The poet 'Raskhan ' says
मानुस हौं तो वही ‘रसखान’, बसौं मिलि गोकुल गाँव के ग्वारन।
जो पसु हौं तो कहा बस मेरो, चरौं नित नंद की धेनु मँझारन॥
पाहन हौं तो वही गिरि को, जो धर्यो कर छत्र पुरंदर कारन।
जो खग हौं तो बसेरो करौं मिलि कालिंदीकूल कदम्ब की डारन॥
‘Raskhan’ says,
If I were to be born a human being, let me be born amongst the cowherds of Gokul.
If I were to be born an animal, let me graze amongst the cattle of Nand Baba.
If I were to be a stone, let me be a part of the Govardhan mountain which was held as a shield by Bhagwan Shree Krishna’ to protect the people from the ire of Purandar i.e. Indra, and his thunderbolt.
If I were to be born as a bird, let me dwell on the banks of the Kalindi river, on the branches of the kadamba tree (Where I would be able to hear the sweet tunes of Bhagwan Shree Krishna’s flute.)
in other words, the great devotee poet ‘Raskhan’ seeks proximity to Bhagwan Shree Krishna.
And nothing else.
The extreme devotion of the Sufi saint Syed Ibrahim Khan alias ‘Raskhan’ shines through, and proves once again -
Spirituality knows no barriers.
