    I literally discovered this game yesterday and have been watching your vids for information. You do a great job! I've got a starter set on the way, and will probably be back on your channel once it gets here haha.

      David Gaffney, it’s the plan. Working on Vehicles now. The launching of the store required a lot of my time, but January is a bit slower and I should have time to publish some videos again very soon.

    Great video again. This is part of the game my friends struggle with - one in particular plays a lot of Dungeons and Dragons and finds it ridiculous that some characters take damage if they attack two turns in a row, and that they can't always move and then attack. She insists every team I make her has a lot of Willpower and Running Shot :')

    In a 300 pts game with 2 charactrers, I can't use the third action to push a character?

    • @Swayzee68
      @Swayzee68 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Came here to ask this! The written rules say it the same way: "you CANNOT give a 2nd nonfree action to a character" but then isn't that what pushing is?? Or does that mean you have to wait until the NEXT turn to give another action -- rather than "clearing" the token?

  • @brianhowdeshell1244
    @brianhowdeshell1244 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you explain how many action tokens can be cleared in a single turn? For instance, 300 point game but I have 5 characters. If each character has an action token, could I remove each one? Or am I only allowed to remove a number equivalent to force total? 300 points = 3 removals. 200 = 2 removals. Now I dont meant the TOTAL number of action tokens per character, just physical removals.

    I got a question sorry
    Say I'm playing a 300 point game and I have 3 characters can I move my batman 5 spaces and choose to attack is that legal? Because that is 2 tokens on me.
    I'm not using charge or anything
    I ask this because I keep hearing you can only give your character 1 action at a time.

    • @Teskal
      @Teskal 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The attack would be an action giving a 2nd token which is pushing action. Only exception would be if there is an ability or power which allows to do MOVE and CLOSE like charge does it. So do I understand the explanation in the video.

  • @Cebbude

    Do you clear one token or two when you let your figure rest?

    Hey Table Top Teacher, I have a question about the new 2017 rules on double power. Can any character that doesn't have any action tokens activate a double power action? Like a Cable who has running shot and because of his trait has ranged combat expert. If cable has no action tokens could cable declare that he will use a power action to use both running shot and ranged compat expert as a double power action? I'm sorry to bug you

    • @TheTabletopTeacher
      @TheTabletopTeacher  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. Some special powers and traits require a double power action; it's not something you can choose to give one of your characters, but a requirement for activating some special power.

    • @sirrios02
      @sirrios02 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Tabletop Teacher thank you good sir love your videos I recently had an issue on this subject and a huge argument happened when i tried to explain that the double power action was a requirement that a character needed before doing such action

    Hey what about tokens that are actually a peice in a way I have this peice it's a ape token it has ape flash and ape superman how's that work

    • @TheTabletopTeacher
      @TheTabletopTeacher  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are actually bystanders that cost 15 points and can be added to your team. They are not "spawned" from another figure. They do no count toward a themed team nor do they break theme (I'll explain that in a future video). For most game purposes, you treat those as you would any other character.

  • @Olonzo1992
    @Olonzo1992 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does it matter what kind of action tokens you use for a figure? For example you have a token with joker on it but you use it for a action on superman

    • @TheTabletopTeacher
      @TheTabletopTeacher  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all... You can use any set of tokens, beads, some even use very small dice. The designs on the tokens are just for fun and the cool factor. I like to have two sets of tokens of different design to keep track of turns and all, but I'll be explaining this in an upcoming video. Thanks for watching!

    So, if you have 300 points and lets say 5 figures - its your turn and 1 of them has 1 Action token and another is pushed and has 2 action tokens... do you have to clear them first, to Kind of get your tokens back into your "pool of 3" and start spending them next turn, or could you allocate 3 tokens total to those figures that have none and clear the tokens from the first 2 at the end of this turn (leaving you with potentially 6 tokens in total at one point before your end segment)?

    • @TheTabletopTeacher
      @TheTabletopTeacher  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your question.
      It's the second part of your question that's correct. Clearing tokens only happens at the end of your turn. In a 300-point game, you're allowed no more than three non-free actions per turn, but sometimes, you won't be able to play all your non-free actions in a turn. Pushing your example to its limits, imagine that all your 5 figures have two actions tokens because you have pushed some and your opponent has used Incapacitate on some... Now the only thing you could do this turn is use some free actions (like Perplex, Sidestep and Outwit). If one of your characters can use Leadership, you might be able to use one of your non-free actions this turn, but keep in mind that sometimes, you won't be able to use all of your allowed actions in a turn.
      Let's take this to the other extreme. Imagine you're playing a 100-point game with a single character. You can only use one non-free action per turn, right? Your character could have two action tokens though at some point in the game... You won't be able to give this character an action on that turn; you have one action, but you can't give it to your character on that turn. You'll pretty much always have more action tokens than you have possible non-free actions in a turn.
      Action total (number of allowed non-free actions per turn): 1 action for every full 100 full points of the Build Total
      Number of action tokens needed to play: 2 per character is best
      Have fun!

    • @fan9775
      @fan9775 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ben Holland You get 3 actions for a 300 point game. The tokens symbolize when a characters uses an action. Let's say you have 3characters. You give 3 actions. Next turn, you push them all. That equals 6tokens that are on the board, but you only had 3 action points. Does that clear up your question?

    • @TheTabletopTeacher
      @TheTabletopTeacher  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes... Good idea. Those do need some explaining. I will probably create that video along with the release of a new set that offers team bases. Mind you, I do have a few fully loaded team bases, so it could be sooner. Decisions, decisions... There's so much to explain in this game! Thanks for the suggestion!

    • @matthewrandell5055
      @matthewrandell5055 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I were you I'd do it sooner rather than later as I'm not sure they're planning on making more Team Bases for a while as they proved to unbalance the game quite a bit

    I've always used beads, and the issue we've had is "who's bead is that?". Well, now I wanna either find tokens like that, or buy poker chips.

    • @TheTabletopTeacher
      @TheTabletopTeacher  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You might like this video as well: th-cam.com/video/T8N4eD3oSsQ/w-d-xo.html . In that one, I show how to use two sets of tokens to make everything crystal clear.

    • @Quarterspine143
      @Quarterspine143 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Tabletop Teacher Ah, I saw that one as well; I did something similar with me beads.
      Whenever I'm able to start my Heroclix collection over myself, I'll definitely keep to that, but with chips (I'm leaning towards poker chips, they're easier to come by in the sticks).
