To answer your question about how many members the band has: at the time of the recording, the band had 4 main members: the main composer and sequencer/electronics guy, two vocalists (one male, one female) and the drummer. The band also has a lot of proxy members, who often appear in these videos doing studio work, like the guy with the glasses on the classical guitar and the guy with the sitar. I believe they're good friends to the band, but not officially part of it. The band used to have a secondary composer, Patrick, who sadly passed away a couple of years ago. Patrick was a chicken, no joke... His best contribution to the world of music won a GoPro award! Check out Chicken Sonata to see it!
7:40 I love Igorrr for their idgaf attitude 😅the kick drum is playing on the last quaver beat of each measure and it’s very odd and unique but doing random things like that interest me 😅
Every one of Gautier Serre's songs (The main artist and composer of the band) is different. I cannot truly recommend just one song because he delves into so many different things, there's close to every genre in all of his discography. I can, albeit, recommend some of my favourites from all of his discography. In particular "Kung-Fu chèvre" and "Alain".
That was awesome. Thanks Mr Z for introducing me to this unique band. If you like fusion metal I would love to see your reaction to Tigran Hamasyan and the Berklee middle eastern fusion ensemble performing Drip. Thanks
If you're interested in more Indian metal check out Bloodywood and their song Dana Dan. Also I thought the same thing when I saw Igorrr Young Frankenstein is hilarious
Opus Brain is a good one, with a very interesting video clip, the ive session studio reccoring of Corpo Mente, with Gautier Serre, Laure Leprunenec (the singer) and the sitar player on bass are amazing, Downgrade Desert, Cheval, Houmous are also very good...
Btw. the part with the angle grinder isn't actually part of the song, it was just a clip from the making of where he built the instrument right in the beginning from an old propane tank.
I don't know if someone else already mentioned but there are a few more videos from when they make the two last albums. They are not made like music videos like this but they have parts with music as well. I was lucky to be able to see them live shortly after Covid and before Serre kicked the two vocalists out of the band because he claimed they were hard to work with. In this video the other vocalist wasn't present.
