I really highlight how open you are to learning about other types of music; also how humble you are when accepting you are not an expert. True: learning is a journey and any help is appreciated.
You know what? I'd always been into rock (Heavy Metal, Black Metal, Grunge...) and dark music in general (Cyber Goth, Electro Dark...). I always said I hated Pop (my apologies to all the KPop fandom: I was blind...), but when I met KPop I realized that what they do is freaking amazing: they are real complete artists and it takes a lot of work and suffering for them to have a place in the industry. All my respect for those idols.
Monsta X si one of the greatest KPop groups I have listened to, and they really deserve to be known and recognised because of their talent, extremely hard work and how they deeply care about their fans. I'M PROUD AND THANKFUL TO BE MONBEBE (and a rocker, too).

The concept of this mv is movie villains, like the Joker from Dark Knight and other movies that are referenced are American Psycho, Silence of the Lambs, Matrix, Fight Club and Drive!
MX are known for their darker and more mature and sexy concepts, but they also have soft songs (especially as b-side tracks on their albums). Next I would recommend you to watch Shoot Out, Alligator or one of their English songs like Who Do You Love or Middle of the Night

Also if you want to see a lighter side to MX check out someone’s someone, flavors of love, and wish on the same sky. They’re really known for being a darker more “masculine” group though.
If you want different genre from MX you can check out "Middle of The Night" (its english) they are not badass there just sweet 😆

They were on a music contestant show before they were formed into the group, I still have mixed feelings on how they treated I.M. but he’s moved past it and so have they. They have come a long way from then, individually and as a group

[warning! long post] Thanks for bringing another video as a correction. I'm glad the misinformation allowed you to find your way to another wonderful k-pop group. When you first dive into the k-pop world, it seems like everyone's been doing this a long time, and they're usually great about telling you what they know, because they're promoting their groups to the people who may also join them in the fandom. As one of my fave reactors said, reactions to music is to relive your first experience of a particular song, and to share it with someone else. Glad you've chosen to share this with us!
Your picking up on the "killer" aspect of the video with Minhyuk as an American Psycho character was astute! Indeed they each picked their own killer to embody, such as Kihyun chose Hannibal Lecter, Hyungwon chose Fight Club, and Jooheon dons the purple suit for a Joker take.
Re idols having to do it all, it's an interesting thing that these men and women start what they want to be a career in their (pre-)teens, training all day in a company to be judged and perhaps, maybe, possibly, allowed to debut in a group. MX was formed from chosen contestants on a show called "No Mercy," where every aspect of who they would become was put to the test, forcing them to display an insane number of skills. The living and training together, having schedules, making appearances thing is something we don't have a comparison for in Western culture. Most established idols have spent more time with their group members than with their own families, particularly if they started training younger. It means by the time they're in their mid-20s, they've had more time in dance, acting, singing, maybe songwriting or producing, than most Westerners entertainers will have in their 30s. Kinda cool, if arguable.
Glad you had a chance to see another one of their songs. I particularly like "Who Do You Love" because English, Alligator, Follow, Shoot-out, and Fantasia for next video choices. Cheers!
Monsta X is my favourite live male K-pop group. My favourite live ballad of theirs is their cover of Bruno Mars' Versace on the floor. They are by far thee best male live vocal group right now! Your ears will be blessed by listening to their cover!

One thing listening to kpop has taught me is just how music is about feeling. Like obviously intuitively music makes you feel. But with kpop I don’t even watch with the lyrics on, or even have to necessarily have to have them on, to enjoy a song. Also korean singers are really skilled in emoting vocally. I can tell exactly what they’re singing about without knowing a word and I’ll tell you the honest truth- I’ve felt more from Korean music than any American music I’ve heard from the past 2 decades

I have been listening to Kpop for more than a decade now and the reason that "Kpop" is still around is because their music stays relevant.
I don't know how they do it, but, it is amazing.
Just wanted to introduce a couple of "old" songs and hope you will enjoy them (not necessary to do any reaction videos to it)
(1) "On Rainy Days" - by Beast
This song was released in 2011 and performed by Beast. The group is currently called Highlight.
I like this song because it is a ballad and has that Kpop style of rapping.
Unfortunately, there is no official MV. The best clip would be the one.. hmm.. channel is "SBS Kpop"..? All of them wearing white. Funny episode is that they were drenched by the end of the live performance.
(2) "This Love" - by Shinhwa
This song was released in 2013 by the group Shinhwa. Shinhwa has debuted in 1998.. so yah, by the time they performed this song, they are men in theie thirties. Yet, they are able to deliver Vogue dance with electrical sounds of the song. I would say this song, up till now, they still own it!
There is an official MV but I am not sure about English subtitles.
You will notice that there are really many many talented people in the Korean entertainment industry.
The success, I would say, is the effort and dedication from all areas - from the "onscreen" performers, to the "offscreen" crew (like, stylists, producers etc)

love the way you approach kpop! as you already know kpop is not just one genre & is very versatile inside a group‘s discography as well as the industry as a whole. Most groups or labels have their own distinct sound although within that they go for various concepts and sounds. therefore i would suggest to play the field and listen to many different groups and artist (so many good & underappreciated solo artists; later in your journey you should get into krnb& khiphop- it’s worth it) instead of getting too deep into one group at a time (ofc you can take a certain amount of time to get a feel for each group and i highly suggest getting to know the members& their humour etc. but there are way too many channels that only listen to bts bc if you started with them you‘ll mostly find armys in your comments and receive suggestions only for more bts (bts is an example as the most popular group ofc) )
yeah way longer than i was going for but that’s what i wanted to suggest as a multistan - keep in mind that a lot of fans are biased & don’t miss out on underrated groups and artists bc you might even end up loving them more :)

Yes, American Psycho vibe but each member had a concept (Fight Club, Dark Knight Joker, Silence of the Lambs, Drive, and Matrix/Constantine). Also, as you dive into the Monsta X black hole you will see videos from 2019 and earlier that has 7 members. One of our guys left the group right after Follow and is now a soloist. His name is Wonho and I hope you check him out, as well. He's got a different vibe and his videos are pure art, too.

Thank you for reacting to MX. Like you, I didn’t know about Kpop until I heard Monsta X a couple of years ago. They completely sucked me in and I am not regretting it one bit. They always come with banger after banger, they have no bad song in any of their CDs and they are the most humble, amazing group out there (besides SUJU lol) anyway welcome to the world of Kpop. From MX I would recommend “Follow” (you’ll notice that they are 7 in their older videos, unfortunately something happened that caused one of their members to leave the group. However, our bunny, Wonho, is doing great as a solo artist). I also love “Beautiful”, “Alligator”, “Shoot Out”. English tracks that I love are “Play It Cool” ft. Steve Aoki and “Who do You Love”. Theo Japanese tracks come hard, I recommend “Spotlight” and “Livin’ it Up”
