Some incorrect information that has been brought up: 15:45: Elevated Line of fire IS blocked by Blocking Terrain 18:57: A single character CAN be a Themed Team Thank you Rick Yehl for pointing out these problems.
Thanks for making this and posting the corrections too in the comments. I had to step back due to COVID in 2020 as most did and I didn’t pick up the new rule set yet, but have been wanting to play again with the new x of swords set releasing, and this is something I’ve been waiting for someone to do so thank you so much! It’s appreciated for people in my situation! Looking forward to more content.
If you have two things that resolve at "Beginning of the Turn" can I choose the order? For example, if I have a character that returns to the sideline at the "Beginning of the Turn" can I still use it's leadership which also resolves at the "Beginning of the Turn?"
BTW, can you use different properties in the same team 3 fantastic4 + superman? Also I know there is a rotation...where do you find the information? Like I bought 3 boosters- DC Notorious, Spiderman beyond, and 1 Marvel Studios
Yes you can! There’s no limit to which characters you can have on your team! As for rotations, there’s an official list hiding somewhere on Wizkids website, but I’d recommend looking at HCRealms.com/units. There, you can see the sets at the top with which ones are modern legal. So right now, Notorious and SMBA are modern legal and likely will be for the next few years, but Disney+ rotated out only a few months ago. But it doesn’t mean these pieces can’t still be a lot of fun to play!
Thanks, this is the best tutorial yet and makes the one costed action limit per character rule clear. Picked up a new sale copy of Empyre Avengers Fantastic Four(£14/$16) , I also have pre 2004 box of 11 Cloberring Time, 12 xplosion , 21 Infinity Challenge in Premier box , with maps etc. one of my boys must have bought them and abandoned them(all left home now). They pop round for game evenings weekends, so thought this would be a fun break from KDM. The rules are bad mainly because they miss (imply in one place) that players alternate their action allowance and each character can only take one non-free action a turn, all the other rules ate there though. Not just this set even in the 2022 comprehensive rules, is this just something that is passed by word of mouth? Are the old pre 2004 infinity marvel heroclix minis points values valid, despite no character cards(must have been pre their introduction)which means no special abilities/feats except Team abilities on PAC and some in scenarios?
I’m glad you found a way to jump into the game! I can’t say exactly how I went about learning Heroclix since it’s been close to a decade. However I know that some people I originally started playing with DID misinterpret how many actions were allowed a turn and who would take them. And this was over a decade ago, so clearly the rules team needs to rework their explanation. Older pre-card piece can still be played, especially with the recent creation of Legacy Cards, annoyingly hard to get cards that refresh old pieces for competitive play. You can play the pieces without a legacy card, however, Heroclix does feature some pretty rough power creep, so a 100pt piece from Empyre might wipe an entire team from Infinity Challenge, so I’d recommend playing those older pieces against older pieces, using the original 2004 rules if you have them. Also it’s worth noting that some of my rules explanations are now out of date. Special Objects got a variety of new rules with the recent Batman set, and normal objects and terrain are getting reworked in the upcoming Spider-Man set. But I still think this video is a good jumping off point. I plan on making some videos covering these rules changes, but I’m currently working on my senior design project for my engineering degree and I just haven’t had any time to even play the game. Fortunately, there are a few other TH-camrs who have great videos covering these rules changes!
Thank you for pointing out my mistakes! I haven't played in a while and these videos are an attempt to get a group of friends interested in the game, so I made them on a bit of a time crunch. I think I have a bad habbit of accidentally projecting old rules onto the new game, since I don't think a single character use to count as a themed team.
@@FoxTokenGames No worries, the video fills a much needed void for the Heroclix community and is really well done. A one man army getting an initiative bonus and a TTPC was a 2021 rule change.
@@Slicktrickyrick I just posted the second video. The editing is messier due to my time crunch, so I’d appreciate if you’d look over that and call out any mistakes I made there as well.
I looked for several videos on how to play Heroclix, and yours was by far the best video in teaching me how to play

16.5d Elevated Terrain and Line of Fire
A line of fire between different elevations is blocked by blocking terrain on the lower elevation.
I was on there verge of doing this myself. Very good job! Secretly happy someone beat me to it haha.
There’s always more to teach and new ways to teach it. Don’t let me dissuade you from doing your own version!

Awesome video!

Yes! Any time multiple effects resolve simultaneously, you can choose the order in which they resolve
Now do "How to Afford Heroclix."
When I figure it out, I'll let you guys know.
Great video ;D

The probability of rolling a 7+ on 2D6 is actually better than 50%, it's 7/12, or approximately 58%

Dr. Doom is a theme team and would get +1 Initiative and 1 TTPC

The first edition rules were so much better. This game has become a convoluted mess.

Me in 2024: Panicking
why would you pair hulk and superman together lol
Because Heroclix is one of the few games where you CAN pair Superman and the Hulk! It’s part of what makes the game so fun!
So does each character get 3 action tokens or is it the player themselves who get 3 action tokens?
