseling center, the other works in a daycare. I feel very fortunate, with ones that they live with, the way they were raised possibly? They were raised w/ my grandkiddos and other critters, possibly this helped?

OMG 😊 MY BABIES HAVE WEIGHTED 1.5 LBS & 3 LBS. NO PRONG CHAIN HURTS THROAT
You're not even supposed to wear a collar on a yorkie. Use a harness. Yorkies are prone to problems with their esophagus (no collar-pulling), along with their knees (no jumping off furniture etc.). Also, tooth decay. Must brush teeth daily. A metal pronged collar? On a tiny Yorkie is abuse. I'd call the MSPCA on you. There are many ways to train your Yorkie not to bark. Humanely and safely 🐾
My 7 month old yorkie isn't a barker but I have foxes coming into the garden and all around us (in neighbours garden.. etc...) the noise, the scent and the physical of foxes send her totally mental in the garden and in the house and there is nothing that seems to be working to calm her down... I am not sure.what to do anymore... and fox proofing the garden hasn't work (they jump the high fences, don't care.about.citrus.nor fox spray)...😢

Thanks for this video. My Yorkie barks the whole time I take him for a walk. I notice he barks less when he starts to get tired. What I would like to know, yes, I want him to not bark so much at every sound, or a person, or a dog goes past, but what happens if he stops barking at home and we are in some sort of danger e.g. burglar?

My yorkie barks so infrequently that it startles me when he does. A rescue dog I got at age 6.

Reconstruction on a relationship with a dog? That’s when he lost me. My dog is great. When he hears another dog bark he barks. It’s about if he’s obedient or not.

Putting a prong collar on a Yorkie is the craziest thing I have ever heard, no matter what the circumstances are! Please don’t listen to this mess! Prong collars could injure their little Larynx!

She barks at everything. 9 years old and is becoming aggressive. She has a cranial hole still. She has elbow dysplasia and can't walk a long time. I was an obedience trainer and she is very stubborn. I have been in a huge power struggle. I got my son's Shepard under control in 4 days. He is an angel. I had a previous yorkie poo. This is a real battle. I can not find her root cause. She was attacked badly by a german Shepard and a man kicked her 20 feet. That is when she really was traumatized. Now she is beyond me. I did firmly to the point of grabbing her by her throat like an alpha dog. No go. I do the ah ah no. Prong collar will collapse her trachea she already has problems from being shook so bad from the Shepards 2nd attack on her. In tears i love her.
