A few changes I’d like to see for the Accelerator:
-It definitely needs less damage falloff and bullet drop, maybe higher projectile velocity, though still some bullet drop to keep it in theme with other plas weapons
-Staged reload so interrupting it doesn’t make you fully restart the animation
-Single fire mode so you can be more ammo efficient against single targets and at range, but I’d keep the charge time the same so there’s a viable reason to be on burst mode.
-edit: one more, higher weapon ergonomics so you don’t absolutely need peak physique but it would still be nice to have
It’s still got a pretty short charge time and does ~350 damage per shot, higher potential range than the Purifier, plus very high potential dps in burst mode. I think that would be a good start. You could increase damage but I’m not sure damage is the issue, adding another 3 rounds for a 12 round mag (without adding single fire) wouldn’t really help much either, and increasing the armor pen would kinda make it step on the AMR’s toes.
I’d be curious how it would feel with those changes compared to the DCS, hopefully it would have about the same range but could hit harder+explosive damage to give it its own niche
Wouldn't mind if the AMR did more damage personally. It can be quite a mag dumper.
The accelerator simply needs slightly better handling and far less damage drop off. Then it would do fine. A single fire charged shot would be a good alt fire mode for it.
I really wanna use this gun for the Automatons, but I think it'd either need to be used in an extreme range build or a support build. . . intriguing.
Honestly it's my go-to gun for the bots and it's not bad. Like yeah the weapon really isn't good in it's own right, but it can still put in work if used right(and using it right is definitely not using it at a long range, it's got a damage falloff of 60 meters. Classifying it as a sniper was a mistake)
9:26 for me, they should upgrade it to high penetration armor. It should be the first high pen primary weapon. Then makes AMR anti-tank so its not overshadowed by plasma sniper.
I doubt they’ll change the capacity or burst function, seeing as that’s pretty much exactly how it worked in killzone. Having the first sniper rifle primary in the game have huge damage drop off is incredibly stupid though, what exactly is the purpose of a sniper rifle that sucks at long range?

Accelerator has abysmal damage falloff. That’s probably the reason for the inconsistent break points.

isn't this a prerecorded video? (the carry animation isn't up to date for the artillery shells, it's been changed in the most recent update to be quicker to carry them around, basically the shells are supposed to be carried with them tilted at a 30-45 degree angle in the divers arms.)
i use that gun against the illuminates, it goes really well with the overseers

It might be latency but when i play with friends the aim reticle often lies and misses by a bit, it's so frustrating
I don't think it's latency, the scopes on everything seem to be misaligned. It's especially painful on snipers, like the AMR.

Part of it boils down to knowledge. Given enough time, you can use just about anything pretty efficiently. Experience is everything

Needs heavy armor pen and no distance dripp-off. If the drop-off is in theme with it being plasma... Needs to do much more damage per shot, 450 likely.

my hot take of the night; the plas rifle is overhated, and it's drawbacks are overstated. Now don't get me wrong it's got it's problems, i'm not blind to those. However they're really not as bad as everyone says. Ammo problems and the overkill potential are really only present if you're wasting them on chaff(like pouncers and hunters for example). It 1-2 bursts basically all medium units(1 full burst to an alpha commander's head will remove it, then it can die to bleedout)
To be blunt, your build this mission didn't really do the plas rifle justice. I get why you picked what you picked but at the same time, being forced to use the plas rifle on hunters is a real feels bad thing. I personally would've gone senator or peacemaker, or even swapped to gas nades since you both had eats to spam all the time(actually probably would've done normal frags or impacts based on the mention of the MO when this was recorded). I've also never felt the ergo is bad enough to warrant peak physique over siege ready
Admittedly I think the plas rifle is much better on bots, and would ask you to give it another try on that front if you haven't yet. My current bot loadout is:
Siege ready light armor
plas rifle
senator
thermites
eats
jump pack
commando
free slot but i like the hellbomb pack rn
I think the accelerator needs to a rework, make it do less damage, have there be a higher damage, single fire mode, and it has to be heavy armor penetrating, have it be like a AMR lite. That would be so much better and make it an actually enjoyable and very viable sniper rifle for higher difficulties.
Constitution needs a stripper clip and a scope/Red dot sight
like most of the things in the game, just a poorly implemented tool that does nothing and even the devs admit it sucks. why include it when KZ had so many other iconic weapons?
