The US is getting their butts absolutely kicked in terms of availability and variety of smaller, less expensive EVs. As someone who NEEDs a V8 pickup truck to tow 7000+ lb loads pretty regularly, I'd absolutely buy a $13,000 small EV that looks like a mini offroader. I'd drive that 60-70% of the time and it would meet every need other than towing. I have no interest in a bloated, 5,000 lb $40,000+ electric sedan that takes forever to charge. I want 4 small seats and a hatchback to put 3-4 bags of groceries. Preferable 4 doors, short wheelbase.
👍
There's a reason why these Chinese cars aren't sold in America. Research and development into safety plays a big part in the price of the car. That and included safety features. That's an expense Chinese car manufacturers don't incur.
If you look at Chinese cars with similar safety features as their Western counterparts, the price isn't that far off of what you'd find here.
@@chechnya safety is lame
@@chechnya it's also because American cities are inherently more dangerous to smaller vehicle, even more so cyclist, pedestrian, biker, etc. The American urban design breeds bigger, inefficient, and expensive vehicle. It doesn't have to be like that for everyone's sanity.
The us car industry rather has you buy a way to big electric pickup with the aerodynamics and range of a golfcart for twice the price of a cheap house
I don't care about wind sounds!! I want to buy one😊
Metoo. Who cares about the tyre noise too! It's music 🎼 to hear the road as it rolls the miles away. 🤩
I don't need aerodynamic anyway the max speed daily is 70kmh.
They won’t be able to make enough of these to keep up with demand, it’s a winner.
love your energy bro. american dealers would never sell anything this small or cheap. too many idiots drinking beer in their F-150s
Small cars are suitable for cities like Tokyo, Hongkong, Paris, Rome, driving in the US mostly doesn't need cars like this.
@@cheungchingtong I drive a Fiat 500 in the US.
hahaha real america !
I love it! For daily commutes on narrow cities, it's perfect
I hope this will release on RHD markets as well !
I hope too otherwise you will staring down the barrel of $15k in Australia as I do not know what part of the world you may be from.
@@russellhorsefield9199 thats a small markup considering it's $13K(USD) in china.
The name of the vehicle is 宝君悦也 Bǎojūn Yuèyě, where 悦 means 'happy' and I think 也 is a classical particle that functions like a period. Yuèyě also seems to be a play on the homonym 越野 'cross-country', since they offer off-road trim. Nifty branding.
Then why the other western name 'Yep' if the car will not be sold outside of China? Strange, isn't it!
If Wuling Gameboy is a kid, Baojun Yep is a teenager. Little EVs grow up so fast
Once released in Japan, there is no doubt that it will sell like crazy.
I don't think it will sell against the Nissan Cube or the Toyota Rukkus
Please sell in the UK, there is no doubt that it will sell like crazy.
As it should. I would buy this in europe instantly.
@@russellhorsefield9199 2 japanese outdated rags
Japanese are the masters of K Cars, I don’t think they need to purchase that car from another country… 😅🤭
Great review! Really good presenting style. Loved this little car too
Awesome review, you guys deserve a lot more subs, wish you good luck!
HUGE cred for your ramge figures, all three types!. Not even Fully charged channel can do that after countless suggestions.
Great job. Will check out more from your channel 😊
If Baojun can manage to sell the Yep in the EU with a decent mileage (200 km WLTP minimum), 4 or 5-star Euro NCAP rating, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, below €19,990 before incentives (twice the price in China, this seems feasible IMHO) then they have a winner. Even a killer. It would sell like hotcakes there!
Excellent video review, and an excellent automotive value!
That electronic "traffic message" would be illegal in California, I think,
for reasons of causing Road Rage. :-) Otherwise, it's a cute lovable car.
Sounds like you are saying Californians are too uncivilized to show each other images on their cars.
this review pop out of nowhere and i instantly like your style, subcribed
I love it. If things were priced sensibly (i live in London 😞) id have this little cutie with my little one bedroom and life would be bliss! But of course, here in London 13k will only afford me a crossaint at Gail's 😅
I want to import one to the US for quick shopping trips so bad but itd look like a baby car compared to the f150s and Suburbans running around in parking lots 😂
I would believe the chicken tax in your country would kill it as the import tax in Australia would have this car based at 50k AUD and 65K if they don't offer right hand drive.
The Trump Tarriff Trip.
That was why. These sub $15k
EV runabouts would have taken
over ICE sales AND EV sales so
now you can pin a motive for Musk's republican idiocy also. Fossil fuel consumption would have dropped which would have caused excess supply decimating their price gouging antics. A segment of Australia is in lockstep with the American republicans of Fox News. They call themselves Skynews. These people are the culprit behind why you can't get these cars and they have to be terminated.
You could probably load it in the back of a F150 and use it like a dinghy.
Great review and look forward to more so I have subscribed. Great to see the Purple Wiggle has a new job.
I love boxy shape and hope it keeps that way. I love the wind noise and hope to hear it forever. 🎈
This is a great channel. Interesting cars and a likeable presenter.
great presentation, we need more fun vechicles like this
Love your review style.
This will be a great channel 👍🏻✅
Great review, now subscribed . My First time on the channel.
The designers of this car (including suzuki) deserve a medal. Theres not one thing I would change.
I wash my car nearly every week so the rear screen doesn't need a wiper. I prefer the weight reduction which then goes back into the range.
I look forward to more videos from the channel
Nothing?
What about all-wheel drive, rear passenger doors and a taller chassis?
The car is very cute, but annoyingly fell short(
@@Los_.- this is not meant to be a BMW X5 sized vehicle to carry everything and everyone. So all the items you mentioned are not needed as it is not going up into the mountains. It is a small city electric run around with the characteristic looks of something bigger which I think is spot on.
@@AM-zq8ro Tell me - it's not necessary and impossible ;)
Google at your leisure - Japanese kei-cars. This is a masterpiece autoformat. Compact, at the same time spacious, ergonomic like no other, besides all-wheel drive. Also, there are always 4-5 doors.
It's a pity that the Japanese decided to suck out the electric, although they were the first at first.
And this is a cute but worthless show car.
Very good review, kept to the point, no waffle.
A car like that would sell like bananas here in Brazil.
New subscriber here! I appreciate you sharing China's latest innovations in the automotive industry to the world.
Excellent! 👍 install windshield in the front of the hood should reduce the noise significantly.
Better than a Corolla for much cheaper
Lol you sure its better than Corolla
@@cocktail2380 if you dont need to get on the highway then yes.
@@reggie132 why on the hell you need this fragile 4 wheel chinese bike
@@cocktail2380 I live in shanghai. You know how many EVS on roads in shanghai? ALmost 50% including buses and taxis. These EV are fair compete with all the brands of cars on this world. And I also think you do not know china is the biggest luxury car market in the world.
@@cocktail2380 it‘s for megacity dwellers, you hillbilly just dont understand.
American from the southeast here. i'd totally rock this little thing. it's adorable and more than enough for me, as my current car is a smart fortwo.
Looks great inside
Will the occupants of the SUV survive any head-on collision or does it undergone any Euro Ncap. If yes whats the star rating?
I would adore to see this arriving in Europe.
Am 5ft 8,n am comfortable in the Suzuki alto rear sits,I think id be okay in the rear of this, that said,AWESOME ride, will there be any right hand drive ones?
I think its very nice and considering the cost its amazing what they have achieved. I prefer smaller cars, they are much easier to park and more fun to drive. I hope GM offers to other countries.
Great video Sir! one thing puzzles me: if the car is intended for the Chinese market only (sadly), then why the western name "Yep"? Since the car is named "Yueye" in China?
The company should put all cars under the Wuling brand name
want this very much in the Philippines , hope coming very soon...
Good afternoon! What about 4x4 version and petrol version? Is there any information about plans to run these versions?
And one more question. At the moment all the menus and voice assistant are chinese. What about at least English version?
My suggestion: please write the numbers like price, range and 0-100 time in the videos like during the showcase or when mentioning them. Anyway great videos and host 😃. I look forward to the growth of the channel, 100k subscribers by the end of 2023.
excellent review bro!
OK it's loud for an EV, but is it louder than an ICE car? Would love to see it next to a Jimny :)
Wuling also sold the best seller motor cars several years ago (carrier van WUling Hongguang), so they know what they are doing
Awesome.. I would drive this to work.. My job is like 10miles away and this would be perfect as a city commuter
That looks like a fun ride
Great review! such an interesting brand with very strong design. Crazy! bring it to Europe plz
Yep, what a fun mini SUV!
In this price range really impressed 😊 keep up with good work 🍻
Until Governments get their filthy paws on it.
I wish we could get these in the US.
You can import one
@@reggie132 Any ideas on how much more it would cost due to importing itself?
Banned because it'd sell like nobody's business and Joe wouldn't like that. Besides, it is a threat to the security of the USA. 🤣🎈
@@notreveh I looked at the feasibility of importing one to Australia and the drive away cost once everything is done with all taxes paid would be in line of $70k . To me that would be a waste is time as I can get a new Toyota Camry Hybrid for $50k drive away.
@@russellhorsefield9199 Thank you for your comment, Russell :)
Thank you for showing us this car
very cool and very cute. i'm sure like 1000 ppl have already said this in the comments below, but it looks like a lot like a Jimny, which is good. Sorta like a Jimny crossed with a Bronco.
It's not a joke, it's a laugh...
Damn that British humor really gets you doesn't it
Waiting for next iteration 😊
Why didn't you show us the frunk fridge?
Shut-Up and take my money, i want one, Yellow perhaps with all the optional dress up. First timer on this chennal, well done & keep up the good work!
Man.. thank you for the review. This is a gem among EV. ❤
Those white wall and chrome wheels looks nice!
Es muy bonito este primo "pequeño" del Suzuki Jimny y me encantaría tener uno para moverme en ciudad, no para carretera pq claramente no fue diseñado para eso.
Salu2 desde Chile ..!!
Rear solid axle? Wow, I would really like to see that doing some hardcore offroad. An electric Jimny anyone? Suzuki, make note!
You do your job so elegantly sir. Best wishes.🎉
power to the rear wheels only or all 4 ? love the looks .. I hope we see it soon in the ASEAN market
Single motor, RWD.
This car is awesome! Bring to Australia!
Love it! Come to Sweden!
Superb. How much will it cost in India?
Banned because Joe gave the instruction to Modi
Thanks for the review, It is quite a nice car, and , it is a EV.
In a perfect world, I would get me a Telsa Cybertruck, a Model X Plaid for my wife, a Wuling Bingo, a Wuling Air Ev, an MG Cyberster for my three girls, and a Baojun Yep for my youngest son. lol
"In a perfect world"?! It definitely wouldn't be a perfect PLANET with everyone and their kids driving everywhere and anywhere - even if they're all driving EVs...

@@paulgovan3507 correction: In MY perfect world, not yours, there's no space for your kind of party poopers in MY perfect world. now you get off MY dream!.. lol
@@paulgovan3507 This. In a perfect world, personal vehicle isn't even necessary. There are a lot more alternative for moving people other than 1 vehicle for 1 person.
In a perfect world, I wouldn't need any of that crap I'd teleport or fly my x-wing into the sunset
I would love to order one, but is it possible to change language to English in main screen?
Excellent presenting style.
Just came across this video and channel. Who's this guy? He's hilarious and of course the accent and humour of a true brit!
Is this car available in Canada?
I'd remove the backseat and add a small side access door for said storage.
I love this car!❤ Its a mix of Suzuki Ignis, Hyundai Casper,Ford Bronco and Nissan Cube
More like Suzuki Jimny than Ignis
Best review with this car! Excited to get this in the philippines
Wow - even better and probably even cheaper than the VF3 Jeep-like 4-5 seater mini EV that Vietnam's Vinfast say they'll start selling soon.
Sadly if this price-busting Baojun is ever exported to major European, US etc markets it'll cost circa 70%-90% more than than in China.

rear passenger thigh support should be shown in your review.
and his tears)
This thing's cool. The interior's kinda Rivian, kinda Mazda and that's not a bad thing. It's like less off road focused Jimny.
Love the channel Sean 👍
Did you say where this car is being released? I think I missed that.
然哥加油!!!!测评越来越有活力辣!!!
Dimension similar to Jimny also. Soo cute!😊 this will be a hit if launched in the Philippines! Lines for Jimny will be shortened
love the boxy design
Interiour design is awesome! 😍😍😍
very nice car... I love jimny but it's expensive in my country. I think this car will be high demand.
That rear screen is amazing😁👌👍
And who cares about the rear wiper. I never use it anyway. 🤩
Looks awesome
Damn this is Suzuki Jimny Electric should be 🥲 I hope Wuling version come with 4WD
It is very convenient and energy-saving for commuting and shopping
Looks like a Suzuki Jimny and a Honda Element had a kid. I would definitely pick one up
Too bad you didn't provide the specs on this car and show the options, rear, side, and interior. What features other than the USB port on the rear view mirror? Range? speed?
I'd really love to see these cruising through Canadian cities soon...
As much as I would want to own such a cute vehicle I am worried about its NCAP test results. Most likely they would be devastating for my wish to own one.
I really love car design like this ❤❤❤❤❤
The boxiness and rear storage issues are familiar to anybody who ever owned a Honda Element (slogan- Aerodynamics Is Overrated). It kind of makes me wish Honda would bring back the Element as an EV.
Sería muy bueno traer este carro a Colombia 🇨🇴, como in 4x4
Does it come with english language option?
Looks similar to the Suzuki Jimny - it looks fun!
This looks like a great small car for Europe.
Would be amazing in Central London.
This will topple market of hatchback if launched in India. And price around 5lakh rupees
No way it'll be priced at around 5L, At least 10L-11L ex-showroom.
然哥加油💪
This look amazing, I wish it would come to canada.
We need this EV in the States. Perfect for the city.I really like it. I had a Suzuki Samurai. This would be perfect.
I love this guy. He mentions his height in all his videos.😂😂😂😂
