- In this video I share my personal experience of doing a border bounce or a border run to renew my tourist visa by crossing the Thai-Loas Friendship bridge at the Mukdahan - Savannakhet border, including costs, transportation, and what to expect during the journey. Thanks bro great info 😊

Hi! Can I do visa run in the same day? Thanks
Is it true you can only do this twice in one calendar year
so i heard, they changed the tourist entry from 45 days to 30 again, and once you go to imigration to extend it once, you cannot do it again? so if i do a border run, i'll only get 30 days now, not 30 days + a 30 day extension?
Yes they have now changed the tourist visa exemption back to 30 days. You can then go to Local immigration and get a 30 day extension. After that you would need to exit the country and then return to reactivate your visa, this is sometimes called a border run or border bounce. once you have reactivated your visa you can then get another 30 day extension on top of that.
@@jonnyslife ah so once I go extend in a week or two, I then leave,
Come back for 30 days, and then they let me extend again right? And then bounce to a new country again
@@DumbBritAbroad yeah that's pretty much it, if you need more advice I recommend joining the facebook group called Thai visa advice. There is lots of information there and you can ask any questions you have :)
@@prosab5023 You go to your local Thai immigration office to apply for an extension, it costs 1900 baht
Hey guys just be careful to do not "abuse" free visa/visa exempts. You can read everywhere that there is a visa land border run number limitations by calendar year : i think it's 2 visa exempts border run by land. And 6 free visa if you fly (some say it's unlimited).
⚠️Be very careful Thai immigration is on the lookout for Freevisa and also Tourists VISA "abusers" in particular if you systematically a 30 days extension on the top of your free visa. And more important to them : if you just make a quick stop like a days or 2 then you come back to Thailand: The 6 freevisa by air rule are totally wrong: I was sure it was the case and had the bad surprise to be stopped arriving fron Kula Lumpur to Phuket after my second free Visa +extensions in the row and a previous regular tourist visa obtained in my home country.... So basically the free visa is intended and wont be limited or to 6 by calendar year : ⚠️Only and only if you are really nice doing tourism in south east Asia and use Thailand as main hub: For exemple : 2 weeks in Malaysia, then 1 month + 30 days extension total 60 days in Thailand....Then you would fly and spend 1 week in Singapore (1 week out of Thailand is i would say still considered as doing tourism in Asia. Then you can multiply those free 30 or 45days if it's back to 45days...Visa exempts
....I didn't know about this as i was saying above and i was informed that i was on a yellow list and wont be able to secure a tourist VISA OR FREE VISA /EXEMPTS for at least 1 year. And i was given 1 last chance (because i have a thai wife and kids double nationals and my situation was a bit special hence why i didn't know how long we needed to stay in Thailand, and why i didn't secured a NON O family Visa instead.
But be very careful about multiplying the visa exempts/free visa back to back with extensions and doing a 1/2 days on a border Thai country and re-enter on Free Visa. You could get yourself into real trouble with the immigration and end up blacklisted for a while. After more than 15 years in Thailand, i can tell this is a lot more strict and specially for Tourists and Free VISA or long "suspicious" stay in Thailand. It's no longer possible or you need a real long stay visa after max of 3-4 month max spent in Thailand. INCLUDING ARRIVING OR LEAVING BY AIR.
As per Land : 1 free visa + 30 day extension max "
