NEC PA500U Projector Disassembly, Diagnosis & Repair Calibration of the Iris has Failed Error

Video covering the diagnosis, disassembly and repair of an NEC PA500U data projector that wouldn't start due to the error: "Calibration of the Iris has Failed"
Should also apply to NEC PA600X/PA500X/PA550W/PA500U
The fix essentially involved removing the iris assembly, giving it a bit of a clean and running it through its range of motion several times to unstick it.
If your projector is hard to access and you want to change the bulb at the same time, you can also save some money buy just purchasing a bulb only and re-use your existing bulb housing eg: amzn.to/2PdhsQF

Note from repair of 2nd projector:
I noted in the video that our church has 2 of these. The one I repair in this video was completely faulty and would never start up. Our 2nd one would be fine 90% of the time, but would occasionally make the clicking sound and give auto iris fault. Upon opening it I found that the iris moved freely, so cleaned the sensor with compressed air. The 2nd projector hasn't been in tested for long enough for me to be happy to confirm that this (dirty sensor) was the issue.

Hi Steve I have one of these I'm having trouble with it powering up I have looked thought trouble shooting guild and there is not a procedure recommend.
power is orange
status green
lamp red
temp no light
nothing is flashing have changed globe no difference
Would you be able to recommend a solution is there a reset code ?

Lamp has exceeded hours and projector is in standby mode, you need to press the ‘help’ button on the remote for 10 seconds after a lamp replacement to reset it
