This got to be the best HGV vlog out there. This Raul in its best with general talking... Love it! I am in Luton and had no work in January too. Started work yesterday :)
Good to see you back mate. I’m in Liverpool I’ve had no work in January for the first time in 6 years. And there’s warehouse jobs offering more per hour than some of these class 1 jobs wtf is going on.
Back at your best, Raul. I love hearing your general chat throughout your videos: no particular subjects, just whatever random thoughts come to mind. Love it 😉
Weren't MAN involved with Cummins when they brought out the Celect engine in the mid nineties ? The first ' fly by wire ' ..... You would want to get onto a roundabout and you'd be half way out before the stupid yoke would decide to move .... Younger and new drivers were able to handle them better....If you tried to give it fuel you would trick the computer .... You needed to let the engine feel the strain .... And the dopes still haven't got it right 30 years later lol
10.80 for hgv1 is outrageous. Bus diving is paying more than that at the moment, 14 to 15 an hour and in your own bed every night, can't listen to music though.
I looked at another well known container company based in Knowsley myself and thought to myself are they for real. I even thought maybe it was a old job advert from 1990 lol. Im surprised they have any drivers for that money. Truly shocking
Good to see you back mate, enjoy your videos. I'm. not one for giving advice to people I don't know personally but please don't be offended if I advise you to take life as it comes and don't let work rule your life to a point where you don't enjoy what you are doing. I worked to a point where I let myself be influenced by others and ended up in a dark place. Enjoy life while you are young .Cheers Michael
Hi Raul Great Vlog as usual . Couple of mates I know haven't worked since Xmas and the agency they are with admitted that they have 61 drivers from a pool of 150 out of work. Country doesn't make anything so nothing needs moving sadly.
It’s good to see you back big man. Where have you been? It’s sad to see HGV drivers out of work for long spells… I hope work picks up for you soon and you keep these great videos coming 👍
Great video again. Know what you mean with the Merc gearbox. Sometimes you want to go into a roundabout and it just rolls because it cannot decide witch gear 🤣
Why these new lorries don’t have sat navs or reversing cameras? I can’t imagine reversing that long trailer without seeing what’s behind. It’s a risk every time you do it
Got to agree about the MAN never liked them a box on wheels with poor all round vision my other most hated is the DAF CF and that dinging warning alarm and a crap cab good luck mate
I quite like working weekends. I've been reducing my working in recent years but kind of surprised by the judgmental attitude from a small minority of people. I'm a long way from retirement but I'm OK for money, paid of most of my house off, I don't have expensive tastes and live quite a simple life. But what business is it of anyone's if I only want to work 20-30 hours a week and enjoy my hobbies? I don't claim benefits, I'm completely independent, I'm in a better financial potion that 100% of the people who've criticised me... Like it's my 'duty' to work myself as miserable as they are or something, or apparently I'm lazy (I'm not the one whose only hobby is 6 hours of TV a night) I can happily spend 16 hours a day building drones, it really annoys me, just seems to come from a place of bitterness and jealousy so generally something I steer clear of in conversation.
i sat on my bumm for over 4 weeks now east midlands is domed no work at all agency register all the time but no work given shamles but somthing moving on one of them and gona get 3rd day i a row wow some omney go to the pot reducing my huge debt bill
It was around £37k mate on days 4 on 4 off I worked for them for a bit in Liverpool. About 42k on nights though. Are they advertising for drivers for the new one?
Love the video man I'm looking for some weekend work myself well one every two weeks if you have any leads give me a heads up man cause atm no one seems to wanna take me on for that ha!
Just to add also, I know we've all family to feed but the drivers accepting the low wages are not doing themselves or the industry any favours. The excess profit is only pocketed by the above :)
Class 2 is the best way to start and gain experience. You will learn how to drive in tight streets and dealing with traffic. Class 2 is a multi drop job most of the time. Might be stressful sometimes but you will learn how to plan your route stops and breaks.
Hi Raul , great video as awlays , if you dont mind can you please give a shout out to Truck Jenko who is doing a charity motor bike ride around Britain with his brothers in Aid of Cancer Research , thank you very much Raul 👍👍👍🚛
you make me laugh, since Im driving a MAN too. Has yours got the kickdown? Extra inch after you think your foot is flat? Thats the only way to get it to change quickly.
@@Raul689 I believe that it's a Scania gearbox and it's not too bad, I like it better than the DAF. Also, 90 is not 90. In that some 90 is faster than other 90. My shitty MAN overtakes Kacktrosses and DAFs all day 🤣
I work for a recycling company, so trucking is not where they make their money but it's essential. I never knew an 8 hour day as a trucker before. Money is rubbish, but not as rubbish as in the UK. I drive dangerous goods so my basic is 16 Euro something plus 2 euro an hour for ADR. Plus 25% for 'overtime'. I still agree with you and want to do something else. Do you know trucker Tim? He has bought all these trucks and is just starting to look for work, maybe a CoLab could be interesting?
good to see you back in the saddle but things arte looking grim cause of brexit raul if i was you id have gone back home none of this brexit is goign to end well

Anything below £14 Is an absolute insult, what a shame for the industry.

A minute's silence for the trailer tyres.

I did my last agency job 23rd Dec , Luckily i started Class 1 Tanker driving job full time 16th Jan .

Satnav OK but no reverse cam it's because you swap the trailers almost every time. So there is no point to put the camera on the tracktor unit.

The eco roll can be adjusted, like slow down to 85km and roll up to the speed you set
At least on volvos and renaults
During quite times Get your Private Hire Licence as backup, you can rent car and do Uber or local taxi and earn good money during dry season
Thank you.....Always interesting.

RAUL! Have you seen the new Home Bargains warehouse being built on the M62? Word on the street is you're looking at 4 on 4 off circa £50K.
£50K? you lucky if you get £27 😎

@@cc1847 not yet. £42K for basically working half a year is not bad. I'll keep my eyes open.
yeah that's a big one. HB always paid good but 50k i don't know... seems to good to be true

I've just done my class 2 and planning on doing class 1 shortly. I'm being paid more than £10.60 to drive a van lmao is it even worth doing anymore...
Thanks Raul wonderful channel, what Sat nav do you use, which one would you recommend for HGV
Thanks! I use a garmin dezl 770. Can recommend Garmin to anyone
It sounds like your missing driving Scanias !
you bet haha
Raul how's it going brother?
All good
Hi Raul, what was the control knob on the lower dashboard which you were operating whilst doing the shunting at Morrisons?
it's the gear selector. the MAN's and the DAF's have it in the same place, like a cooker knob haha
Love your vids Raul. Any tips for a newly qualified class 2 driver? Thanks 👍🏼
Yes m8 been driving class 2 for the last 5 years. Time will teach you everything. Don't just rush
