Abandoned Toy Collectors Mansion in Barrington Hills Illinois

- In Barrington Hills, Illinois sits a $1,500,000 Mansion full of vintage collectable toys. Most of the house was cleared out but the garage was packed full of valuables untouched!!! We found someone's lost Iphone, a pool in the backyard, and even family photos! Nothing online about the old owner or the story behind it's abandonment. My best guess is the mansion was lived in by someone who really enjoyed collecting and he has since passed away leaving everything behind.

Passes all the collectibles worth thousands and grabs the old broken iPhone 😂
I know! 😂😂😂😂
I like how you are so impressed with the features you'd expect in a mansion like this
LOL
Hundreds of dollars of GI Joe stuff. And he has no idea what it is.😂
Painful to hear him have zero idea of what he was looking at
I love it when you explore old homes! Looking forward to this one..
This house isn't old. Was built in the late 1980s/early 90s and the exterior was finished to appear old. Cool house tho!
I love how respectful and appreciative y’all are! Thank you for sharing all of this with us!! 🩵
They're not respectful. They broke into the home of my great uncle who is a war veteran with dementia, the home and possessions are not abandoned. They stole and are being prosecuted.
Antique toy collectors are punching the air watching this. The knight rider set brought 😢back so many memories as did a lot of these toys
@24:33 I recognize those! Those are all classic GI Joe action figures from a set I used to have! My uncle gave me his when I was little and I recognize some of the figurines! Cool stuff there!
Yeah they were...that stuff is VERY VALUABLE and VERY COLLECTABLE right now. I'd love to hear an update about what's being done. I'd drive from Ohio to clear it out!
Such a magnificent house. It's almost criminal to destroy it...
I hope all thoses vintage toys were not thrown away. Aside from the fact that some are literally worth a fortune, they are just AWESOOOOOME !
All about the unusable iPhone when thousands of dollars of crap is just strung about
That box of GI Joe toys just from what I could see was worth a min of $500
I would spend hours looking through everything
Noway I bet they had a fireplace also....a leaf fan wwhoooaaa!!
Unopened collectibles from 1940's to the 2000's should be worth a fortune 🤑
Fr bro I would pack ALL of that in my truck that stuff is worth a lot of money, plus I collect antiques so those things really speak to me
And those punks just walk by all of it & get so excited about an I phone. Dumb! If this is the future of America we're SCRUED!
@@kenroberts9082 those “punks” should have stolen someone’s property? Wow the past of America sucked
@@man-by9iz no not stolen
Preserved for future generations.
The cash is just morally:/

Awesome
The “radio” is an intercom. So you could buzz down to the brown one in the kitchen and talk :) that bed and furniture are stunning tho! I died seeing the buck rogers toys! I bet it was an amazing place to explore 💜 beautiful home
The antique furniture is beautiful! All those toys bring back so many memories❤ The house is beautiful it’s a shame they are tearing it down
A beautiful home boys ❤ all those collectibles would be worth a fortune $$$$$🍀🌈 i am just blown away by the capacity of stuff left & how big this place is 👍🏽😉 thank you for the adventure boys ❤️ stay safe out there 🙏🏽
For me, this video elucidates the transience of our lives and how the material THINGS that we spend so much of our lives chasing, are just that, THINGS. Things that are static, are left behind by time. For example, those video cassette tapes were probably desperately wanted gifts at some point. Today's generation would probably not even know what they are and if they could find a VCR to play them on, they would be horrified by the poor fidelity.
"Elucidates the transience of our lives".... Well said! Experiences had in life vastly outweigh things acquired in a life.
5:16 that looks like parts to the 1986 gi joe USS Flagg playset. thats $$$
Dude! This house had a stove! And light fixtures!!!
i've been binging and enjoying your videos, great job :). very respectful of the properties as well.
my home has that same exact wood, including the design - my dad’s a self employed master carpenter though so he does it all! but I have to agree, this house is beautiful 🤩
That's was somebody's dream house, shame no one wanted to buy it or inherit and keep it going. Signs of the times though, when that house was built America was in much better shape overall. Now I don't know anyone who could afford the property taxes for a place like that, let alone buying it and then having to spend another fortune to fix it up. Lot's of hidden gems in that place I bet.
OMG, this is a very nice house to destroy, and ever who lived in this house like to collect nice things.
It is very bad to destroy this beautiful house. The person that owns this house needs to sell some of the collectibles in this house and restore this beautiful house.
Shame they demolishing it, such a nice area too and the outside of the home is actually well done
test
Hi
Why wouldn't they just sell it in an auction or smthn, I'm sure there will be plenty of potential buyers
At the 15 minute mark that big gray plastic piece is the deck to the GI Joe USS Flagg. If you found the rest of it that's worth about $1000
i as a Swede are blown away that there is so much Abandoned places in USA that is just left to rot. Sure you have all the space. here in Sweden this type of thing dont happen. if a building is Abandoned it´s torn down to make space for a new building. or torn down to make sure we are taking care of the environment.
There is buildings and complex that is un-used but not Abandoned cuz they still have value and are not left to rot.
Exactly.. it's so heartbreaking to see beautiful homes I could never afford wasting away. We have 2 times as many empty homes than we do homeless... I’m not a brain surgeon or anything. But come on! This is ridiculous.
@@lahart2003why would they demolish these houses instead of putting them in auction or smthn, I'm not american so this is a genuine question
@@lahart2003 The United States is ridiculous
@@Scorned405 Yes it is!! Totally Ass backwards! Our entire government is corrupt. They don’t give a shit about the people. I don’t know how long that’s been going on. It was definitely before I was born in 1965 when it started. Testing on its own people. Cancerous Banded foods in Europe are Staples in America. Just dangerous everything even our water is fucked. They want most of us dead. Leaving our borders open?! they think doing this to us, and our country is going to make us beg for the New World order. IMHO. They think wrong!
Him: look at that fountain
Me: BOAT!
Are you SURE that this was exploring and not B & E?
Seriously, I envy whoever gets the salvage rights to this place! 😊
You literally grabbed the box to the gi joe USS Flagg aircraft carrier box….. 🙄 it was a 7ft long play set!!!
you should donate the family photos and some of the toys to the local history museum.
Why? They aren't his to donate.
@@BunnySpaceMachine it probably gonna be thrown in trash whole building is getting demolished
The amount of stuff in the garage is in decent shape. A lot of it is still worth keeping. The fact that it gets thrown in a dump along with the demolished house that is just sad. I’d say it’s free for the picking b/c it’s all going to the dump anyways.
Very underrated video, also very enjoyable. Good job👍
There is a small
Fortune in that house.
Very small now, given the state of the house and the amount of repairs it would need, It’s only worth a couple hundred thousand at most now
(Compared to the 1-2 million it probably cost to build originally)
@@mro4ts457I think they were referring to all the toys.
These kids had everything😊 and the adults wow 🤯 cx
Those VHS tapes must be from way back in the 90s! No way!
Oh wow it's got family pictures and first picture is Jesus 🤣
You need to get someone in there who knows toys to get all the good stuff out.
Amazing building i must say with lots of great stuff, regards from Poland
That Star Wars was a box set of all three movies pre Geroge Lucas messing with them and re-release. You can't get them like that any more
This house is awesome
Been investigating this property… sad tragedy of little boy who accidentally past… lots of ghost stories
I grew up in Barrington hills, so many amazing properties there. Some of the biggest houses in IL.
That Sub Zero fridge is top of the line. Thousands, probably more than $10k
The master bed probably still get several hundred. The big table, several hundred. Those are wood. With a tiny bit of tlc, they would be as good as new. Cant believe that stuff is in there!!!
Yeah but you dont get it out there. The table and bed are way to heavy and i am pretty sure, that the hous is owned by someone
@@nwoizaakgoldmann4519call them up and volunteer to hall off or clean out the home for free. You’d be surprised what people are willing to give away for free. If someone that owns that home hasn’t taken those items out, it pretty likely that they would be willing to part with most of it. You call your buddies, family, or a freaking moving company to get that stuff. A little TLC and elbow geese, and you could make a fortune off of selling it on the antique market.
that’s crazy, so cool
Poor spidey, you left him hanging there.
The kitchen appliances and cabinets would outlast any crap made now days.
I
Love that house!!
Beautiful
Is beautiful house ❤❤❤❤❤
So what’s gonna happen to all those things there worth hella money hope it gets donated
I’ve got that same type of fan from the patio room in my master. Wife had to have one.
That Iphone was a cool find
That Tom Mix thing you picked up is pretty cool if you ever go to Oklahoma in a town called Dewey there is a Tom Mix Museum
Very cool
OMG I had that type of strawberry shortcake bike 😂
There is like $100k of stuff in that garage. What did they do with the stuff?
Makes me VERY UPSET that theyre demolishing this home. ITS GORGEOUS. Theres no need to.... Sad so so so sad 😢😢😢
I wish i wasnt a poor unhealthy woman, and could fix/buy it. 😢❤
That Star Wars Bobba Fett ship in original box is worth $300
Wow was is abandoned or were they still taking tings out of the house? Love it tough ❤
That cool old furniture just begging to be restored 😭
nobody would care about a iPhone that was in that place and knew what they were looking at
So schöne antike Möbel...
I actually went to school in Barrington im surprised they have abandoned mansions there
Also grew up in Barrington, looking at the inside of this house and how dated it is, I can see why they had a hard time selling the property compared to other houses for sale.
Everyone is moving out of Barrington and out of Illinois, so there’s a lot of house for sale and most are selling for the same price or less than they were previously bought at.
My parents lost money selling their house.
@@mro4ts457 Why is everyone moving out of Barrington?
@@Scorned405
Illinois tax increases and a government In decline in this state.
Also, nobody wants to go downtown to Chiraq anymore😂
So there’s no appeal to living in Illinois except if your family is already there.
What happened to the previous owner??
Is it cheaper to destroy then renovate?
Usually
Could they not sell it to some rich dude who would like the history?
What a waste of a gorgeous home I would love to own it and I hope before they tear it down they would salvage all of the collectables, furniture, fans, woodwork and those gorgeous windows, there's quite a bit of money left in this house.
Nancy
I whould like to see that house remodeled
WOW ! Three Bathrooms !
Cool those army vehicles are from the 80s line gi joe!
At 20:42 you can see a box with GJ Joe action figures in the original boxes. These a worth a lot of money
Toys are worth a lot, but bro, here’s an iPhone.
There’s so many Gijoes I seen
I live very close to there😂
🧐🧐
How do you find out about places like this?
Wow please let me know if thr owners are still alive i would love to have that barbie doll for my 4 year old daughter wow absolutely loves babries! Wow all these toys brings back so many memories
PLEASE check out the forest fair mall in Fairfield, Ohio! It's awesome!!!
VHS 📼 tapes from back in the day
You should check out the Sarasota Florida kennel club abandoned dog track
Ground caved in!
When i saw the house i immediatly got flashbacks of robbery bob 2
$165.00 knight rider car with figure
Cant believe thats been left there all this time
Someone was must have been working on movie sets or in Hollywood.
OMG I LOVE THE LEAF FAN IN THE "PATIO ROOM",or so you called it in the video. ❤❤❤
Tony Oliva Louisville Slugger bat at 7:14. From Cuba, he won 3 AL batting titles in the 1960's and is in the Hall of Fame. Ken Griffey Jr. at 18:55.
Wow your friend is cute, I grew up in a fine home similar to that not quite as intricate but it was very very nice. I love to live in that house and clean it up do a little remodeling some better furniture, get a couple of employees indoor made outdoor Yard Man, could be nice problem is these days people are toxic so why do you need all those bedrooms to put people in anymore. Have to make a house built to have a couple of dozen dogs. Replace each person with a dog once you get over the age of 50
Whoa bro no way a 5$ iphone that's so crazy
Kinda sad to see all those things just left behind as if he passed away alone with no family😢
I see you homie, we're neighbors my friend, I see you in Michigan and Illinois!!! I fuck w the content man!!! I've been trying to do some urban exploring recently, it's been hella interesting fr. I went to an abandoned mental hospital not too long ago and it was CRAZZZZYYYYY, I found an electric chair there. There's so many stories behind shit, it's haunting to think about fr. You got a new sub tho man, I fuck with it heavy!!!!
Do u go explore in Michigan like in Detroit
Wow
What a shame they are going to tear down that house! But the colors of the walls! Horrible! But to each their own.,.
2 guys stayed in garage through the whole video lmao
Those beds are nice very expensive my mom has the bedroom suit
👍👍👍👍
i think that guy owned a toy store
Is it possible to buy these properties?
I would be taking as much as i can and either selling the non-cool stuff and then hanging up all of the cool things in MY HOUSE
