- Trained in industrial design Sylvain Berneron started his career designing exceptional models for BMW, Ducati and MV Agusta. In 2014 he stepped onto the path of watch designing (apparently inspired by WatchesTV videos).
Fast forward a few years, he's a Chief Product Officer at Breitling, an Academy Member of the GPHG, and launched his own brand with the first model "Mirage" already sold out until 2030.
Watch the full video to learn why this fantastic Dali-ish timepiece shouldn't have existed, and what the Berneron brand plans for the future.

This is like a watch that was made just for me. Its super thin, not traditional at all while being extremely traditional... its like a collection of things that should not work but somehow they do. I can see why he is so successful, this is a real grail piece here. And I have to tell you I really like that he adopted the philosophy of long, _long_ term planning, like Patek or VC would, 50 years down the line, not 3. That is what makes these independents without financial backers able to hang around for 250+ years. His brand is going the distance and longevity is a factor for all mechanical watch enthusiasts - that's important. Keep an eye out for a meteoric rise because this guy has it figured out.
We are very grateful for being featured on the channel 🙏🫶🙏 thanks to the whole Watches TV team.
What a watch you managed to create. Congrats!
You have designed a unique and very beautiful watch! I wish you every success and I will be excited to see your future bespoke calibres, particularly the very complicated one you mentioned.
This is a great watch and I would love to get it one day. However Horology is not always about possession. ❤
Loooove the way the movement is exactly case-shaped, that’s engineering luxury
Extremely well said 👍👍
Many thanks Mark Andre .
As always you are leading the world of fine horology.
With great respect and love
Nizar
Bravo 👏👏👏👏!!! Very beautiful and special watch!!! 👏👏👏👏
So happy to see you again. Best horology channel on TH-cam!
This has quickly become my holiest grail. Never have I wanted a watch more. Everything is sublime (incredible movement technically/aesthetically, eye-catching/artistic/daring design, beautiful dial/font used, very slim case, precious metal, gold lock case size of 38 mm), story behind included.
And even though some people say expensive, this is cheaper than a SS Nautilus and about the price of a RO jumbo on the secondary market. This is a full gold, fully hand-made watch… I’ve been thinking about this way too much
Did you ever put a deposit down? Thinking of doing so myself
This is the most beautiful watch I’ve ever seen.
55K, sold out until 2028. As thin as a Piaget, as twisted as a Cartier Crash. This is pure beauty. Unfortunately, just for the rich.
Very aesthetic piece. The dial is well balanced and flows artistically. Movement is beautiful also.
Exactly the blockbuster I wanted to see on a friday night👏 amazing work guys
Love this watch and will definitely buy one if I can.
Very unique piece
absolutely stunning watches. when you see the end product its not surprising at all that its successful.
Such a lovely creation.
I find it so interesting how the Fibonacci sequence keeps appearing within nature.
When I was 17 and studying electronics in my country's navy back in the 80's, I discovered that I could create pseudo random numbers by applying feedback taps on a shift register based ripple counter built with J-K flip-flops. While trying to find the optimum positions for the feedback connections (fed into an XOR gate) to feed back to the first bit, I found that it was actually the Fibonacci sequence which defined the optimum configuration to create one of these pseudo random number generators with maximal output length, before the output would repeat.
Many years later, while studying cryptography, I found out that this was something that was already known and used. I was not the first to find this! LOL Fibonacci based LFSR PRNGs are a thing!
So it seems that the sequence that Fibonacci discovered, continues to be significant even today within computer engineering and computer science!
Another great interview. Only one small piece of feedback would be to slice even more b roll of the watch in! Especially close up macros.
This guy is the real deal!Beautiful design!
This is one of the most beautiful watch I have ever seen 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
The fact that the case is designed around the movement is wonderful! Reminds me of when Ferrari used to demand Bertone style the car around the engine…fantastique !❤
It’s a wonderful watch. I really hope he succeeds.
Watching from Malaysia after I just came across this new brand. What a wonderful piece the Mirage is. Just made an inquiry via email, hopefully I can get an allocation in the next order window
Beautiful design 😊⏰️
Now this is a fantastic brand! Good luck to him!!!
awesome 🤩
I would sell all my watches for this. I just love it. Waitlist is into 2029 at this point.
Great interview, but why do you have a television playing behind Sylvain? It is a distraction and diminishes the presentation.
Goegeous piece
So cool !!
See you next year in the winners circle in Geneva
This is it!
If I had the money, id buy one!
Very nice and original design, always welcome this kind of brands,i dont know the price who could be the negative point, but cool watche
The Hublot add on the tv is disturbing my focus. I Hope they payed you a lot for that.
Nice, playful design. 😊
This watch reminds me of Salvador Dali surrealism with its design
Beautiful…but, glad I stopped drinking!🤪
Yeaaah.... A crooked watch with the hour hand above the minute hand... Just like i imagined... Why don't make it counter-clockwise at once...?
Anyway, congrats... Congrats... 🎉🎉🎉 If only i can afford one... 🤭😅
Salvatore Dali?
Salvador Dali inspired?... Time warped...
lose the screen behind him...thats too much
Really poor form showing so little of the watches 😂 producer not producing
